Hogwarts : I Have the Holy Father System
Chapter 810: Side Story — Cassandra 6
Cassandra was bored. She really didn't want to hear anything about that guy anymore.
All she wanted now was to study quietly at Hogwarts. She didn't want anyone telling her anything about that stupid guy again.
Hmph!
The problem was that even when she deliberately avoided paying attention to him, news about him kept finding its way into her ears.
Especially on Halloween.
She noticed that the stupid guy sitting beside her seemed to have lost his soul.
The last time he'd looked like this was after he'd been sorted into Slytherin during their first year. Could Harry Potter of Gryffindor have bullied him again?
She instinctively glanced toward the Gryffindor table.
The know-it-all girl, Weasley, and Harry Potter were all gone.
Those three had left without taking him along.
How pitiful!
He deserved it. It would be even better if Harry Potter abandoned him completely, so he could finally stay in Slytherin like he was supposed to.
Cassandra thought about it with a little excitement.
However, as she watched him absentmindedly eating, she noticed that he seemed to have thought of something. Then he hurriedly got up and left.
Could it be...
Hmph! He'd gone to look for his precious brother Harry Potter again, hadn't he?
Cassandra was particularly angry.
Yet, at the same time, she felt increasingly uncomfortable.
She was sitting right here, but that stupid guy had never noticed her.
She shouldn't have told her family about her feelings. There was no way they could make anything happen between them.
That stupid guy's heart belonged to Gryffindor.
So what was she supposed to him?
She thought dejectedly.
But then she remembered that she was the heir to the Voray family and lifted her chin proudly again.
Even so, she was still Cassandra Voray!
Wait...
The stupid guy had been attacked?
"Yes! I heard Filch beat him several times. Filch was even about to use a knife, but Dumbledore stopped him in the end."
Pansy spoke indignantly beside her.
Several others chimed in, too.
"Filch has gone mad! He actually dared to attack a Slytherin student!"
"Exactly! He deserves to be fired, doesn't he?"
"I don't think so. With Darren Potter involved, that guy will probably get away with it."
"Seriously? Can Potter really forgive him for something like that?"
"Don't forget, Potter was the one who let Filch beat him..."
"Potter is an idiot!"
The group of noble Slytherins finally let out frustrated sighs, feeling that there was nothing they could do about that stupid guy.
Sure enough, Filch showed up again the following day.
Cassandra was walking down the corridor when she spoke to herself.
"Mr. Filch seems to think Peeves is the most useless creature in this school. I wonder if he's right?"
"After all, Peeves has never actually fought Mr. Filch."
"Perhaps Mr. Filch really is right. Maybe Peeves isn't as powerful as he thinks he is?"
She delivered these words almost expressionlessly.
Then she saw Peeves, who had been hiding quietly nearby, suddenly dart away.
Hmph! She hoped Mr. Filch would enjoy Peeves's enthusiasm.
No matter how troublesome that fellow was, Filch had no right to bully him!
Cassandra thought angrily.
Then she saw the stupid guy and Harry Potter walking past her together.
She fell silent.
As expected, he hadn't noticed anything.
How could he possibly pay attention to something like that?
Perhaps, in his eyes, everything she did was just underhanded and despicable.
Cassandra suddenly felt that everything she had done was pointless.
As her mother had said, how could a sheep fall in love with a wolf?
And she was that damned wolf!
Cassandra remained silent for a long time.
She didn't know what she was supposed to do.
She had always been so determined. Even if he never noticed her efforts, she had wanted to stay by his side.
So why did it still hurt so much?
The Quidditch match ended.
Gryffindor won again.
Cassandra silently walked away. After all, everything that happened next had nothing to do with her.
However...
She had only gone one night without paying attention to the stupid guy.
So why hadn't he come out at all?
She sat in the common room opposite the entrance to his dormitory. From there, she could usually tell at a glance where he was whenever he came out.
Even if he couldn't see her, she could at least be the first to know that he was safe and sound.
Yet she waited for a long time without seeing him come downstairs.
What was going on?
Could Harry Potter's latest adventure have upset him?
Did this guy even know how to lose his temper?
Cassandra was skeptical.
She also heard plenty of rumors about Gryffindor students being petrified. Apparently, people had gone to check on Harry Potter the previous night, only to find him petrified as well.
Checking on Harry Potter...
That sounded exactly like the sort of thing the stupid guy would do.
Could he have been petrified, too?
Cassandra could no longer sit still.
She headed straight for the Head of House's office.
She wanted the Head of House to open the stupid guy's dormitory and check whether he was there.
The Head of House quickly went to investigate.
Cassandra hurried after him, only to discover that a large group of girls had followed her.
These girls were simply infuriating.
Couldn't they just stay in the common room?
What was the point of following her?
She thought indignantly.
Fortunately, they soon learned that the stupid guy wasn't in his dormitory, but that nothing seemed to have happened to him.
He had left a note saying that he was going out to clear his head.
Could he have fallen out with Harry Potter?
Cassandra thought with a little excitement.
If that were the case, then perhaps no one would drag him away from Slytherin next time.
But...
Why hadn't the stupid guy come back for lunch?
Cassandra suddenly remembered what her father had said.
He was Harry Potter's younger brother, and he could die at any moment.
At any moment?
Could it really happen?
Could he disappear from her world forever?
Professor McGonagall came to inform them that they had to remain in the Slytherin common room and were not allowed to wander around.
Cassandra stood up, wanting to ask about the stupid guy.
But Professor McGonagall suddenly pulled her into an embrace.
"Oh, child, don't cry. We'll definitely find him..."
Cry?
When had she cried?
It was obviously Professor McGonagall who was crying!
Cassandra raised her head and tried to explain, but discovered that she couldn't get the words out at all.
"Don't just stand there! Wipe away your tears. So many people are watching!"
Pansy grabbed her by the shoulders.
Then she leaned closer and whispered intimately into Cassandra's ear, "There are too many people here. Don't let them find out that you really like Darren!"
Oh, right!
In Slytherin, everyone could pretend to be friendly toward Potter, just as Pansy did, making it impossible to tell whether their feelings were genuine.
But no one could afford to reveal their true feelings.
The children here were already far more calculating than children from ordinary families, despite their young age.
"Of course! I'm only asking for news about Potter. After all, he's one of our own Slytherins!"
Cassandra lifted her head.
Her gaze swept toward the closed door.
Don't get yourself into trouble.
You're so strong!
