I Am Not A Goblin Slayer
Chapter 1040: Profession Level: 10
Among them, his Strength and Constitution had both reached 19 points from the allocated points. Based on his experience with the Intelligence Attribute breakthrough, perhaps they would undergo some special changes when they each broke through to 21 points. Looking at the visually pleasing Attribute Panel, Gauss felt his already refreshed mental state become even more delightful. With such powerful attribute values, he could only say that the deaths of those Extraordinary Demons were entirely justified.
He stretched lazily and looked around the cellar. Amazingly, even though the surrounding earth had been completely unremarkable soil granules before he entered, the walls on all six sides had now turned into translucent glass emitting a faint, iridescent glow. Out of caution, Gauss chipped off all the surrounding glass and placed it into his Storage Space.
Afterward, he walked out of the cellar. As he stepped lightly with his boots, the ground beneath him instantly caved in. He glanced around, and after confirming there were no other anomalies, his body instantly shot into the air. Ascending thousands of meters into the sky, he fully unfurled the wings on his back and flew rapidly toward the frontline.
Just like when he left, Gauss’s return was remarkably low-profile, barely drawing anyone’s attention. Moreover, since his breakthrough took an extremely short time—only a single day—in the eyes of others, Gauss had never left at all. Although he hadn’t made any public appearances for a whole day, that was a very common occurrence. After the great battle, many Adventurers were resting and receiving treatment.
“Lord Gauss, you’ve returned?” Ivan, the chief manager of the Red Dragon Team, was one of the few people who knew where Gauss had gone.
“Where are Aaliyah and the others?” Gauss asked. His divine sense was now powerful enough to roughly scan the entire Red Dragon Team camp in an instant, yet he hadn’t sensed their auras.
“Ms. Aaliyah and her group have also gone into Cultivation. President Monroe arranged a safe location for their breakthroughs.”
Gauss nodded. Aaliyah and the others had been fighting on the battlefield from the very beginning, experiencing numerous campaigns big and small. Furthermore, they frequently led members of the Red Dragon Team out to clear monsters on normal days, so it was indeed time for them to achieve a breakthrough. Aside from Aaliyah’s group who had left, it seemed a portion of the ordinary members in the Red Dragon Team camp were also currently breaking through.
It seemed that the great battle had been a tremendous help to many of the survivors. For Professionals, wartime was also an era of Gold. It was entirely predictable that a massive number of Professionals would spring up in the future. With no acquaintances around to share the joy of his breakthrough, Gauss simply listened to Ivan’s work report and offered a few words of encouragement before leaving the camp.
After stopping a few Griffin Knights along the way to ask for information, he learned that Monroe was at the eastern city wall directing the Building Mages in repairing the defensive fortifications. Gauss quickly flew in his direction. After flying for a short while, he finally spotted Monroe.
THUD!
Gauss descended, and as his boots touched the rough city bricks, he landed steadily beside Monroe. Monroe turned to look at him, surprise flickering in his eyes.
“Gauss, my friend, haven’t you set off yet? Do you need some help?
“Please, just say the word. I will do my best to resolve it for you,” Monroe said.
Although he faintly sensed an unfamiliar aura emanating from Gauss, the timeframe was simply too short for him to consider that Gauss had already completed his breakthrough. Instead, he assumed Gauss hadn’t departed yet and had come to discuss something with him.
“…”
Gauss raised an eyebrow at his words. The changes in his Magic Power aura were so obvious, and he hadn’t even deliberately concealed them. He hadn’t expected the dense Monroe to still be completely oblivious to it.
