Chapter 230: Chapter 201: As Someone on the Other Side, I’m Telling You Not to Cross Over

Chen Yuan was ready to head out.

The remaining equipment for the children’s amusement area and the rest of the renovations were nothing he needed to worry about — his older sister and Wang Tao would handle all of that with the vendors.

His only job now was setting the prices.

The food and bubble tea side of things wasn’t his concern either. Yang Yangyang and her crew knew what they were doing, and he’d give it a final look-over when the time came. Shouldn’t be an issue.

Same went for the children’s park on the second floor.

Liang Chunping was a professional — she could handle it with her eyes closed.

But the Hot Spring Paradise on the first floor was entirely his own project. Pricing needed to be figured out, and there was the grand opening promotion to think about too. All of it was necessary.

"Boss Chen, don’t you want to check out the rooftop?"

Just as Chen Yuan was about to leave, Wang Tao called out to him and pointed upward.

"There’s something up there?"

Chen Yuan stopped in surprise. Wasn’t it only three floors?

"The rooftop itself is pretty simple — I designed it as a garden, with some lounge areas. Guests who stay overnight can come up here to eat, especially for barbecues. It works perfectly."

Moonlight, flowers, a few good friends raising their glasses together — it was the kind of easy, laid-back vibe that let you unwind and recharge after the daily grind.

As for mosquitoes in the garden, that was hardly a problem.

A few coils of mosquito incense and you could enjoy the scenery and the food without a care in the world.

"Let’s go take a look."

There was no elevator to the roof — just a stairwell. The moment they stepped out onto the rooftop, they were greeted by an array of potted flowers and plants, with ornamental trees ringing the entire perimeter.

Wooden deck panels had been laid as walkways, raised a few centimeters off the ground with lighting underneath. The garden itself was lit up the same way, and when it all came on at night, it would be absolutely breathtaking.

"Nice. Really nice~"

Chen Yuan was impressed. Even the no-nonsense guys like Zhang Hui found themselves taken in by it — there was something genuinely refreshing about the place, the kind of atmosphere that made your whole body relax and let you forget about the stress and headaches of everyday life.

You could picture it already: friends and family gathered up here, good food in hand, good conversation flowing, the noise of the city a million miles away.

For couples, you could set up a candlelit garden dinner — the romantic atmosphere would practically set itself.

"Alright, we’ve seen everything. Get the equipment and renovation details hammered out as soon as possible, then get moving on the fit-out. The sooner we can open, the better."

After wrapping up the tour, Chen Yuan clapped his hands and addressed everyone.

Nobody wasted any time. With everyone eager to open as soon as possible, Liang Chunping and Zhang Hui huddled with Chen Li and Wang Tao to go over the renovation plans, occasionally heading up to the second floor to work out the layout and fit-out details for the children’s park.

Chen Jun and Tang Ying’s group started getting ready to head back.

"That kitchen is massive."

"There are so many burners — if we all work together in there, we’ll be twice as efficient."

"I noticed there’s a good spot for pulling noodles too. Maybe we should think about expanding the menu."

On the way downstairs, Tang Ying and the others couldn’t stop raving about the kitchen space. Not only was it huge, but everyone could work side by side, and if someone took a day off, it wouldn’t throw everything into chaos.

Right now the boxed meal operation was split into four separate teams scattered across different locations, so whenever someone called in, one person was left holding the fort and had to scramble to find cover.

Coordinating staff would be so much easier going forward.

And since the new place ran on gas — no manually lighting fires — it saved even more manpower. The whole operation would run twice as smoothly, and the working conditions would be second to none.

They were even already talking about adding new dishes to the menu.

This was shaping up to be something big.

"Picking up and dropping off guests from Old Pond’s place will be way more convenient too."

"If you ask me, they should’ve just expanded the parking lot all the way out — put the entire park above a single-level underground lot and you’d have all the parking you’d ever need."

Chen Jun and his crew had their minds on something else entirely — the parking situation, which was directly tied to shuttling guests back and forth, the most critical part of their daily routine.

With two levels of parking going forward, efficiency was only going to improve.

"Yuan, these hot springs you’ve set up are something else. Think we’d be able to come soak sometime?"

"Soak your ass — you’re out in the fields every single day, you come back absolutely filthy. You jump in there and you’d single-handedly trash an entire pool~"

The villagers had their own set of priorities.

The upper floors weren’t finished yet, so they’d taken a quick peek and come straight back down. The hot springs were what really caught their eye — plenty of them had never even been in a hot spring before.

"Ha, of course you can come soak. Going forward, all villagers get the same treatment as members — twenty percent off across the board."

Chen Yuan said with a grin.

Every little bit of business counted. If the villagers wanted to come and have fun, he was happy to take their money too.

"Twenty percent off? Can’t we just get in for free?"

"Are you out of your damn mind? The twenty percent discount is what paying members get, and a membership costs fifteen thousand yuan. What have you put in that you think you deserve it for free?"

"Cheap bastard. Won’t spend a dime of his own but wants to bleed everyone else dry."

One villager floated the idea of getting in for free, and the rest of them immediately gave him grief for it.

Yuan was running a business here, not a charity. Twenty percent off was already the deal reserved for paid fishing pond members.

Speaking of which — what even was a membership?

Some of the villagers had noticed the sofas by the fishing pond a while back and asked about it out of curiosity. They’d learned it was an exclusive members-only perk, and a single membership ran fifteen thousand yuan.

"Ha, well, free isn’t completely out of the question."

Chen Yuan pulled out a pack of cigarettes and called the villagers over, lit one up himself, took a long drag, and said, "Anyone who becomes a fishing pond employee gets free access — for themselves only. Friends and family get thirty percent off."

He was always going to give the villagers a deal, but outright free wasn’t happening — otherwise everyone would pile in and there’d be no business left to run.

If you wanted free, you could earn it by joining the staff. That way it also gave the villagers a real incentive to come work at the fishing pond.

And once they were employees, how much free time would they actually have to go play around anyway — unless they were on their days off.

As a bonus, the friends-and-family discount might even bring in a few referrals.
