Chapter 2666: Story 2667: The Seventh Child

The seventh symbol awakened.

White light exploded across the chamber.

Then the woman stepped through, made of white fire with a human face.

“Mother,” Kael whispered.

“My son.”

Azael stared. “You were my son too. Then why were we divided?”

“Because I could not save all of you.”

The chamber shook as black cracks spread.

“She is telling you only half the truth.”

Kael looked at him. “What are you hiding?”

The stranger pointed toward the seventh symbol.

“That symbol is not a piece of your soul.”

She raised her hand.

“It is the lock.”

“Locking what?”

Her eyes filled with fear.

“The first enemy.”

A roar answered from beyond the cracks.

The sixth child covered his ears.

“It knows us.”

The fifth child spread wings.

“It is coming.”

Elias stepped beside Kael.

“Then let it come.”

She touched Elias’s forehead.

“You are the guardian.”

Golden light surged through him.

A vision appeared.

Kael saw an ancient kingdom before the First Kingdom. Five children stood beneath a white tree. Kael stood before them, older, holding a white sword.

Then a seventh figure appeared.

A faceless child.

“Brother.”

The vision shattered.

Kael stared at her.

“That was the seventh.”

“The one you were never meant to remember.”

Azael stepped forward.

“Where is he?”

The woman looked toward the cracked sky.

“He became the prison.”

“The seventh child was created to contain the enemy before the beginning,” she said.

Kael tightened his grip.

“Then why is the enemy here?”

“Because the prison is waking.”

The seventh symbol on Kael’s chest began turning black.

Lena grabbed his hand.

“Kael!”

The white fire turned cold.

A voice entered their minds.

“AZRAEL.”

The woman screamed.

“Do not answer!”

Kael looked upward.

The white eye appeared beyond the cracks.

“I remember you.”

Kael raised his sword.

“Then remember this.”

His seven symbols ignited.

“You will never take my family.”

The white eye widened.

The chamber exploded.

And from inside the seventh symbol, a child opened his eyes.

“Brother.”

The woman fell to her knees.

“Impossible.”

The child’s eyes opened completely, silver and burning with white fire.

The black-eyed Azrael stared in terror.

“He has awakened.”

Kael stepped forward.

“Who are you?”

The child smiled.

“I am the one you forgot.”

Azael moved beside Kael.

“The seventh.”

The child shook his head.

“No.”

He pointed toward Kael.

“I am what was locked inside Azrael.”

The seventh symbol cracked across Kael’s chest.

The white eye disappeared.

The enemy was silent.

Then the child whispered,

“Now it is afraid.”

The chamber collapsed.

The woman rose.

“Run!”

“We stay together,” Kael said.

Lena took his hand. Elias joined them. Azael stood beside Kael. The fifth and sixth children gathered behind.

The seventh child smiled.

Then something beneath the chamber began knocking.

Boom.

Boom.

Boom.

Everyone froze.

“That is not the enemy,” the woman whispered.

Kael looked down.

“Then what?”

Her eyes filled with fear.

“The door to the beginning.”

The floor split open.

A voice whispered Kael’s oldest name.

“Azrael.”
