Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1240: Romanian Longhorn_3
“Are you insane?” he turned his head and snarled at Kael, who had somehow entered unnoticed, “The Auror is looking for you everywhere, and you dare to show up openly in Diagon Alley, stopping in front of my store. Aren’t you afraid of implicating me?”
“Not at all,” Kael said matter-of-factly, “Even if you get caught and taken to Azkaban, what does it have to do with me? I don’t care.”
Willie Tom was momentarily speechless.
He had to admit, although the words stung, there was some damn truth to them!
Meanwhile, Kael was reminded by this annoyance that he was indeed being pursued by the Auror; he genuinely forgot with all the things going on recently.
Are Aurors so diligent these days? It’s been a month, and they still haven’t given up?
“So, did you really kill those Hokuriken people?” the owner asked curiously.
“Words aren’t to be taken lightly, I don’t know any Hokuriken. If you slander me again, I’ll go to the Auror myself.”
Of course, Kael wouldn’t admit it; after all, he didn’t do anything. Those people fell asleep suddenly after checking his box.
Perhaps those people just liked to sleep, and you can’t blame it on him.
The owner said nothing. He really wanted to tell Kael… the Ministry of Magic’s Aurors had already identified you as the mastermind behind the murder of five wizards, and the order they received allowed them to shoot to kill when necessary. What’s the point of saying anything now?
But the words lingered on his lips; he chose not to voice them.
Besides, it’s not a secret, Kael just needs to step outside, and he’ll see the bulletin posted on the wall.
Saying it out loud now might scare him away… Willie Tom knew very well the purpose of his visit this time.
At the same time, he was the one who most hoped Kael wouldn’t get caught by the Auror.
Not out of kindness, but because of the Galleons.
“Thank Merlin!” he naturally changed his expression, “I thought I’d get stuck with that thing, didn’t expect you’d have the courage to come back.”
“I just came to see if any other wizard had robbed and killed you.” Now that he mentioned it himself, Kael didn’t beat around the bush, “Now it seems like you’ve already got what I want.”
“Of course,” Willie Tom said confidently, “It’s not that easy to steal something from me.”
“Then bring it out,” Kael said, “I’m in a hurry, and I don’t think you want me to stay here too long, right?”
“You can’t say that, you’re my esteemed guest.”
Though he said that, he quickly walked to a painting, spoke to someone inside it.
Then, with a ‘click’, the painting opened, revealing a space reminiscent of a safe.
Willie Tom pulled out a round egg from inside.
Well, the egg was rather unremarkable, like an oval stone you might see by the roadside, colored in a dull gray-green, with lumpy black spots all over it.
If such a thing were thrown by the riverside, people passing by might not look twice, yet Kael’s eyes suddenly lit up.
“Romanian Longhorn’s Dragon Egg!”
If there’s one type of Fire Dragon that’s rare in the Magic Realm, the Romanian Longhorn would definitely be among them. Their temperament is considered mild among Fire Dragons, their size is massive, capable of yielding vast amounts of Dragon Blood, and not to mention the pair of golden horns that hold immense value.
Even just one pair of horns could be worth more than half a Common Welsh Green.
Thus, this type of Fire Dragon has always been favored by professional dragon hunters, leading to their dwindling numbers.
Kael believes the reason the Fire Dragon Reserve is set up in Romania is largely to conveniently protect the Fire Dragons that live there.
Didn’t expect Willie Tom to bring such a surprise; if it’s a Romanian Longhorn, it is indeed worth two hundred Galleons.
“The guest indeed has a good eye,” Willie Tom said proudly, “To acquire this, I invested quite a lot of Galleons, nearly got caught by the Ministry of Magic’s Aurors.”
Willie Tom babbled incessantly about the difficulties and battles he faced bringing it back.
But Kael could hear the underlying message in every word he said.
He wants more money.
If it were a day ago, Kael wouldn’t mind giving an extra Sickle or ten, but now, that’s truly not possible.
“Bang!”
A heavy bag was thrown onto the table.
“Here’s the remaining payment as agreed, combined with the previous deposit, it makes exactly two hundred Galleons. If you think it’s too little, you can report me to the Auror, I’m sure they’ll give you a substantial bounty for information.”
