I Am Not a Villain, Okay?
Chapter 10: Martial Artist’s Journey is Hard
Looking at their son, Sera realized they must’ve found the source of Levi’s problem.
But Morgan was still confused. He looked at his son and said.
"Levi, tell me what happened!"
Levi fell into confusion. He knew he had to lie, but he couldn’t bring himself to lie in front of his parents.
But Sera, being his mother, understood his situation and calmly explained.
"Levi’s situation must’ve been solved."
At this moment, Sera clenched her fists excitedly and smacked Morgan on his shoulder.
"Our son has awakened a special physique, Morgan. Can you believe it? Our son has a special physique?"
Hearing that, Morgan looked surprised as he turned towards Levi and asked.
"Is that so?"
Levi was also surprised and confused. But his pupils dilated when he realized something.
From the beginning, his mother had planned something.
The special physique was just an excuse she used to cover up something greater. This way, even if he did improve fast, nobody would suspect him.
’No wonder she brought those talismans from the hospital!’
Levi couldn’t help but feel speechless.
He realized why his mother hadn’t told Morgan about this.
He even suspected they had planned to give him that C-Grade Blood Energy Pill a day before yesterday.
It wasn’t some kind of spur-of-the-moment idea from his father like he thought it was.
Although he didn’t get the full idea of her plan, he understood enough.
Levi nodded and said.
"My Blood Energy Level reached level six, and I also awakened some kind of physique that gives me enlightenment."
"Dad, my comprehension of Five Beasts Form has reached Perfection, and Roaring Tiger Strengthening Technique reached Major Mastery."
Hearing that, Morgan couldn’t help but feel excited. He turned towards his wife and said.
"Great! Great! So, that’s why you wanted me to buy C-Grade Blood Energy Pill."
Although Morgan realized there must’ve been deeper secrets, he didn’t think much about it.
The fact he used that talisman meant he understood what he should say and what he shouldn’t.
Sera smiled with satisfaction and said.
"It’s great! Now, you don’t have to worry about being last in your class. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to afford another Pill of that level any time soon."
Hearing that, Levi shook his head and said.
"No need! Mom, with my talent and hard work, I should be able to increase my blood energy by one level every month or two."
Sera thought for a moment and said.
"If that’s the case, why don’t we use our remaining savings to get you a Golden Bone Forging Technique?"
Morgan nodded.
"That’s a great idea! There are still two years before your graduation. Within these two years, you can improve your Blood Energy Level to level 10 and form Golden Bones."
Levi tilted his head in confusion and said.
"Is that important?"
Morgan rolled his eyes and said.
"Martial Apprentices temper their bones. So, how could it not be important? I guess I have to explain this technique to you."
"First of all, in Apprentice Rank, you temper your bones, but during the process, your blood energy level keeps improving."
"This is problematic because once your blood energy level reaches 10, you will automatically become a Martial Artist."
"The problem is that Martial Artists also temper their muscles, which means you will not get time to temper your bones and can only take things slowly."
"But what if you can stop at 9.9?"
Hearing that, Levi asked.
"So, you mean to say that by stopping at a 9.9 Blood Energy level, I can use my blood energy to temper my bones to a higher level?"
Morgan nodded.
"In fact, there are different levels of Bone Forging. But the highest level we can buy is this. It forges Golden Bones by going through four sets of transformation."
"The first is Iron Bones. The second is Bronze Bones. The third is Silver Bones. The fourth is Golden Bones."
"Let’s just say if you forge your bones to iron level, you can fight someone of the same blood energy level without using any martial arts."
"With Bronze Bones, you can fight someone with a similar blood energy level and have a high chance of winning."
"The Silver Bones guarantee the win, while the Golden Bones allow you to fight someone above your blood energy level."
"That being said, if you get selected in the Top Universities, a lot of students will also have their bones forged."
"Even so, it’s quite amazing to be able to fight beyond your blood energy level."
Hearing that, Levi nodded his head like a chicken feeding on rice.
"Yes, yes, that would be pretty amazing."
Morgan laughed.
"Hahaha! And with your physique, you will definitely be able to practice that technique faster."
"By the way, what time is it?"
He checked the time.
5:45 AM
"I guess I will get you the technique tonight." Morgan said.
Levi nodded his head and curiously asked.
"By the way, Dad! Did you also practice this technique?"
Morgan rolled his eyes and said.
"Do you think I was born with level one blood energy? I was already lucky enough to have the talent to become a Martial Artist."
"It took me two and a half years just to reach a blood energy level of ten."
Sera looked at him with loving eyes and said.
"Levi, you can do what we couldn’t accomplish. We have already reached our limits, but your journey has just begun."
Levi felt his eyes sting.
Because his parents couldn’t achieve something, they poured everything into their children so they could achieve it.
His family situation wasn’t bad, but they weren’t that good.
The reason was simple. The highest level of strength in his city was Grandmaster Rank, which made his parents third-tier in the city.
If it were before, Levi would’ve been excited.
But his father recently told him that there were fourteen ranks.
Fourteen!
His parents were only on the fourth rank. They hadn’t even reached Grand Martial Master Rank.
Thinking about that rank, Levi took a deep breath and asked.
"Mom, Dad, with my physique, I will surely reach higher ranks, right? Can you tell me why you can’t improve to Grand Martial Master Rank?"
"Of course!"
Morgan didn’t see through his son’s intentions, but Sera did. Of course, she didn’t speak and let her husband explain.
"To become a Martial Master, you must awaken your spiritual energy and constantly train it using a Spiritual Technique."
"The problem with Spiritual Technique is that even if you have a technique, you also need talent to train your spiritual energy."
"By the way, do you know anything about spiritual energy?"
Levi nodded.
"I know it is necessary to reach Grandmaster Rank."
Morgan smiled and said.
"Wow! That’s a surprise. I thought the ranks were explored during the second year of your school. Never mind! I can explain this."
"Spiritual Energy is our soul power being manifested through your soul. This means to improve our spiritual energy, you must train your soul."
"The problem is soul-type resources are scarce. Without proper talent, using those resources would be a waste."
Sera chimed in.
"Levi, we can’t waste our wealth just because of a small chance that might not even work."
"Instead of that, we’d rather save it for you and your sister."
Levi clenched his fist underneath the table and said.
"So, to become Grand Martial Master, I must train my spiritual energy. Mom, how do I check my spiritual energy level?"
Sera smiled at her son and said.
"It’s not impossible to test it, but before becoming a Martial Artist, your normal spiritual energy level is below one."
"That’s the case with everyone unless they are the children of a Grandmaster or have special talents."
Hearing that, Levi excitedly stood up and said.
"Mom, I might have that talent. When I awakened my physique, I entered the enlightenment state where I was able to check my situation with just a thought."
"It’s like looking at a game profile. I saw my spiritual energy level being five."
When he said that, his parents’ eyes widened in shock.
His father instantly appeared next to him, holding him by the shoulders, and said.
"Are you sure?"
Although his father was holding him tightly, Levi quickly nodded.
"Ha-ha-hahahaha!"
Morgan burst into laughter, grabbing Levi and hugging him tightly.
Feeling his father’s tight embrace, Levi pitifully turned towards his mother, only to find her wiping her tears.
Levi was speechless. He could do nothing but let his father hug him for a while.
"Sorry! I got too excited."
Morgan finally let go of his son and apologized while massaging his shoulders.
"Why are you so excited? Is this number high?"
"High?"
Morgan couldn’t help but feel speechless at this description.
"It’s more than that. A beginner Martial Artist only has the spiritual energy level of one. At the Grand Martial Artist Rank, it goes up to five."
"Do you understand? With your Apprentice Rank, you have the spiritual energy level of a Grand Martial Artist."
"If you use spiritual art, you can essentially do a lot of damage. You can become a Spiritualist."
