Chapter 2: Intelligent Mother

"Levi, it’s time for school! Wake up, you lazy bum!"

A young girl nearly the age of twelve jumped into the air and landed on top of the young man sleeping on the bed.

"Aah!"

She landed exactly on his stomach, forcing him to wake up. His upper body rose while his eyes barely opened.

"Mirai!"

He roared, showing bloodshot eyes. Although that wasn’t very painful, it was still very disturbing.

The young girl pulled the bottom of her eye and made a face at Levi.

"Hehe! It was Mom who asked me to wake you up. If you have any problem, go talk to her!"

Levi suddenly grabbed her waist and threw her out of the bed. The young girl wasn’t an ordinary person, as she managed to spin herself in mid-air.

As she landed on her feet, she made faces at Levi once again and ran out of his room.

"Haa! Another day training!"

Levi sighed heavily and walked out of bed.

He entered the bathroom and walked out with slightly wet hair and a towel wrapped around his lower body.

After wearing a black tracksuit, he walked out of his room and downstairs.

There was a large dining table next to the kitchen. Three people were sitting in the chairs.

The middle-aged man had short black hair and black pupils, with a slender body, wearing a grey suit. He had slightly tanned skin.

He was Levi’s father. His name was Morgan Quincy. Their faces were quite similar, but Levi had inherited his mother’s white skin.

She also had black hair, but it was quite long, almost reaching her waist. She wore a long white skirt and a blue top.

Her name was Sera Quincy.

There was also Mirai Quincy. She was his sister and four years younger than him, not exactly four, since he would only be sixteen tomorrow.

"Levi, how is your Blood Energy Level?"

As soon as he walked in, his father asked without even looking at him.

"Shut up, eat!"

Sera snorted, kicking her husband in the leg.

"Dad, I really feel like I am not made for Martial Arts. Both of you are Martial Arts Masters. Mirai has already achieved Level 2 Blood Energy."

"And my Blood Energy Level is still 3."

Levi grumbled as he sat in his chair and started eating. He was truly devastated by his current improvement.

Every single one of his classmates had reached Level 5 Blood Energy. Only his blood energy was at Level 3.

Hearing his words, Morgan frowned. He hadn’t been keeping an eye on his son’s situation, so he didn’t know much.

"It must be because of your lazy attitude towards martial arts. Otherwise, how can you have such a low blood energy level?"

"It’s not!"

Sera interrupted him, raising her hand.

"Levi works really hard, but something in his body is absorbing his blood energy."

"Huh?"

Both father and son looked at her with confusion.

Levi never knew his body had something absorbing his blood energy.

Sera rolled her eyes and said.

"I work in the Moto-26 City’s top hospital as one of their best doctor. Do you think I will not test the reason behind his lack of improvement?"

"I can’t find the source, but every time he trains his body, the blood energy keeps growing, but before it was fully absorbed by the body cells, it disappears."

"This has been happening for almost a year. He is also your son. Why have you never thought of testing his condition?"

Sera looked at her husband, intending to put some blame on him.

Morgan silently looked away and muttered.

"I trusted you. I believed you could check his condition. Since you didn’t say anything, I thought nothing was wrong with his body."

"Wait, wait, wait, what do you mean I have something in my body? Like some kind of device or parasite?"

Levi almost jumped from his seat and asked.

"Eew!"

Mirai, who didn’t understand most of their conversation, showed a disgusted look at the mention of a parasite.

Sera shook her head.

"I can’t find it. The source is almost untraceable. I highly doubt it is within your physical aspect of the body."

"But I didn’t tell you because it wasn’t affecting your normal health. It must’ve been in your body for a long time."

"But it only started absorbing blood energy after you reached fifteen and started training with a Body Tempering Technique."

Hearing that, Levi tilted his head and said.

"So, why do I have it? Like, did I have any accident when I was young?"

Sera and Morgan shook their heads simultaneously.

"Let’s not talk about that! I have done my research. There is no clue, no idea about its existence in your body."

"We can only take it slow. Just keep the same attitude towards your training, and I believe one day we will find out the truth."

Hearing that, Levi bit his lips.

"But I am so far behind others. Everyone in my class already achieved Level 5 Blood Energy."

"Am I just going to watch them make progress?"

Hearing his words, Morgan’s hand stopped. He took a deep breath and said.

"I will get you a C-Grade Blood Energy Pill."

Sera didn’t look surprised at her husband’s words.

Hearing her words, Mirai excitedly raised her hand and shouted.

On the other hand, Levi took a deep breath and nodded.

"Yes, Mom! I will work hard."

Sera smiled and turned towards her husband. He didn’t show any smile, but she could tell he was happy with their commitment.

After dinner, they left the house.

Morgan drove Mirai to her Junior School while Sera drove Levi to the High School.

Levi studied in North Star High School. It was one of the most prestigious high schools in Wuto-126 City.

Woto was the name of the city, while 126 was the number of the city. There were only one hundred and forty cities left in the world.

Two thousand years ago, humanity faced its deadliest crisis. Nuclear weapons were unusable; missiles and bombs could only cause limited damage.

The world’s population went from billions to hundreds of thousands.

Continents were destroyed, the sea water rose, and the planet suffered catastrophe.

Fortunately, humans persevered.

Even with thousands of them surviving, they didn’t give up hope. Amidst evolved plants, animals, and invading creatures, humans adapted.

They took those weaker evolved beings, studied their bodies, and experimented on themselves.

After months of research, they found a method of direct evolution, and they used it.

Humans started gaining superpowers. These were certainly amazing, and with human creativity, they managed to fight back.

Whether it was invading forces or the evolved creatures, humans fought and won.

Just when humans thought they had managed to make a comeback, they found that evolution like that had a serious side effect.

Soon, they started losing their minds due to the overwhelming nature of those abilities.

The moment they lost their minds, those invading forces reemerged. They brought more and stronger forces.

This marked another catastrophe for humans.

But this led to the discovery of Spirit Trees.

Just like how plants and animals gained wisdom from their evolution, trees did the same.

But unlike other plants, trees just remained silent, protecting humans under their shade for years.

Whether out of pity or for another reason, Spirit Trees combined their energy to help one man regain consciousness.

A man who had awakened Spatial Powers.

With the boost from that energy and the sacrifice of his own life force, that man created a spatial barrier around Earth while also exiling all the invading forces and humans who lost their minds.

He was later hailed as the Savior of Humanity.

With their previous research and newfound understanding of evolution, humans took a rather safe approach towards evolution.

Instead of relying on fast breakthroughs, they found a way to improve their strength through effort and controlled abilities.

More importantly, they found that their children would always be stronger than themselves.

This method was known as Genetic Evolution.

And now, this has become the foundation for Martial Artist Experts.

Humans who almost went extinct two thousand years ago have now started exploring the world.

And the start of every single Martial Artist has always been an Academy.
