I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant

Chapter 217: Chapter 217: The Doctor is Currently Performing a Rescue
’Dad’s sick?’
Ryan Sterling’s thick brows furrowed. He immediately spoke to the person on the other end of the line, "I’m sorry, something’s come up with my family. I can’t continue the meeting. I’ll get in touch after I’ve handled it."
He hung up at once, grabbed the car keys from his desk, and rushed out.
As he walked, he called his mother back.
"Mom! How’s Dad? What did the doctors say?"
"His heart condition... it’s acted up again! We were just talking, and he just collapsed out of nowhere! The doctors are working on him now. I don’t know the specifics yet."
Florence Morgan’s voice was fraught with anxiety.
There was even a sob trembling in her voice.
Ryan Sterling got straight into his car. "Which hospital? I’m heading over right now."
"OmniCorp, by the emergency room entrance! Call me when you get here."
"Okay."
Hanging up, Ryan Sterling tossed his phone onto the passenger seat.
At the first red light, he picked his phone up again and dialed Julian Sterling.
’He’s really not picking up!’
He called several times, but no one answered.
Ryan Sterling’s brows knitted together, and he gave up trying to reach him.
He sped all the way to the hospital and hurried to the emergency room entrance.
From a distance, he could see his mother standing there.
"Mom." With his long legs, Ryan Sterling crossed the distance in a few strides. "Have the doctors come out?"
Florence Morgan looked up at the sound of his voice, her eyes red from crying. "No... there’s been no news at all! Your father... he hasn’t had an attack in a while. I... I thought he was better!"
"Was Dad agitated by something?"
"No! Things have been pretty peaceful and quiet at home lately. Nothing’s happened."
Florence Morgan secretly glanced at her son’s reaction.
’He must have actually believed me.’
’But because her younger son believed her, her guilt instantly deepened.’
Florence Morgan knew the children she had borne better than anyone. Comparing her two sons, the older one was actually a bit cold.
This was why she had hesitated so much this time, unwilling to have a falling out with her younger son.
If something truly happened, it was her younger son who would actually drop everything—all his work and other matters—to come and help.
As for Julian Sterling, he was more... rational.
He might even say he had a meeting, that he didn’t have time, and just send his secretary to check on the situation.
"Don’t worry, Mom. Dad has always had this heart condition, and he always pulls through. I’m sure he will this time, too."
Florence Morgan wiped her tears. "Sigh... It’s mainly that we’re getting older. Your father’s health... it’s definitely not as robust as it used to be! You know how it is. He’s had one illness after another these past few years. Mom is just so scared that one day, he’ll..."
Ryan Sterling raised a hand and gently patted his mother’s back.
"Don’t let your mind run wild. That won’t happen to Dad. Worst-case scenario, we’ll find better doctors. Don’t worry, I’ll handle it."
"The doctors you’d contact... can they treat him here in the country?"
Ryan Sterling frowned slightly. "I’m not sure about that. It depends on the specifics of Dad’s condition and... whether it’s curable."
At this moment, Florence Morgan knew she couldn’t be too aggressive. She was afraid her son would see through her, so she could only nod.
"Okay, okay! Your father and I are at that age now; we’ll listen to you on everything! As for your brother... you know how he is. His mind is completely on Eve, and he’s even neglecting his work! Your father and I can’t count on him for anything anymore."
