I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 1056: Four-armed Giant Gargoyle

  • Next Chapter

The Gargoyle rolled to dissipate the force, offsetting a portion of the impact damage, but a sunken, cobweb-like scar still remained on its chest. Evidently, the Missile attack Gauss had just hurled had made it suffer immensely. It groggily looked at the only human still standing at the scene, its buzzing head gradually regaining composure.

“Did he attack me?” it wondered. From that human, it seemed to sense a highly fatal threat.

Suddenly, the winged human vanished from the spot. The Gargoyle subconsciously raised its four arms, crossing them defensively in front of its body.

Gauss blinked into existence right in front of the Gargoyle. The overloaded, concentrated physical energy formed a black, flowing, and intertwining mass on his thigh. This special energy provided solid protection while comprehensively enhancing the strength, speed, explosiveness, and reaction time of the covered area. Not long ago, when Gauss faced that Goblin Lord, he had initially been beaten so badly by this very ability that he couldn’t even fight back.

Gauss’s thigh lashed out like a long whip against the Gargoyle’s crossed arms. The air let out a sharp sonic boom, and rings of shockwaves blasted outward from the point of collision.

BAM!

The foremost arms shattered instantly. Then, the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle—whose size was countless times larger than Gauss’s—was sent flying by the kick.

In the distance, the team members who had already retreated to the safe zone watched this brutal scene, cringing collectively in fear. The terrifying enemy that had just driven them to a dead end was now as weak as a lamb to the slaughter in front of Gauss.

After kicking the Gargoyle away, Gauss immediately followed up with a storm of attacks. Empowered by the overloaded energy, his body transformed into a humanoid weapon. Jabs, sweep kicks, whip kicks… The tidal wave of blows quickly pulverized all four of the Gargoyle’s arms, its legs, and its wings. Finally, he pinned the limbless Gargoyle to the ground beneath his foot.

Although his proficiency with this new Overload Talent was far inferior to that of the Goblin Lord, his formidable physical constitution made it more than enough to crush this Level 10 Four-armed Giant Gargoyle. Though both he and the beast were Level 10, their actual combat strength could not be mentioned in the same breath.

“Kill me! Human!”

Devoid of its four arms, two legs, and wings, the Gargoyle had completely lost its mobility. Looking up at the human stepping on its chest, it roared in fury. It clearly knew that even if it begged for mercy, the human before it would never let it go. He was too strong—so strong that it had been reduced to a prisoner before it could even react. Its only regret now was probably that it hadn’t crushed those humans it had been toying with into a bloody pulp before he arrived.

“Don’t be in such a rush, big guy. I have a few things I want to ask you.”

Gauss staying his hand was certainly not out of mercy. His cold gaze fell upon the Gargoyle’s hideous face. Though it was his first time encountering a Four-armed Giant Gargoyle, records stated that these hulking beasts typically served as guards for massive tombs. Furthermore, with so many regular Gargoyles nearby, his instinct told him that they probably hadn’t traveled thousands of miles from the Giant Tooth Highlands. He needed to extract more intelligence from it. Where did it come from? Was there a massive tomb nearby?

“Hmph! You will never get any information out of me!” the Gargoyle glared at Gauss, speaking with unwavering stubbornness.

It was indeed a “tough guy.” From the moment Gauss descended and launched his attack, whether its chest was caved in or its limbs and wings were torn off, it hadn’t let out a single cry of pain. As a Gargoyle, it wasn’t a conventional lifeform to begin with. Its Perception of pain was incredibly weak, bordering on nonexistent. Given enough time, as long as its core remained intact, it could regenerate to its original state even if the rest of its body was blasted to smithereens.

“Oh? Is that so?” Gauss raised an eyebrow, not wasting any more breath on the beast.

“Spiritual Prison!”

His eyes locked onto the Gargoyle’s, and a powerful surge of Spiritual Power instantly smashed into its mind like a massive hammer.

“I look forward to seeing if you’re really that stubborn,” the Gargoyle heard the human softly say right before it plunged into darkness.
