I Am Not a Villain, Okay?
Chapter 18: Big Shot is Coming Tomorrow
After watching the videos two more times, Levi was suddenly called out by his parents on his third watch.
He looked at the clock and realized it was already past eight.
He went downstairs and joined his parents at the table.
"Levi, why did you leave so soon today? I didn’t even get a chance to wake you up." Mirai angrily shouted while holding a fork.
Levi shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, sorry for not giving you a chance to jump on my stomach."
Saying that, he washed his hands at the sink and sat down.
"So, how was your day?"
Morgan asked with a beaming smile on his face while eating.
"It was amazing. Everyone was looking at me."
Levi couldn’t find a word to describe his feelings during the class. He was basically the center of attention.
Being a teenager, he loved it. If not for his good manners, he would’ve become more arrogant after all the attention he got.
"Well, this is normal. There have not been any records of people perfecting a Martial Art in just three years in our city."
"It’s harder to reach Perfection from Major Mastery than to reach Major Mastery from Entry Realm."
Morgan explained.
Mirai looked at his mother and asked.
"Mom, did you solve Levi’s problem?"
Sera smiled at her and nodded.
"Yes, your brother can now improve normally."
"Great! That’s amazing."
Mirai couldn’t help but clap excitedly. She was just a kid. Seeing her brother in despair and sadness hurt her more than anyone else in the room.
She tried to cheer him up in the only way she could.
Distract him!
That’s why she loved clinging to her brother.
"Brother, does that mean you will be a genius like Mathew Troy?"
Mirai excitedly asked.
"Well, yeah!"
Levi nodded his head.
Even if he didn’t have talent like Mathew, he had a system that could help him.
So, he wasn’t lying.
"That’s great! Levi is amazing."
Mirai excitedly swung her hands up as she shouted.
"Hehe! Of course, I am."
Levi chuckled.
Sera looked at her son and said.
"Levi, your sister’s reliance is you, only you!"
She didn’t explain it. With Mirai present, there were somethings that she couldn’t say.
But Levi understood it. His happiness suddenly hit the rock bottom but he quickly recovered.
"Don’t worry, Mom! I am a genius so is my sister. Isn’t that right, Mirai?"
Levi asked chuckling.
"Of course, I am a super genius. Mister Levi, you have good eyes. You were able to spot talent from this distance."
Mirai nodded her head with serious voice.
Watching their antics, both Morgan and Sera laughed as they continued with their dinner.
Although it was happy time, Levi’s heart had added another weight to it.
Previously, he didn’t know much about the polygamy situation. But after listening to his parents and his teacher, he understood the problem.
To say it was a bad thing would be wrong.
Without constant flow of powerful and talented youths, humanity could never reach the far end of the universe.
But to say it was a good thing would also be wrong.
Humans should be free. Love should be free. Forcing someone to marry someone was not a right thing to do.
Unfortunately, the Martial Arts have stripped them of this freedom.
A Great Grandmaster’s child would be born with blood energy level of ten. That meant every single child he had would be a Martial Artist.
What made this even scarier was that the child of the Great Grandmaster’s limit wouldn’t be Great Grandmaster.
It would be beyond that.
So, Martial Artists didn’t really have a choice. If they didn’t make this rule, they couldn’t produce more Martial Artists.
Humanity was no longer bound by their planet or even solar system. They wanted to explore beyond the solar system.
They wanted to reach the far ends of the galaxy, go beyond their own galaxy, make empires throughout the universe.
This was humanity’s ambition.
But without forces, without strength, this would be nothing but a delusion.
So, Levi could never force humans to retract this law. All he could do was to get stronger, strong enough to bend the law.
If a Martial Master kills an ordinary person or a Martial Apprentice, he wouldn’t be convicted of the crime as long as he could provide the logical reason behind his action.
This was the condition of their world.
With enough strength, not even the laws could touch them. Because they were more important than the world.
So, Levi wanted to be strong, strong enough to bend the rules for his sister.
At this moment, Levi realized that the more he came into contact with the Martial Arts World, the more he realized how cruel this world was.
"Mom, I have invited Mike and another classmate for the weekend. There is nothing important during this weekend, is there?"
Levi asked.
Sera paused for a moment and said.
"There is one thing. The news about your mastery of Five Beasts Form has been circulating among the Martial Masters."
"It seems your school is spreading this news all over the city. If I am not wrong, the City Mayor will pay you a visit."
"He might even support your training, using something tangible like a Virtual Pod, a Blood Energy Pill, or even Martial Art."
"So, you have to be present to receive him."
Hearing that, Levi’s eyes widened.
"City Mayor! Isn’t he one of the five Grandmasters in the city?"
There were a total of five Grandmasters in the City.
City Mayor, Branch Head of Paragon Guild, Branch Head of a Divine Sea Guild, Head of City Education Ministry, and Head of the Troy Family.
These five Grandmasters were the known Grandmasters. There could be more, but generally, these five were known throughout the city.
"Not just the City Mayor, even the Head of the City Education Ministry might visit you. After all, this city’s Martial Art System is under his jurisdiction."
Sera added.
Mirai’s eyes widened.
"Dad, is Grandmaster so much more powerful than you?"
Morgan nodded and said.
"A Martial Master like myself will not stand a single hit from a Grandmaster. In fact, just their blood energy is enough to defeat us."
Levi shouted.
"Impossible, right? Even if they have a lot of blood energy, they can’t just turn it into an object and use it to hit you."
Morgan’s eyebrows rose as he asked.
"What do you think?"
Levi’s eyes widened.
"No way! They can? You are telling me Grandmasters can turn the blood energy into a tangible construct?"
Morgan nodded.
"Spiritual Energy! Grandmasters can use their spiritual energy to mold the blood energy into any shape they want."
"Not only that, but they can also use blood energy to enhance the power of the spiritual energy and exert spiritual pressure."
"So, a normal Martial Master can’t even move in front of a Grandmaster’s Spiritual Pressure. That’s the difference."
"Wow!"
Mirai’s mouth opened wide in shock.
On the other hand, Levi had different emotions.
There was a hint of shock, but largely, it was excitement.
Grandmaster! It was a rank he wanted to reach one day.
Not just one day but very soon.
Suddenly, he remembered something and said.
"Wait, you said a normal Martial Master? So, some people can move in Grandmaster’s Spiritual Pressure?"
Morgan nodded.
"Of course, there will always be exceptions. In fact, for talented people and those who come from a powerful background, this is not hard."
"First of all, their spiritual energy will already be high. Second, their blood energy will also be high."
"Third and the most important is their tempering process. They will go through the Bone Tempering Process after a 9.9 blood energy level."
"They will also go through a similar Muscle and Skin tempering process after a certain level."
"Even if they just go through the Bone Tempering process and achieve Golden Bones, they can easily withstand the pressure of the Grandmaster."
"So, you need to train harder, reach a 9.9 blood energy level, and start preparing for training with the Golden Bone Forging Technique."
He said as he walked up, put the dishes near the sink, washed his hands, and went to his room.
A minute later, he returned with the scroll.
"No matter what, you mustn’t show this scroll to others, even your sister. The Martial Arts society is very strict about plagiarism."
"Even if your sister wants to practice this technique, we have to buy it again. Since the results of this technique are visible, officials will check everything."
Hearing that, Levi nodded as he finished his meal. He was the last one to finish the meal.
He ate a lot, like almost twice as much as his parents.
"Brother, can I start training with you?"
Mirai rushed towards her brother and held his clothes while he was walking to the sink.
"No! If you start training now, it will be bad for your future."
Sera rejected the idea without a second thought.
On the other hand, Levi saw the sadness and fear in his sister’s eyes when he turned around.
He realized that despite her carefree and fun attitude, Mirai was afraid of not having enough talent.
