I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 1055 - 504: Four-armed Giant Gargoyle

It clearly possessed the ability to fly. The massive commotion it had made while walking earlier was merely a cat-and-mouse game, born of a malicious amusement to tease them.

Now, seeing its prey scattering in a panic, the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle finally stopped hiding its strength. With a flap of its massive stone wings, its seemingly cumbersome body quickly took to the air, rapidly closing in on one of them.

The Adventurer it chased didn’t look back, but the tremendous noise of its flight told him he was in a dire situation. The gale whipped up by the creature’s flight almost knocked his sprinting body off balance.

Fortunately, just before he lost his footing, a new surge of strength inexplicably welled up in his thighs. His trembling leg muscles suddenly stabilized, allowing him to clear the mound’s drop and land solidly on the ground. He executed a sliding step and veered in another direction.

But his crisis was clearly far from over.

Even though he tried to shake off his enemy with a sudden turn, the airborne Four-armed Giant Gargoyle took in his every movement. In mere moments, it appeared directly above him.

"SWOOSH!!"

Its four thick arms slammed down simultaneously at the Adventurer below. The Adventurer had anticipated the danger, but facing an enemy whose strength far exceeded his own, his actions seemed exceptionally futile.

Soon, one of the massive arms smashed into him.

He felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His entire body was instantly sent flying, spewing a mouthful of blood into the air before crashing into the ground over a dozen meters away. His Armor was deeply caved in from the devastating blow.

A Level 3 Ranger was simply too weak against a Level 10 Four-armed Giant Gargoyle. And this was considering that the creature was holding back to capture him alive. If it had struck with full force, that claw swipe would have shattered his body in an instant.

Just as the injured team member’s vision began to blur, several sharp shouts rang out from afar.

"Monster! Come over here!"

"Attack!"

"Don’t let it get near Parker!"

It was his teammates who had previously scattered in a panic. Upon their Detection that he was being chased, they had turned back to buy him time.

Parker endured the fiery pain radiating from the wound on his abdomen and struggled to his feet.

"BANG!!"

A small fireball shot from the Mage Staff exploded against the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle’s sturdy body. Aside from leaving a slight scorch mark, it dealt no substantial damage.

Gripping his sword with both hands, the Swordsman used his teammates’ cover to swiftly charge and flank the gargoyle. In its blind spot, he leaped high into the air with all his might. The Longsword in his hands flashed with a piercing, cold light as he viciously slashed at the creature’s thick neck.

"CLANG!!"

Its body was simply too hard.

Amidst a shower of sparks, the Longsword flew out of the Swordsman’s hands. The intense recoil knocked him straight to the ground. The gargoyle seemed to thoroughly enjoy this. It slowly turned around to look at the Swordsman, whose hands were trembling from exhaustion. Its hideous, Devil-like facial features contorted into a mocking expression.

It raised a massive leg, as thick as an elephant’s trunk, and stomped down.

"THUD!!"

The Swordsman narrowly dodge-rolled out of the way. The flying rubble grazed his cheek.

"Run, all of you!"

Having barely survived, the Swordsman felt no relief. He finally realized the monster’s true goal: it was toying with them just to lure in more of their companions. A small squad like theirs was entirely incapable of fighting such a powerful creature.

"SWISH!!"

Fireballs and arrows rained down on the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle once again, but it was as futile as throwing an egg against a rock. Its naturally formidable Protective capabilities made it immune to the vast majority of physical and Spell attacks from Elite Professionals.

It glanced back at the Mage and the Crossbow Wanderer, then continued raising its leg toward the Swordsman.

In the distance, the nearest squads were rushing over, and some had already engaged in combat with regular gargoyles. The Four-armed Giant Gargoyle actually took all of this in. Its darkvision was absurdly strong, allowing it to clearly see everything happening within a radius of several hundred meters.

They were just a group of non-threatening humans.

Just as its leg was about to come down, a fierce, blinding light suddenly flared in the distance. In the very next moment, the intense light closed in at a speed too fast for anyone to react. Through the dark night, a dazzling rainbow of light descended from the sky, crashing directly into the gargoyle’s seemingly indestructible stone body.

"BOOM!!"

The rainbow light instantly sank into its chest.

Before the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle could even comprehend what had happened, its multi-thousand-pound body was violently blasted away.

"CRASH!!"

The colossal creature plowed a deep trench into the ground as it tumbled.

The Swordsman squinted slightly. A familiar, reassuring figure had appeared in front of him.

"Don’t be afraid. I’m here."

"Commander Gauss!" his surrounding teammates cried out in pleasant surprise.

They never expected Gauss’s rescue to arrive so timely, even beating the nearby squads to the scene. Seeing his figure, their anxious hearts immediately settled. They swore they had never met a man in their entire lives who could bring such an overwhelming sense of security.

The injured Ranger, Parker, felt himself enveloped by a gentle, ethereal breeze.

"Do not resist." At the same time, the commander’s instruction rang by his ear.

He immediately relaxed his tense muscles, allowing the gentle wind to lift him up.

After executing his Wind Walk technique, Gauss swiftly transported everyone present to a safe location away from the battlefield before finally turning his gaze to the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle.
