Chapter 128 - 123: Crisis
Chapter 128: Chapter 123: Crisis
"Little White Wolf, it’s your turn to strike!" Su Tan said.
"Hehe... no problem. My claws have been itching for a fight for a long time," Little White Wolf replied.
"You need to block them at the entrance for an hour. I will use all the power of the Divine Mansion to help you!" the Fat Monk said, his expression grim.
"Just an hour? Piece of cake. With me here, those Yin Demons can forget about crossing the boundary!" Little White Wolf said nonchalantly.
After a moment’s thought, he added, "As long as the Strongest in the black mist doesn’t intervene!"
"You don’t need to worry about that. It can’t intervene. That move just now was already its limit," the Monk explained. "The issues it has are definitely not fully resolved yet. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have opened up a new battle Dao Wormhole. It would have directly destroyed the protective barrier and attacked the weak spots that were previously shattered into scattered, unclosed Wormholes... Those areas are much easier to break through.
"However... if it attacked those spots directly, the entire protective barrier would collapse. The resulting storm of destruction would sweep through the entire Yin Demon Prison. It wouldn’t be able to handle the aftermath of that explosion. If that happened, the entire Yin Demon Race... would likely be wiped out!
"It might even perish itself... so, rest assured."
"So much nagging... After all that, you’re just saying it can’t make a move, right? You could have just said it definitely can’t do anything. All this blabbering... so annoying!" Little White Wolf cast an impatient glance at the Monk. "Hurry up. The experts of the Yin Demon Race are about to cross the line. Teleport me over there right now. While you’re yapping away here, they’re already charging at us."
The Monk took a deep breath. SWISH. He pulled a Token from his robes and drew a circle in the air. Instantly, a Void Gate sparking with embers appeared.
"The other side of the teleportation gate is the battlefield!" the Monk said.
Little White Wolf walked up to the Void Gate and huffed impatiently, "So annoying... wouldn’t Mr. Wolf know that?"
The Monk spoke solemnly. "There is one thing... I need to tell you in advance. Because the Strongest opened this passage, the aura of world-destroying devastation still lingers. Any Yin Demon that walks through that gate will possess a special ability...
"True damage!
"Any Yin Demon that comes through that gate can deal genuine damage to any creature in the Void God Realm. If you get hurt here... you’ll be hurt in the real world too. If you die here, you’ll die in the real world!"
His expression grew even graver as he continued. "In other words, if you step out now, you might die. You’ll be facing Yin Demons that can truly kill you, Saint Dao experts of the Yin Demon Race. Even though I can use the power of the Divine Mansion to help you... the odds are still heavily against you. Do you still want to step out?"
Hearing this, Little White Wolf’s body trembled violently. He froze. The paw that was about to step into the teleportation gate stopped in mid-air!
"So annoying..." He glanced back at Su Tan, completely ignoring the Fat Monk, his gaze turning resolute. "Mr. Wolf won’t die!"
With that, he hesitated no longer and raised his paw to step through.
"Wait..." Su Tan called out. "Here, take these." He tossed the Weakness Token he carried, along with various other useful and useless treasures, to the White Wolf. "Don’t die!"
"I’ll give you these as well. Hopefully, they can help you." The Fat Monk also pulled out various functional Tokens from his robes.
"Frenzy Order: Instantly increases attack power by 1000%, with a chance to deal two to five times damage during this period. Duration: 20 seconds. Cooldown: 10 minutes.
"Magic Immunity Order: Upon use, envelops you in a black barrier that absorbs Magic attacks for 20 seconds. Cooldown: 10 minutes.
"Vajra Indestructible Order: Increases physical damage by 200%. Duration: 3 minutes. Cooldown: 20 minutes.
"Continuous Damage Order: Inflicts continuous damage to enemies’ vitality. Duration: 1 minute. Cooldown: 20 minutes.
"There’s also the Healing Order and Instant Transfer Order..."
They gave Little White Wolf every possible advantage they had. "We’ll be right behind you, watching your back..."
"You had all these good things and didn’t take them out sooner? How stingy are you?" With a wave of his paw, Little White Wolf swept all the Tokens into his Storage Space. "I’m off!"
Saying that, he calmly stepped into the teleportation gate and vanished from the Divine Mansion, still looking as nonchalant as ever. However, both Su Tan and the Monk knew exactly what taking that step meant...
They felt a pang of sorrow in their hearts as they watched Little White Wolf leave.
Even though they had given Little White Wolf plenty of trump cards, the Fat Monk still wasn’t optimistic about this battle. Little White Wolf was very strong, but there were Yin Demons out there who were even stronger. Furthermore... this time, the Yin Demons could truly kill him. It was an unprecedented crisis.
"Winning... is still going to be very difficult..." the Fat Monk muttered to himself. "Sigh... I just don’t think he can hold off the battle Dao Wormhole all by himself!"
For some unknown reason, upon hearing the Fat Monk say this, Su Tan—who had been feeling incredibly tense—inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t know why.
"Unless..." the Monk continued, "we can find... and use *that* thing to lend him a helping hand. But... that thing is incredibly difficult to find. And even if we do find it, it’ll definitely be impossible to bring out!"
"???" Su Tan asked, "Where is this thing you’re talking about? Is it far from here?"
"It’s right here in the Void God Realm, in the Treasure Burial Realm. If you want to go, we can teleport there directly. But that place is too bizarre. Even I don’t fully understand its secrets. Even if we go in..."
"..."
"I’ll go find it. You stay here and keep watch," Su Tan decided.
For one thing, he had no other options; he had to try. Even if there was only a sliver of hope, as long as it could help Little White Wolf, it was worth a shot. On the other hand... the Monk had already hit them with his reverse jinx. With a jinx like that, no matter how slim the chances were, they would definitely find it. If he didn’t go, wouldn’t he be letting down the Monk’s "jinxing mouth"?
"No need, I’ll go with you. As for Little White Wolf, I’ll just check the ’Child of Destiny’ option for him in the Void God Realm. With so many trump cards, he should be able to hold out until we get back."
"Are you sure?"
"I’m sure. Do you know what a Child of Destiny is? What it means to be favored by the Great Dao?" the Monk said with absolute confidence. "Besides, that place is very bizarre. I have to go and lead the way, or you might be trapped in there forever."
Following that, the Monk tore open the void. "Don’t dawdle! We don’t have much time... Hurry!"
Su Tan thought about it. He knew absolutely nothing about this so-called Treasure Burial Realm. Following the Monk, he stepped in, entering the Void God Realm’s Treasure Burial Realm.
As Su Tan stepped through the teleportation gate, he felt that he had left the Divine Mansion and was now in an unfamiliar, cold, and gloomy place.
All around him... it was quiet!
A deathly silence!
It was as if they had entered a place devoid of sound. There wasn’t even the slightest noise. THUMP THUMP THUMP... It was so quiet that he could hear his own heartbeat.
"This place belongs to eternal darkness. There isn’t a single ray of light. The darkness here... is hollow and terrifying. It swallows light. Even if you light a fire, you won’t see a sliver of brightness. You won’t even be able to see the fire itself or the light source. If you light a flame, all you will see is darkness, as if you’ve gone blind."
So, it wasn’t just quiet—it was completely pitch-black too!
However, none of this seemed to affect Su Tan. He was already blind to begin with. To him, this place felt perfectly normal. The only difference between here and the outside world was that it was extremely quiet.
"Rumor has it that if you want to light up this world and control the Treasure Burial Realm, you have to find the lost control Token. It can illuminate the Treasure Burial Realm and grant you control over it. However, that Token has been lost for a very long time. Trying to find it in the vast expanse of the Treasure Burial Realm is like looking for a needle in a haystack!" the Monk said. "It would be hard enough to find even if you could see, let alone in the absolute darkness of the Treasure Burial Realm!"
SWISH.
Without saying a word, Su Tan instinctively expanded his Overlord Body Realm.
"Huh?"
He discovered that his Overlord Body Realm was completely unrestricted here. Just like in the outside world, he could still "see" his surroundings. Even though he could only see simple outlines and shapes of objects, it was enough to surprise him.
Su Tan thought about it and deduced two possible reasons.
First, his Overlord Body Realm had already surpassed what this plane of existence could comprehend. In this world, it was generally believed that the strongest Overlord Body Bloodline was merely intermediate tier... but Su Tan’s was a whole level higher than the Overlord Body Bloodlines of this world.
Second, his blindness wasn’t just simple blindness; it was more like he had been subjected to some special restriction... The fact that the Overlord Body Realm could bypass that restriction was perhaps the very reason he could still "see" here.
He strolled forward, scanning his surroundings.
TAP TAP TAP...
The sound of his footsteps gradually drifted further away.
"Hey, hey, hey... don’t go too far! If you get lost here, you’ll be forever swallowed by the darkness and locked in here," the Fat Monk called out anxiously upon hearing Su Tan walking away. The Monk was truly experiencing what it felt like to be completely in the dark. It was incredibly uncomfortable.
"Is the Token you mentioned called the Burial Treasure Realm Control Order?" Su Tan suddenly asked after a moment.
"Yes..." As soon as he agreed, the Monk realized something wasn’t right. "Wait... how do you know the Treasure Token’s name?"
"If I’m not mistaken, this is the Token you’re looking for!" Su Tan said calmly. He reached down and picked up a Token from the ground that had been covered in a thick layer of dust.
"What Token? You found the Token?" the Monk asked in disbelief.
"You’ll know if you take a look..." Su Tan paused. "Oh... right, you can’t see!"
