I Can Control Resources
Chapter 675: Gao Neng is a Dragon: Shocking the Human Alliance
Who would believe it?
You, a single human, have taken control of twenty-five other races?!
In the Northern District Battlefield!
Twenty-five races, seventeen of the Strongest… Even if you’ve broken through to the ninth rank, you’re still just ninth rank. How did you manage to control these members of the Strongest and their races?
“Gao Neng, this is no time for jokes,” Li Tiannan said, waving a hand dismissively. “The Beast Race will probably launch their attack soon. Shouldn’t we be discussing our strategy?”
“What are the limitations of your Space Travel? What I mean is… if we can make good use of it, we should have a chance to fend off the Beast Race’s attack!” Shen Changsheng was clearly still fixated on Gao Neng’s ‘Space Travel’ ability. This was the second time he’d asked this question.
“Commander Shen, here are twenty tokens. When the twenty Dragon List Geniuses arrive, give these to them!” Gao Neng pulled twenty tokens he had prepared earlier from within his coat and handed them to Shen Changsheng.
“…” Shen Changsheng looked like he wanted to say something more.
But when he saw the tokens, he quickly accepted them. He picked one up to examine it, a flash of surprise in his eyes.
Because, even with his level of power…
He couldn’t identify the material the tokens were made from.
“They’re specially made. There are only twenty in the entire Human Alliance, and they can’t be faked,” Gao Neng said with a grin.
“Oh, alright. And what do these tokens do?” Shen Changsheng nodded, deciding to play along for now.
“On the surface, they represent orders from the Supreme Council,” Gao Neng said again.
“The surface? And their real purpose?” Shen Changsheng asked, surprised.
“They *are* the limitation you’ve been asking me about, Commander Shen.” The corners of Gao Neng’s lips curved into a smile.
“!!!” Shen Changsheng was truly stunned this time.
‘These tokens… they’re the limitation for his Space Travel?’
But aside from the various shapes on their surfaces—triangles, circles, squares, rectangles, and so on…
In short, each of the twenty tokens had a different shape on it.
‘Clearly, the limitation has nothing to do with the shapes.’
‘So, besides the shapes, the only other explanation would be the special material of the tokens, wouldn’t it?’
“Is it the material? Where did you get this material? Can it be replicated? What I mean is… can we make more of them?”
“Commander Shen, I’ve already told you. There are only twenty, and there won’t be any more,” Gao Neng said with a small smile. This was the first time he had formally interacted with Shen Changsheng.
‘He had always thought that Shen Changsheng, as the deputy commander of the Eastern District Fortress, would be a serious and aloof type.’
‘But that didn’t seem to be the case at all.’
‘Shen Changsheng appeared somewhat stern on the surface, but inwardly, he was quite passionate, always seeming to be searching for a way to ‘save’ the Alliance.’
‘So the grandfather and granddaughter really do have something in common!’
‘In a way, Shen Ning’Er’s personality was also a case of ‘what you see isn’t what you get.’ She seemed aloof, but deep down, she was a little vixen.’
…
Ultimately, Shen Changsheng decided to drop the subject.
‘Twenty tokens, representing twenty different teleportation points, was already quite a lot, actually.’
‘As for replicating this ability…’
‘The thought had crossed his mind, but it was just a fleeting one. After all, the Gao Neng of today wasn’t someone he could just haul off for research on a whim.’
‘To put it bluntly…’
‘If they really came to blows…’
‘…it was hard to say who would end up studying whom.’
‘Sigh, I used to think this kid was a genius, but it turns out he’s a monster. Reaching the ninth rank in the blink of an eye… At this rate, my grandson-in-law seems a bit *too* formidable, doesn’t he?’ Shen Changsheng pondered for a moment, then shook his head. ‘Oh well. At least it’s better than Fang Yuan’s granddaughter, who’s constantly throwing herself at some guy and still getting nowhere!’
Shen Changsheng was an open-minded man.
Just as Shen Fei had said when he first met Gao Neng at the Eastern Capital Military Academy, their Shen Family would never sacrifice a granddaughter’s happiness for something like a political marriage.
‘A harmonious family prospers in all things!’
The Shen Family had made countless sacrifices for the Alliance over the years, yet the family itself remained harmonious. This was the very reason why.
Shen Changsheng glanced into the distance.
He was just in time to see Gao Neng pulling Shen Ning’Er into a military tent.
“???”
‘Aren’t we supposed to be holding a Supreme Council meeting?’
‘Wu Qingjing is waiting for us!’
‘What the hell?!’
‘Are they in that much of a hurry?’
‘Could it be… Ning’Er and that boy have already crossed that line?’
‘No way…’
Shen Changsheng desperately wanted to go take a look, but he stopped after just two steps. Even though Shen Ning’Er was his granddaughter, spying on them… didn’t seem right, did it?
‘Forget it. I’m an open-minded man… I’m very open-minded!!!’ With a complicated expression, Shen Changsheng let out a conflicted sigh.
「In a military tent not far away.」
Shen Ning’Er quietly watched Gao Neng as he patted himself down all over. Of course, she didn’t think he was trying to use this moment to do something untoward.
And yet, Gao Neng had pulled her in here so mysteriously.
“Is something the matter?” Shen Ning’Er asked.
“Yeah, I need you to pick one of these. Right, let me explain first. This is water from the Blood Race’s Blood Pool. If you drink it, your regenerative abilities will become incredibly strong. This one is from the Werewolf Race; it can enhance your physical strength. And then there’s this from the Yeti Race, the Ice River Race, the Glacier Race, the High Mountain Race…”
“You… plundered all of these?” Shen Ning’Er asked. Looking at the scene before her, she naturally understood why Gao Neng had brought these things out.
“More or less,” Gao Neng replied with a nod, pushing the entire pile of bottles in front of Shen Ning’Er. “Pick one. See which one you want to drink first.”
