Chapter 207: Ch 207- Phantom Walk (2)
Five minutes later, Mo Yuan arrived home and pushed open the door.
Inside, Mo Ran was lazily lying on the sofa, with Kitty resting comfortably on her lap. Goldy, as usual, was sleeping on a nearby chair, looking as though he had no worries in the world.
Seeing her brother return, Mo Ran raised her head and smiled.
"Brother, you’re back! Would you like something to eat?"
Mo Yuan nodded. "Make some noodles for me."
"Okay, Brother!"
Mo Ran got up from the sofa and headed toward the kitchen. Mo Yuan sat down in her place and glanced at Goldy, who was still pretending to sleep.
"Goldy, have you used up all your Primordial Qi Stones?"
The moment he heard Mo Yuan’s voice, Goldy’s eyes snapped open. He immediately sat up straight, looking as if he had never been asleep in the first place.
"Yes, Senior!"
Mo Yuan examined his aura. Goldy’s strength had increased considerably and he was already approaching the Sovereign Realm.
Considering that Goldy had spent so many years inside the Secret Realm, Mo Yuan wondered whether the little fellow knew how to break through to the next realm.
"Goldy, do you know how a beast can reach the Sovereign Realm?"
Goldy tilted his head and thought for a moment before shaking it.
"This junior doesn’t know, Senior."
Mo Yuan nodded. He had expected this answer. The Secret Realm had restricted its beasts to the Peak Realm, so it was only natural that Goldy had never learned much about what came afterward.
Mo Yuan then turned his gaze toward Kitty.
Her strength had also improved. She was now at the Peak of the Advanced Realm and was getting close to the High Realm.
Mo Yuan shook his head helplessly. Goldy spent most of his time sleeping unless there was treasure to find, while Kitty preferred staying beside Mo Ran. Neither seemed particularly interested in cultivation.
As if sensing his gaze, Kitty raised her head and let out a soft meow. She jumped from Mo Ran’s abandoned spot onto Mo Yuan’s lap and rubbed her head against his chest before licking his face.
Mo Yuan smiled and gently stroked her head.
"All right, all right. I know you’re a good girl."
A few minutes later, Mo Ran returned from the kitchen with a steaming bowl of noodles. She placed it in front of him and Mo Yuan quickly finished the meal.
After saying goodnight to Mo Ran, he returned to his cultivation chamber and closed the door.
However, he had no intention of cultivating Primordial Qi tonight. Since he planned to visit Frostwind Base the following day, he wanted to spend the remaining time learning Phantom Walk.
’With my Exceptional Grade Enlightenment Talent, reaching Initial Mastery shouldn’t take too long. I might even reach Minor Achievement before leaving tomorrow.’
Thinking this, Mo Yuan took the Phantom Walk manual out of his storage space and began reading it carefully.
The technique was quite different from what he had expected. It did not simply teach a cultivator how to move faster. Instead, it focused on coordinating the muscles, tendons, bones and Primordial Qi circulation throughout the body.
Every step had to be precise. The waist, legs and feet needed to work together, while Primordial Qi had to be released at exactly the right moment. Even a small mistake could cause a portion of the force to be wasted.
’I see. So this is how it works.’
After memorizing the important parts, Mo Yuan closed the manual and stood up.
He began with the simplest movement, shifting his weight from one foot to the other while circulating Primordial Qi through his legs.
At first, his movements were awkward. He could easily move much faster by relying on his Ultimate Speed Talent but that was not what he wanted to practice.
He forced himself to slow down and follow the technique properly.
Step by step, he adjusted his posture and learned to coordinate the muscles in his lower body. Once he became more familiar with the basic movements, he began moving around the cultivation chamber.
His footsteps gradually became lighter. Instead of wasting strength with every step, he learned to release force through a smooth and controlled motion.
Thirty minutes later, Mo Yuan stopped and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Not bad. At this rate, I should be able to reach Initial Mastery within a few hours."
He resumed his practice without wasting any time.
The night passed quietly as Mo Yuan repeated the movements again and again. His Exceptional Grade Enlightenment Talent allowed him to understand the technique at an astonishing speed.
Every time he made a mistake, he quickly understood what had gone wrong and corrected it.
At around one in the morning, his movements suddenly changed.
His foot touched the ground and his body shot forward in a smooth motion. For a brief moment, his figure seemed to blur, leaving behind a faint afterimage before he stopped at the other end of the room.
Mo Yuan looked down at his feet and smiled.
’Finally, Initial Mastery!’
He could feel the difference immediately. His movements had become smoother and the coordination between his body and Primordial Qi had improved considerably.
However, he was not satisfied.
’If I continue at this pace, reaching Minor Achievement before leaving for Frostwind Base should be possible.’
Without hesitation, he began practicing again.
By nine in the morning, Mo Yuan was still moving around the cultivation chamber. His footsteps had become so light that they barely made any sound.
Every turn, every shift of weight and every burst of speed flowed naturally into the next movement.
Then, his body suddenly accelerated.
He crossed the room in an instant, leaving behind several faint afterimages. Before they could completely disappear, he had already returned to his original position.
Mo Yuan stopped and let out a breath.
’As expected, I’ve reached Minor Achievement.’
He was not particularly surprised. With his current Enlightenment Talent, comprehending a Mithril-grade technique was not difficult. What amazed him was how much potential Phantom Walk still possessed.
’At Minor Achievement, it gives me a three-times increase in movement speed.’
Mo Yuan immediately began calculating.
His base speed was seventy-six Mach. With his Ultimate Speed Talent, it increased twenty times. Adding Phantom Walk’s three-times multiplier, his speed on Earth would reach 4,560 Mach.
If he transformed into his Shadowspawn form, the Shadow Blessing associated with his new race would provide another two-times boost, bringing his speed to 9,120 Mach.
And if he entered the Shadow Realm, where Shadow Blessing could strengthen him further, his speed would reach an astonishing 18,240 Mach.
Mo Yuan took a deep breath.
"How crazy is this?"
At that speed, he could cover approximately 6,256 kilometres in a single second while moving at full speed.
Even Peak Sovereign Realm cultivators were said to have a base speed of only around five hundred Mach.
Although their talents and techniques could multiply that figure, Mo Yuan’s current speed was already far beyond what most cultivators of that realm could achieve.
’With this kind of speed and my current strength, I should be nearly invincible among Sovereign Realm cultivators.’
He could not help feeling confident and when he thought about the Monarch realm, he shook his head.
’I shouldn’t become arrogant. The universe is vast and Earth is only a tiny part of it.’
Mo Yuan calmed his thoughts and glanced at the clock. It was already half past nine.
’I’ll focus on Phantom Walk again after returning from Frostwind Base. I still have Major Achievement and Perfection to reach.’
With that decision made, he put away the manual, left the cultivation chamber and walked out of the house towards Beast Association.
