I Am Not a Villain, Okay?

Chapter 25: Earnings

As the battle ended, the hall started clearing up. Many students and teachers started leaving. Even John was taken away after a short medical treatment.

Since both of them were equal in strength and didn’t use Martial Arts, their attacks didn’t cause serious injuries.

Martial Artists’ bodies were already supposed to be strong.

Even Josh, whose leg was heavily injured, recovered in two nights.

Ettle walked in front of Levi and nodded his head.

"You did go. Your blood energy level had doubled. Using this fight, you have let go of the negative effects while also improving your fighting skills."

"Huh? So, Levi was fighting for that all this time?"

Mike shouted in shock. He turned towards Levi and slapped him on the shoulder.

"You invited me to fight you like this?"

"Ow! That hurts."

Levi gritted his teeth. Mike had struck him in the place where he was bandaged.

"Sorry, I’m sorry. Please, don’t invite me to fight!"

Mike immediately apologized.

Their classmates hadn’t left. Except for someone like Josh, who didn’t like Levi, others were very curious about the reason behind their battle.

After all, it’s not every day they get to see a battle like that.

"Actually, I was planning on training with the spear, but then I met with John and my fighting spirit surged."

Levi helplessly explained.

"That’s the negative effect of increasing your blood energy with pills."

Ettle replied.

Hearing that, Levi thought about those medicines. He looked at his friends, and another idea came to his mind.

"Teacher, can I participate in a battle like this again?"

"Huh? Why?"

Ettle frowned and asked.

Levi shrugged his shoulders and said.

"The Mayor gave me five D-Grade Blood Energy Pills in the hopes that I can increase my blood energy level to 9.9 within two or three months."

"If this is the side effect of using the pills, I need to counter the side effects with something else, right?"

"What?"

"Five D-Grade Blood Energy Pills! That’s like five hundred thousand dollars."

The students couldn’t help but feel envious. They never thought just being a genius would grant them a benefit like this.

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

[Ding! You made a human envious of you and received 1EP]

This was causing so much noise in his mind that Levi angrily roared.

’System, tone down the sound! No, just silence the notification completely! Only remind me when I get ten EP.’

His mood was complex.

Although he was expecting them to feel envious, he underestimated how many people would feel envious of him.

Just being envious wouldn’t give him EP. If that was the case, he would’ve earned thousands of EP by now.

Only when the envious person harbors resentment towards him would he earn EP.

He released a deep breath.

’It’s just some emotions. Don’t think too much! Don’t think too much!’

Levi consoled himself.

At the same time, Ettle answered his question.

"Considering not all students will be willing to fight you daily, I think you can choose to enter the Outer Ring of the wilderness."

"Outer Ring?"

Levi gave him a confused look so did the others.

At this moment, Mike raised his hand.

"I know. I know about this."

Ettle gave him a surprised look and said.

"Then, Mike, tell your classmate what Outer Ring means."

Mike excitedly patted his chest and said.

"Outer Ring is a part of the wilderness where humans have been hunting constantly. Because of this, all of the strong monsters have been killed."

"This idea was proposed by the Great Grandmaster from Duke-25 City. He said that using the weaker monsters, we can train talented Martial Apprentices."

"From that moment onward, the Outer Ring has been the hunting ground for Apprentices, but only a small portion of the Outer Ring is connected to our city."

"But considering that there has not been a single talented martial apprentice in our city, it is more than enough."

Hearing that, Ettle nodded.

"That’s right! So, if you improve your blood energy level too fast, you can go there. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve seen someone worry about this."

His words resonated with everyone in the room except for Mike.

Mike had a hesitant look on his face, but he didn’t say a word.

"So, can you return home in this situation, or should I call your parents?"

Ettle asked.

Levi shook his head.

"There is still an hour before school ends. I can recover within that time."

"Alright, then! Mike, take him to the infirmary."

"Yes, teacher!"

Mike helped him get up and slowly walked him towards the infirmary. At this moment, Sonya stepped forward and said.

"Can I come as well?"

"Wait, I can come."

"Me too!"

"Me three!"

"Me five!"

"Wait, why did you miss four?"

Another student asked.

Ettle shouted.

"All of you, go to your class or train here!"

Sonya expectantly looked at Levi, who had no choice but to agree.

Soon, three of them reached the infirmary.

"So, are you two gonna stay here?"

Levi asked.

Sonya looked a bit shy but said.

"I want to ask you something. Would you still have time to train with us?"

Levi nodded.

"Of course! I can’t go back on my promise."

Sonya nodded.

"I was just worried. With such expectation on your shoulders, you might get overwhelmed."

Levi chuckled as Mike said.

"Don’t worry about that, Sonya! This guy is a training maniac. How do you think he trained Grade Two Technique and Five Beasts Form to Minor Mastery and Major Mastery simultaneously?"

"Not to mention, his blood energy level wasn’t improving at that time. So, imagine just how discouraged it would be to see no improvement despite all that hard work."

"Even so, he didn’t give up. My life is pretty shit right now."

Mike sighed as he sat on the chair.

"Huh? Why do you say that?"

Sonya looked confused.

Mike sighed. He didn’t want to talk about it in front of Sonya, but he realized they would be training together soon.

Suddenly, he remembered something.

"Wait, your surname is Singh, right?"

Sonya nodded.

"Yeah! My full name is Sonya Singh."

"Then, you should know about the incident from seven months ago at the New Year’s Eve Party."

This was the 13th of August 2026.

Hearing that, Sonya looked astonished as she asked.

"Are you talking about the incident where a girl kicked the son of the Mayor so hard that he was hospitalized for two days?"

Mike nodded and sighed. He raised his head towards the ceiling and said.

"That’s my twin sister."

Sonya’s eyes widened.

"You look nothing like twins."

Mike rolled his eyes.

"Can’t you imagine me as a thin guy? Just take off all this fat!"

Levi gave Mike a surprised look and said.

"Your sister kicked the Mayor’s son so hard that he was in the hospital for two days, and the Mayor did nothing about it? There was not even any news about this."

Hearing that, Mike answered.

"It’s because of my mother. Have I told you my father has remarried?"

Levi rolled his eyes.

"No!"

"Well, he has, and I have three sisters in total. Well, you see, when I was only five years old, my mom disappeared."

"I won’t talk about my reaction, but my sister always wanted to know why she left."

"When we turned fifteen, our dad told us the reason behind her disappearance. Both of us were horrified."

"So, we started training hard. We wanted to bring back our mother. Until I realized something."

Levi paused for a moment and said.

"You gave up your resources for your sister. So, there is a reason why we became best friends."

Mike nodded.

"Yeah! My sister started training hard- no, harder. She trains eighteen hours a day, using four hours of sleep and two hours for other things."

Sonya murmured.

"All that training is enough to cause any Martial Master’s family to go bankrupt."

"Even if you give up, how can she still have so many resources to train like that? And why isn’t her name publicized?"

Mike sighed.

"Dad still has a lot of savings that he got from Mom. He doesn’t want to publicize my sister’s situation because she looks very similar to our mother."

"You know, for a Martial Artist, killing is the least among the crimes they can commit."

Levi subconsciously clenched his fist.

He had been thinking whether he should talk about the Dark Guild to Mike; after all, that stuff was quite dark.

But now he realized he had been underestimating his brother.

Mike didn’t just know the darkness of the Martial World. He was living with it.

Sonya’s eyes turned red as she realized why Mike had given up on martial arts. Not because of one sister.

Mike had three sisters. So, he had to give up all of his resources to his sister.
