I Am Already A Queen
Chapter 153: Beat Him Up And Escape
Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Beat Him Up And Escape
"Who booked this suite tonight?"
"I heard it was a young, wealthy heiress. She even hired two male hosts to accompany her while drinking."
Hearing that detail, the masked man let out a subtle, silent click of his tongue.
"Nothing here. Let me check the next room." One of the pursuers grunted.
Without bothering to inspect beneath the low furniture, the men turned around and exited the suite.
After waiting long enough to confirm that the threat had cleared, the man dragged Qiao Meixia out from under the table.
The very second Qiao Meixia regained full movement of her arms, she launched a swift, dangerous counterattack aimed straight at his neck.
The man expertly parried her strike with his forearm, pulling her closer and spinning her around. Wrapping a powerful arm around her waist from behind, he effectively pinned her arms against her body.
"A newly returned daughter of the Jiang family hiring two male hosts to entertain her at a nightclub... You are remarkably bold, aren’t you?" The man whispered directly into her ear, his deep voice laced with dark amusement.
Qiao Meixia’s brow furrowed tightly. This man knew her.
With her upper body locked down, Qiao Meixia drove her heel back toward the man’s instep.
Anticipating her move, the man effortlessly shifted his footing to evade the blow.
Exploiting the sudden gap in his defensive posture, Qiao Meixia threw a sharp backward elbow straight into his ribs.
The solid strike landed with force, causing the man to grunt and loosen his hold for a fraction of a second.
Seizing the opening, Qiao Meixia slipped out of his grip, delivered a swift, parting kick straight to his knee, and dashed out of the room.
The man hissed softly at the sharp impact on his leg.
"No mercy whatsoever..." He muttered, a faint smile touching his lips beneath the mask.
A moment later, another group of suited men entered the room through the side entrance.
"Lord Jiu, are you alright?" The lead subordinate asked anxiously, rushing to his side.
"Hmm... I am fine." The man nodded, straightening his posture.
The subordinate caught sight of a distinct, dusty footprint plastered across Lord Jiu’s expensive trousers and could not help but blink in utter bewilderment.
"Did you capture the intruders?" Lord Jiu asked, his tone shifting back to absolute authority.
"Yes, my lord. However, their primary leader managed to slip through the perimeter." The subordinate reported respectfully.
"Take the captured ones straight down to the basement. Interrogate them thoroughly and make sure they spit out every single detail they know." Lord Jiu ordered coldly.
"Yes." The subordinate nodded.
Lord Jiu stepped out of the private suite, glancing down at his ruined trousers. He couldn’t stop thinking about the feisty little wild rabbit who had somehow managed to leave her mark on him.
Then, a certain realisation crossed his mind. ’That girl is still technically underage, yet she is already sneaking into exclusive clubs to drink alcohol. Not to mention, she even hired two male hosts to keep her company.’
"So young, yet she already knows how to live such a wild life." Lord Jiu mumbled under his breath.
"Pardon? Did you say something, Lord Jiu?" The subordinate asked, catching only a quiet murmur from his boss.
"Nothing. Keep moving." Lord Jiu responded neutrally.
"Yes, sir!" The subordinate nodded.
Meanwhile, Qiao Meixia was already tearing through the city streets on her superbike, making her way home.
Arriving back at the Jiang Family Residence, she parked her bike in the garage and stepped inside the main foyer.
The grand living area was completely deserted and silent, giving Qiao Meixia a brief sense of relief as she avoided another senseless confrontation. She made her way upstairs and slipped into her bedroom.
Locking the door behind her, Qiao Meixia finally allowed her tense muscles to relax for the first time since leaving the Huangmei Clubhouse.
However, the vivid memory of those sharp eyes hidden behind the mask continued to linger in her mind.
She was absolutely certain she had encountered those eyes before.
But where?
Qiao Meixia frowned slightly, leaning back against the door.
She thoroughly despised the feeling of an incomplete puzzle, especially when it involved a dangerous man who had suddenly dragged her under a table, pinned her down, and dared to talk down to her with such familiar arrogance.
No matter. She brushed the distracting thought aside for now.
There would be plenty of opportunities in the future to uncover his true identity.
...
Yin Jiuqi reread the background profile on Qiao Meixia once more. The detailed intelligence report sitting in front of him felt completely detached from the living, breathing girl he had encountered in person.
"Yin Shan," Yin Jiuqi called out softly.
"Yes, My Lord. Do you require something?" Duan Yin Shan responded attentively.
"Are you absolutely certain the details in this file are accurate?" Yin Jiuqi asked, his dark eyes narrowing.
Duan Yin Shan glanced down at the document. Glancing over the contents, he could not help but feel a wave of confusion. Why was his boss suddenly obsessing over that particular profile again?
"Yin Shan?" Yin Jiuqi called out again when he noticed Duan Yin Shan spacing out.
"Yes, My Lord! Yin Chen compiled the background file on the girl himself. I am confident every single word in it is the absolute truth." Duan Yin Shan affirmed with a firm nod.
Yin Jiuqi looked back down at the file, still thoroughly unconvinced.
When he had clashed with that girl under the table, her combat instincts and muscle memory were blatantly obvious. If his own martial arts proficiency had not been leagues above her own, he might have suffered a serious injury back there. Her strikes were not wild or panicked. She knew with precision where to hit to land a lethal blow.
"Deploy a few discreet operatives to keep an eye on her. Make sure they are not discovered." Yin Jiuqi ordered smoothly.
"Understood, My Lord." Duan Yin Shan nodded.
"What is the current status regarding the Red Mansion?" Yin Jiuqi asked, shifting topics.
"We are still at a complete standstill. The master administrator has not logged onto the site since our last breach attempt, leaving us without a single viable lead. If only our team had managed to trace his IP location that night, we might have pinpointed his identity." Duan Yin Shan sighed, unable to hide his disappointment.
"Have Lei Yang keep a passive, continuous monitor on the server." Yin Jiuqi instructed.
"Understood." Duan Yin Shan said.
"What about Yin Mingye? Is he preparing to make his move anytime soon?" Yin Jiuqi asked.
"Likely within the next month, My Lord. Right now, he is fully occupied moving his illegal inventory out of the main distribution base." Duan Yin Shan reported.
"Oh? Since he is so busy, let’s go ahead and give him a few more things to worry about." Yin Jiuqi grinned, a cold, sharp glint flashing in his eyes. "Go burn his entire inventory to the ground."
Duan Yin Shan’s eyes flickered with quiet excitement. His boss truly possessed an endless appetite for orchestrating complete chaos.
’Well, then again, I am not much different myself.’ Duan Yin Shan thought
"Yes, My Lord. I will see to it personally." Duan Yin Shan agreed with a dark smile.
"You may dismiss yourself now. I am tired." Yin Jiuqi said, leaning back into his leather chair.
"I shall take my leave then, My Lord." Duan Yin Shan bowed respectfully before slipping out of the room.
Left alone in the quiet study, Yin Jiuqi reached for an unopened bottle of wine and poured the deep red liquid into a crystal glass. He swirled it gently, admiring the rich colour for a quiet moment before taking a slow, contemplative sip.
"Not bad." Yin Jiuqi murmured under his breath.
....
Qiao Meixia was fast asleep right in the middle of her morning exam.
She had not gotten a single wink of decent sleep the previous night. Her mind had been endlessly haunted by vivid dreams of that masked intruder, the arrogant man who had pinned her down in the private suite of the clubhouse. The frustrating scenario had replayed in her head repeatedly until she finally gave up fighting it and fell into a deep, exhausted slumber just before dawn.
When the teacher had dealt out the test papers earlier, Qiao Meixia had attempted to answer the questions while desperately battling her heavy eyelids. However, after finishing a grand total of two questions, her exhaustion won out completely, and she passed out cold across her desk until the final bell rang.
The class monitor, who was going row by row collecting the completed answer sheets, stood frozen in absolute speechlessness.
