I Am Not a Villain, Okay?
Chapter 12: Talent Matters
Two Minutes Later;
A middle-aged man wearing a blue suit came running in. He scanned the entire crowd with his eyes and found the boy nearest to the library attendant.
He easily saw Levi’s Blood Energy Level. For the second year, that was good but nothing amazing.
"Who is Levi?"
He didn’t make any assumptions and asked.
"Vice-Principal, it’s me!"
Levi stepped forward and bowed.
Bowing had become a culture for martial artists.
One was to show respect to elders, and the other was to respect the strong.
"What’s your full name? What’s your class teacher’s name?"
The Vice-Principal asked while walking in front of him. Considering that he had only heard the name Levi from the attendant, he wanted to know more.
Especially since Levi hadn’t even introduced himself to the library attendant.
"My name is Levi Quincy. I am from Class 2-B. My homeroom teacher is Ettle."
Levi calmly answered.
The vice-principal looked at the library attendant, who was sitting in front of a computer.
He gave a simple nod to the vice-principal.
"Alright! Then, we will start your test. It’s simple. Attack me with everything you’ve got."
The vice-principal raised his right arm and waved his four fingers, signaling Levi to make a move.
There wasn’t a lot of space, but for testing Five Beasts Form, it was perfect.
Levi nodded and dashed forward. With a single leap, he was already in front of the vice-principal with his fist rampaging towards his opponent’s head.
The vice-principal easily blocked it with his palm and swung his arm to the side.
Using it as momentum, Levi spun while extending his other arm and struck the vice-principal with the forearm of his left hand.
His attack didn’t do much. The Vice-Principal didn’t even block it as his forearm struck him on the face.
Instead, the Vice-Principal kicked him on his left leg. Just as Levi was about to fall flat on his face, he used the momentum to pull off a front flip.
His palms pressed the ground, and his body circled above the vice-principal. Both of his hands grabbed his opponent as he tried to lift him.
Unfortunately, the vice-principal gave him a chop to the wrist, weakening his grip.
As he landed behind the vice-principal, he was kicked on the back of his left leg.
Despite this, Levi didn’t lose balance; instead, he raised the kicked leg, supporting himself with his right as he landed a roundhouse kick.
The kick struck the vice-principal on the neck, but it didn’t do any damage. Instead, the vice-principal waved his leg away.
As soon as his left leg landed, he used that momentum to raise his right leg and kicked the vice-principal from the other side.
During this entire time, the vice-principal hadn’t turned his head.
But Levi knew he didn’t need to worry about that. If he could hurt the vice-principal, he would’ve been a Martial Master, not an apprentice.
So, he launched a barrage of punches towards the vice-principal, all of which he dodged with ease, and kicked him on the stomach.
Although this kick was light, his body still felt heavy on his stomach.
He managed to withstand the kick before charging forward with a punch of his own.
"Doesn’t it feel strangely ordinary?"
A student next to John asked in a low voice.
They were standing near the library attendant, giving more space for them to fight.
John looked at the battle. With his blood energy level at nine, he could see that Levi’s strength was equal to his.
Although this was shocking, it shouldn’t truly be shocking considering his monstrous mastery of a technique or a martial art.
But he also couldn’t see anything special about reaching perfection. Unlike that student, he didn’t speak.
The library attendant’s lips curled when he heard that.
"You can’t say that. Perfection doesn’t mean being good at one thing. It means being so good at something that you can’t find a flaw."
"Look at his posture!"
The vice-principal kept attacking him on the joints.
Each attack wasn’t heavy, but they were enough to break his stance, forcing him to change his move on the spot.
Despite doing so, all of his attacks carried the same level of strength as before.
Even when he was standing on one foot, even when he was standing on his palm, even when he was throwing rapid-fire punches.
Slowly, as time passed, Levi wasn’t just attacking. He was dodging attacks. He knew the vice-principal was attacking his joints.
So, he could predict his attacks and dodge them, but doing so would break his stance once more.
The test was not to see his strength but to see the perfection of the Five Beasts Form.
Where strength, balance, agility, speed, and power were released with not a single flaw.
"This is the true perfection. The attack power of the tiger never falters even for a moment. The speed of a leopard can be achieved with a single step."
"The body keeps moving like a snake, but no matter how it moves, the body doesn’t lose control."
"Throughout the process, the blood energy is used perfectly. There is no loss of blood energy."
Hearing his words, John turned towards the library attendant and asked.
"Sir, did you also reach perfection?"
The library attendant nodded.
"I was already twenty when I reached Perfection. You shouldn’t take Five Beasts Form as a normal martial art."
"When you practice Martial Art, you generally train one part of the Martial Artist Stats. Do you know Martial Artist Stats?"
John nodded.
"Attack Power, Strength, Defense, Speed, Endurance, and Dexterity."
The library attendant nodded and explained.
"Hmm! Each of those stats isn’t generalized for martial artists, but different Martial Arts focus on different stats."
"A good martial artist is someone who can use different martial arts simultaneously, but this isn’t easy."
"Especially if you don’t practice those martial arts to Major Mastery. So, does that mean you will not use them at the same time until you reach Major Mastery?"
"Of course not! You have to fight, and during a battle, you have to attack and move at the same time."
"Your speed and accuracy must be coordinated. Unfortunately, this is not possible if you don’t reach Major Mastery in both Martial Arts."
Hearing that, John muttered.
"So, we must practice Five Beasts Form to a higher realm."
As he said that, his eyes were drawn towards the battle. This time, he was truly focused on the battle, trying to absorb every single detail.
Seeing this, the library attendant had a gentle smile on his face.
But this smile only got brighter when he looked at Levi.
He never thought his city would produce a genius of this level. He had already seen his parents’ information.
They were good but nothing exceptional. More importantly, Levi’s yesterday incident recored his Martial Arts at Major Completion.
That meant within just a single night, not only had his blood energy level increased, but his martial arts also reached perfection.
’It seems his blood energy was used to awaken some kind of special talent, probably a physique.’
’I’ve heard about people awakening special talents before, but doesn’t it normally happen later?’
’I’ve never heard someone’s blood energy level stop at one point for almost a year.’
Although he was confused, he didn’t think much. He understood the importance of talent for their city.
The City’s name was Wuto-126.
This name was normal until you realized the numbers behind it. The meaning of this number was simple.
Out of one hundred and forty cities in the world, his city was ranked one hundred and twenty-six.
Their city hadn’t produced a single talented person for almost a hundred years.
Of course, the city below them hadn’t produced a single talented person for almost three hundred years.
This had something to do with two things.
First was the mutation.
There might be some exceptional humans, but most of them were ordinary. Without a proper mutation, it was impossible to become extraordinary.
So, the city generally uses special nutritional liquid for junior school students, preparing them for Martial Arts.
But this kind of nutritional liquid was supplied from the other powerful cities.
Without producing proper geniuses, they simply stopped supplying this liquid.
After all, this liquid cost a lot of money to make. They couldn’t waste it on a city where no genius would pop out.
Second was luck.
It was something that couldn’t be controlled. Some cities weren’t just lucky to produce a genius.
In fact, their city was lucky that a hundred years ago, there was a talented person who became a Great Grandmaster.
That allowed the top-tier cities to spend some nutritional liquid on their city.
People like Levi’s grandparents benefited from this. They weren’t talented individuals, but they became Martial Artists because of those liquids.
The lives of thousands of ordinary people could change with the birth of a single genius.
That’s why, while fighting, the smile on the vice-principal’s face couldn’t close.
