Chapter 23: Fourteen Ranks of Humanity

Within ten minutes, Levi reached the school. This time, he was running.

"You are late."

Ettle called out the moment he stood near the door.

"I’m sorry, teacher."

Levi apologized but didn’t explain his situation.

When he heard that voice in his head, Levi was stunned.

’Wait, human? Why in the class?’

His eyes scanned the room, and he immediately spotted Josh.

’So, I got a point because Josh was fearful of me. The system did say I can get EP from negative emotions.’

’System, what would happen if I make them envious?’

Hearing the system’s explanation, Levi immediately said.

"Mr. Mayor visited this morning due to my achievement, so I couldn’t make it in time."

Ettle, who was just about to lecture Levi about discipline, suddenly fell silent.

Shouldn’t he have expected this? Although he had only been here for a year, Levi was a good student. He had never been late for an entire year.

Unlike Ettle’s reaction, the students were indeed envious. After all, the Mayor was a Grandmaster.

He was the OG Grandmaster of their city, and he was more well-known than the leaders of the guild and the Education Minister.

That being said, surprisingly, Levi only received one point.

Josh immediately lowered his red eyes. His envy and resentment were flashing in his face like a headlight.

"Alright, come in!"

Ettle nodded and invited him.

Levi returned to his seat while Ettle spoke.

"Levi, did you get the notes about yesterday’s lesson?"

Levi nodded.

"Yes, teacher!"

Yesterday, he checked the notes after he finished his meal. They learned about three important things.

The first was an explanation of Martial Technique and why they were important.

The second was information about choosing the weapon and their ranks.

Weapons were also divided into nine grades, just like pills. Since none of them had used a weapon before, the discussion was quite long.

The third was the information about weapon arts. They were the Martial Arts, but only included martial arts with weapons.

"Good! Today, we are talking about the responsibilities of a Martial Artist. There are two main responsibilities."

"First is fighting, and the second is creating a healthy environment for children."

Ettle tapped his marker on the whiteboard where he had drawn a family tree while assigning each of them to a certain rank.

"There are only three Martial Gods and seven Great Emperors in the world. I can’t say much about War Venerables and War Saints, but they are the backbone of our world."

"War Emperors, War Kings, and War Lords are major participants in the Dimensional Wars. They are also tasked with exploring new planets."

"You have to understand one thing."

"Not a single person here is from the past. All three War Gods came into existence a hundred years ago."

"There used to be ten Great Emperors, but three of them became Martial Gods."

"The first one to become a Martial God is the Guild Leader of Paragon Guild- Martial God Oliver."

"The second one is the retired founder of World Federation- Martial God Carol. The third one is the Guild Leader of the Divine Sea Guild- Martial God Axon."

"So, humanity has always focused on the future of children. Federation and the Guilds will spare no effort at guiding them."

"That’s why they are willing to spend S-Grade Potion costing over a hundreds of millions of federal dollars if a genius emerges from a city."

Ettle turned towards Levi and said.

"The Mayor met with Levi because he has the potential to give this opportunity to our city."

"Even if you don’t receive any benefits, your younger siblings and forty percent of the ordinary people will."

Hearing that, Mike stretched his head and whispered.

"Does that mean I have to thank you for my two sisters?"

Levi rolled his eyes, but he was surprised.

"Didn’t you say you have a twin sister? When did you get two sisters?"

"Ahem!"

"Let’s continue our class!"

Before they could talk, they were interrupted by Ettle, who glared at them and started his lesson.

Levi noticed something.

Ettle had told them how talentless people, especially women, had no choice but to become wives of more talented men.

But today, he was glorifying the same thing using positive examples of future generations surpassing the past generation and why they should respect this law.

Levi didn’t comment on this. He understood this law was important for the progress of humanity.

Unless there was a single person in the world who could surpass every single race in the universe, humanity had no choice but to rely on others.

Humanity only had three Martial Gods. Although Ettle toned it down, he did say Martial God wasn’t even close to the peak of Martial Arts.

So, only the future generation could surpass the Martial God Rank, thus bringing humanity to the top tier of the universe.

During the class, Levi noticed that Dark Guild wasn’t mentioned once, even while talking about the powerhouse of the planet.

Considering that they were bad examples of society, it made sense.

But the fact that not even the Martial Gods had been able to capture them meant one thing.

There were essentially three Martial Gods in the Dark Guild.

The one guy who shattered the barrier, and the other two who seemingly received powers from Old Humans.

Levi was very curious about their power.

What powers did they receive? What are their limitation? Without their power, could they even face new humans’ martial artist combat power?

After the class ended, Levi took Mike to the training room. This was a big room with a lot of people training together.

"So, what brought you here?"

Mike asked. This wasn’t the first time they came here, but it certainly wasn’t their usual training ground.

The school day was six hours. They spent five hours in theoretical studies during their first year.

In the second year, they only had to study for three hours and use the other three hours for something else.

"Levi!"

Just when he was about to reply, Levi heard a call from behind.

He turned around and saw John waving at him.

"Senior!"

"Just call me John! Is he your friend?"

John had a big smile on his face.

When he called out Levi’s name, everyone stopped their training for a moment. After all, Levi had become somewhat of a celebrity in the class.

"My name is Mike."

Mike introduced himself and elbowed Levi.

"I didn’t know you knew third-year students."

"John and I met in the library. So, how is your Five Beasts Form?"

Levi asked.

"Hahaha! Thanks to you, I am very close to reaching Major Mastery."

John could feel his progress. It was almost visible, unlike before.

"Oh? Then, why don’t we fight?"

Levi asked.

"Is that okay? My Blood Energy Level is already past nine."

John hesitantly asked.

Levi gave him a slight nod and said.

"Don’t worry, I have practiced a Grade Two Technique to Major Mastery."

When Mike heard that, his eyelids twitched.

’Fuck! How many hours of practice do you need to reach this level in such a short time?’

’If Levi shows any interest in my sister, wouldn’t they work together to make my life miserable?’
