I Am Not A Goblin Slayer
Chapter 1039 - 497: Profession Level: 10
Gauss felt the dense Natural Magic surrounding him.
His choice of this location for his breakthrough wasn’t random. His top-tier Magic Element Body granted him an affinity for Natural Magic unmatched by other Casters. Being in this environment accelerated his breakthrough, eliminating the need to prepare numerous Magic Potions in advance like many other Casters did. However, out of caution, Gauss still took out a high-level Demon Crystal and numerous mid-level Demon Crystals. If necessary, he would use the Talent effect of Feast to devour this solid Magic Power and replenish himself.
Taking a deep breath, Gauss closed his eyes. The moment he did, perhaps influenced by his intent, he instantly felt the Cup of the Magic Power Core deep within his body finally stop restraining itself. The originally powerful and stable ocean of Magic Power within him immediately surged into tempestuous waves.
"BOOM!!"
Nothing changed in the physical world, but if another biological entity capable of clearly sensing fluctuations in Natural Magic had been nearby, they would have instantly felt the surrounding world plunging into chaos. Gauss’s aura began to siphon energy like a black hole. Massive amounts of Natural Magic slowly swirled around him, forming a beautiful starry vortex.
His body quietly faded, becoming increasingly ethereal until he smoothly transitioned into the Magic Elementalization state. Tiny tributaries of Natural Magic flowed through tens of thousands of pores on his skin, permeating his body. His arms, brain, chest, and ultimately his entire being began to radiate a clear Platinum glow, making him look like a massive, flawless gemstone. Gauss felt his body become incredibly light, as weightless as a feather. In his Perception, the world at this moment became exceptionally transparent. He and the world seemed to merge into one, in perfect harmony.
Level 10 was a highly unique stage for all Adventurers. It was the theoretical pinnacle a biological creature could reach, the final enhancement before achieving a Level 11 Extraordinary body. Although Gauss’s combat strength was already vastly superior to the vast majority of Extraordinary Lives, that was only because his Attributes were overwhelmingly powerful. He possessed too many Profession specialties and Racial Talents, allowing him to break past the combat strength limit. However, this didn’t mean his body’s potential had been tapped to its absolute limit. Every living being had a different ceiling. Otherwise, special lifeforms like Giant Dragons, Giants, and demons wouldn’t possess mighty combat strength that could cross multiple levels. Didn’t those young dragon whelps possess Extraordinary power even at the Commander Level?
"HUM!!"
His body began to undergo baptism. His affinity for and control over Magic Power slowly improved. Moreover, stimulated by the influx of Natural Magic, the inherent Magic Power within Gauss’s body began to rapidly escalate. Threads of golden patterns spread across his skin. Even with a special affinity for Natural Magic, drawing it in was extremely dangerous for all living beings. In mild cases, Magic Power could run rampant, causing internal chaos and severe injuries. In severe cases, it could lead to irreversible mutations such as festering, crystallization, electrolysis, or petrification. Because Magic Power was a miraculous energy, humans could use it to manifest all sorts of incredible powers in the physical world. But once two different types of energy collided using the body as a testing ground, it could easily spawn horrific disasters.
Fortunately, Gauss’s body was robust and resilient enough. Both his Constitution and Strength were as high as 18 points. The mutations caused by the two streams of Magic Power were quickly suppressed by his body’s automatic defenses. Time slipped by swiftly amidst this continuous cycle of destruction, suppression, and regeneration.
One day passed in the blink of an eye.
In the utterly silent woods, the swirling Natural Magic around Gauss in the cellar had affected an area of several hundred meters, but now, the starry vortex was slowly retracting. The Cup of the Magic Power Core deep within his body had completely transformed into a brilliant Platinum, highly concentrated Magic Power polymer. Any drop of this magical liquid could unleash massive amounts of Magic Power. Furthermore, if a scholar who had studied the essence of Magic Power were present, they would realize that this inherent Magic Power seemed fundamentally different from that of an ordinary Caster. This difference did not stem from purity or quantity, but was a more fundamental change. In terms of its characteristics, it was now imbued with a trace of Natural Magic’s aura, which would amplify the effects of the Magic it released. Moreover, this fundamental change had not reached its conclusion; perhaps it would continue to deepen in this direction in the future.
Gauss’s consciousness slowly awakened within his mind. He opened his eyes, and in an instant, a gleam of light shot out several meters from his pupils. After a few seconds, it slowly retracted, concealing the phenomenon. He stood up.
"CRACK CRACK CRACK!"
Perhaps due to sitting continuously during his Cultivation breakthrough, his body emitted crisp cracking sounds, echoing like bursts of thunder. This was arguably the smoothest breakthrough Gauss had ever experienced.
He looked at the Attribute Panel.
"Main Profession Magic Envoy level increased to: 10"
"Strength +1"
"Constitution +1"
"Intelligence +1"
Strength: 18→19
Agility: 18
Constitution: 18→19
Intelligence: 22→23
Perception: 17
Charm: 18
The Attribute points gained from leveling his Magic Envoy Profession from level 9 to 10 were excellent, concentrating on Gauss’s three most important Attributes: Strength, Constitution, and Intelligence.
