Chapter 1890: Chapter 1021: The Heart of Orophin Floating City

Orophin Floating City,

The cold suffocation enfolded a chaotic torrent of spiritual power, yanking Lis back to reality from a brief dizziness.

He suddenly opened his eyes, his pupils slightly contracting.

What came into view was not the expected sealed barrier, but a dead, desolate, utterly ruined city.

Is this the Orophin Floating City?

Before entering, Lis thought that after entering the Orophin Floating City, he would encounter some special environment.

But now it seems, there doesn’t appear to be any abnormal occurrences?

He stood at the edge of the ruined platform of the Floating City, scrutinizing the surroundings.

The appearance of the area he currently stood in was no different than what he had glimpsed from a distance beyond the sealed barrier.

Only by facing the ruins up close could one feel the shock and chill of the Floating City’s destruction.

The entire Floating City felt desolate and lifeless, void of any vibrant color, the whole space like a massive grave abandoned by the world.

Lis shifted his gaze forward, where a severely damaged Mage Tower loomed not far away.

This building, which once represented the power of Legendary Magic, had long lost its former glory.

The upper part of the tower had vanished into thin air, with uneven breaks, rocks and magical components shattered and peeled, exposing the decayed magical veins inside, and at the fracture points, charred marks left by the explosion of violent energy still remained.

The remaining half of the tower stood askew amidst the ruins, its walls covered with spiderweb-like cracks, countless abandoned Magic Runes dim and lifeless, and a few surviving runes flickering faintly.

The magic power leaking from them was faint and brutal, silently speaking of a past catastrophic calamity.

The road beneath, cast from special alloy and magical stone, was now dilapidated.

Crisscrossed by deep pits and cracks of varying depths, some parts of the road had collapsed inward, revealing the dark void below.

Evidently, this place had suffered a tremendous impact, the overwhelming strength forcefully tearing apart the foundation of the Floating City and obliterating this ground.

What was most shocking was the blood scattered in the crevices of the road, among the debris and rubble.

The dark red and scarlet bloodstains were everywhere, some congealed into dark scabs attached to the broken brick and stone.

Others pooled in the low pits, still viscous and moist, the intense smell of blood mixed with dust and burnt air rushing in.

The bloody scene, as if the massacre and destruction were not a distant past, but had erupted suddenly yesterday.

Lis looked to the distance on his right, where a flat fissure cut across the entire Floating City.

Just as observed in the Floating City, this cut was smooth and straight, without any jagged shattered traces.

Nearly one-third of the Orophin Floating City’s plate had completely disappeared along this fissure, as if devoured into nothingness.

The edges of the fracture still dangled with scattered building remnants and broken metal components, giving off a feeling of desolate distortion.

The air around was turbid and heavy, interwoven with extremely chaotic magic elements and rampant spiritual waves.

Mad howls, an ultimate desire for destruction, and deeply engraved resentments intertwined, transforming into invisible tides, repeatedly washing over the entire ruins, seemingly to erode every living being entering this place.

Lis stood quietly in place, his expression calm, his eyes showing no panic.

A layer of light blue translucent Magic Shield securely enveloped him, like a solid bulwark, isolating all the eerie spiritual forces and chaotic magic power assaulting from outside.

To Lis, this sense of death-like silence was like an icy cage firmly encasing the entire abandoned Orophin Floating City.

The entire Floating City hovered beneath a gray sky, surrounded by turbid, dark clouds, without the sound of wind, the usual hum of magic power flowing, or even traces of any living activity remaining.

It seemed that the entire Floating City was left with only this chilling desolation and tranquility.

His spiritual power had already spread out, like a dense spider web, probing every inch of space within hundreds of meters, not daring to relax for a moment.

Since stepping into this long-abandoned Floating City, that bizarre and twisted special power had been haunting his senses.

Yet even after repeated probing, apart from this omnipresent strange force, he still couldn’t capture any anomaly.

This extreme calmness not only failed to ease Lis’s vigilance but made the wariness in his heart grow even stronger.

He could feel a terrifying sense of danger within this Orophin Floating City, but upon entering, he had not faced any attack.

Surely the eerie force within this Orophin Floating City isn’t welcoming him like the previous Great Arcanist did?

Lis knew very well that the quieter and intact the dead land appeared, the more terrifying the hidden dangers were.

The silent undercurrents were far more deadly than overt slaughter.

Lis slowly raised his right hand, fingertips trembling slightly, as a thread of extremely pure spiritual power merged into the drifting currents, pulling the eerie force surrounding him.

The next moment, countless chaotic and violent messages flowed into his mind through perception, causing his eyebrows to knit slightly.
