Chapter 129: Chapter 124: Now Is Not the Time to Show Off
He suddenly recalled the Monk mentioning that the Treasure Burial Realm could devour even light.
"If my guess is right, this token is the Burial Treasure Realm Control Order!" Su Tan could clearly trace the grooves of the large characters carved into its surface.
The Burial Treasure Realm Control Order!
The token was about the size of a palm. It wasn’t made of gold, iron, stone, or jade. Though crafted from an unknown material, it felt heavy and substantial in his hand. Running his fingers lightly over its surface, he felt a series of intricate patterns. It exuded a vast, primal aura, carrying the distinct scent of ancient times.
"Did you really find it?" Su Tan walked up to the flustered Fat Monk and handed the token to him. "Here."
The Monk took the token, rubbing it with both hands. He recognized the Burial Treasure Realm Control Order. The moment it touched his hands, he already had a strong inkling. After tracing the patterns on its surface, he was absolutely certain—this was indeed the token that had been lost to the ages.
"It... it really is... the Burial Treasure Realm Control Order!" the Monk said in sheer disbelief, stuttering as he spoke. "How... how did you find it?"
"On the ground," Su Tan replied.
"On the ground?"
"That’s right, on the ground. Just a stroke of good luck. I happened to stumble upon it."
The Monk was utterly speechless, thinking that Su Tan’s luck simply defied the natural order.
"I also have you to thank!" Su Tan added.
"Thank me?"
"Exactly."
If it hadn’t been for the Monk’s reverse jinx, Su Tan would definitely have been surprised. But now, for some inexplicable reason, finding this token felt both unexpected and entirely predictable.
"This token has been lost for far too long," the Monk lamented. "Ever since it disappeared, the Treasure Burial Realm became a death trap. Countless powerhouses have lost their way inside.
"Originally, there were a vast number of Magical Treasures in the Treasure Burial Realm. Relying on them, one could easily control the Yin Demon Prison. Unfortunately, with the Control Order gone, the Magical Treasures here were hidden in the darkness, making them nearly impossible to find. I never imagined this token would be recovered thanks to you!
"With this token, we can definitely find the Dragon Elephant Sealed Red Banner and help the White Wolf repel those formidable enemies!" the Monk rejoiced.
"The Dragon Elephant Sealing Banner?" Su Tan spoke up again. "Are there twenty-four flags in total? Twelve gold-plated wooden flags embroidered with dragons, and twelve embroidered with elephants?"
"To be exact, there are twelve black flags and twelve white flags," the Monk explained in detail. "The black flags are embroidered with elephants, while the white flags are embroidered with dragons. The dragons come in twelve colors like red, black, and blue, while the elephants range from one-tailed to twelve-tailed."
Perhaps he wanted Su Tan to remember the characteristics of the Dragon Elephant Banner to make searching easier. However, a sudden realization hit him. In the darkness, his expression changed drastically once more.
"Wait... how did you know there were twenty-four flags? How did you know they were embroidered with dragons and elephants?"
"I couldn’t see the colors," Su Tan pointed out.
"You... you... you..." The Monk pointed toward the sound of Su Tan’s voice. "Did you... did you find the Dragon Elephant Banner?"
He felt as though he could vomit blood. What kind of absurd luck was this? Good heavens, it was completely unbelievable. Both the Dragon Elephant Sealing Banner and the Burial Treasure Realm Control Order were supreme treasures. This was especially true for the Control Order, which the Void God Realm had searched for over countless millennia to no avail. Yet, Su Tan had just casually picked it up off the ground.
It was infuriatingly unfair!
"When we passed by earlier, I noticed some things in the darkness," Su Tan explained. "I didn’t pay much attention to them at the time, but if we go back now, we should be able to find them. Besides, you didn’t tell me about them beforehand."
"Are you serious?"
"If I remember correctly, they should be seventeen paces diagonally behind you to your left," Su Tan said.
SWISH.
The Monk whipped his head around, wanting to see if Su Tan was telling the truth. But an impenetrable veil of darkness blocked him. He had absolutely no visibility.
"Oh, right!" The Monk smacked his forehead.
CLENCH.
He gripped the Control Order tightly in his hand. "Illuminate!" he barked softly.
By mastering the Control Order, he could light up the entire Treasure Burial Realm.
WOOSH.
Sure enough, the token began to glow. It lit up the surroundings like a bright light bulb.
"Huh? Why isn’t the Treasure Burial Realm completely lit?" the Monk wondered aloud. As far as he knew, as long as one possessed the token, they could dispel all the darkness in the realm. Yet, the token in his hand could currently only illuminate a radius of less than five meters.
"Never mind that, let’s find the Dragon Elephant Banner first!"
Even if it only lit up a five-meter radius, it was already a vast improvement for the Monk. At the very least, he no longer had to tiptoe around. He strode confidently in the direction Su Tan had indicated and, as expected, spotted the Dragon Elephant Banner. Su Tan hadn’t been lying.
The Fat Monk instantly felt a wave of dizzying exasperation wash over him. He wondered just how much dog shit this guy had to step in to get this kind of dumb luck.
"Your luck is just... way too heaven-defying!" the Monk couldn’t help but marvel.
"Just a fluke," Su Tan said, spreading his hands.
Whether there was light or not made no difference to him. In the darkness, he held a greater advantage than anyone else, effortlessly keeping pace with the Monk’s strides.
"Now that we’ve found the Dragon Elephant Banner, let’s hurry out and lend the Little White Wolf a hand!" Su Tan said. He wanted to add that it was all thanks to the Monk’s reverse jinx that things went so smoothly, but he didn’t want to waste any more time here.
In truth, neither did the Monk. He pulled out all twenty-four flags and walked out of the Treasure Burial Realm alongside Su Tan.
"This Treasure Burial Realm still holds many secrets," the Monk noted. "But it’s obvious we can’t investigate them one by one right now. It won’t be too late to explore after we’ve dealt with this Yin Demon crisis!"
Without a moment to lose, they returned to the Divine Mansion and immediately contacted the Little White Wolf.
"Can you still hold on?" Su Tan asked.
Meanwhile, in the Marching Battlefield!
The Little White Wolf had transformed into a towering, mountain-sized three-headed hellhound. The rolling hills at its feet looked like mere mounds of dirt. Directly opposite it was a massive black hole, swarming with an army of invading Yin Demon experts.
These Yin Demons were terrifyingly powerful, to the point of actually wounding the Little White Wolf. Deep, bone-chilling claw marks marred its left arm and back. Blood gushed from the wounds, dyeing its pristine white fur a stark crimson. Its demeanor had grown noticeably sluggish, and every sign pointed to the fact that the recent battle had been anything but easy.
"To be honest, I feel like I’m about to collapse!" the Little White Wolf replied. "But I’m pretty strong, too! Even though I suffered some minor injuries, I single-handedly blocked countless Yin Demon experts and even managed to draw their blood!
"Mr. Wolf here feels like I possess the majestic aura of an unparalleled legend."
Su Tan was speechless. He had never seen someone praise themselves so shamelessly. The sheer absurdity of it was overwhelming. This guy was truly unreliable. Didn’t it realize what was at stake right now?
"Thanks for your hard work!" Su Tan said. "Don’t worry, we’re coming to help you right away!"
It was a good thing the White Wolf had so many trump cards. Weakness Tokens, Magic Immunity, Physical Immunity... it threw everything it had into the black hole without hesitation. Had it been any other cultivator of a similar cultivation level, their corpse would have long gone cold. After all, the Yin Demons on the other side were entities no weaker than the White Wolf itself.
It was only because the opening of the black hole was narrow that the White Wolf merely had to block the entrance, preventing the Yin Demons from fully unleashing their strength. If this battle had taken place anywhere else, even with its myriad of trump cards, the White Wolf would have been doomed.
"You guys better hurry, I really can’t hold out much longer," the White Wolf admitted bluntly.
Hot-blooded passion? Showing off? Forging ahead fearlessly and undaunted? That was all bullshit right now! If it couldn’t hold on, it couldn’t hold on. People could actually die here! This was no time to act tough. It could show off some other time, but definitely not now. At this very moment, it desperately wished Su Tan and the Fat Monk could suppress the Yin Demons in an instant.
"Are you ready?" Su Tan asked the Fat Monk.
He was also worried that something might happen to the Little White Wolf. Su Tan understood the Little White Wolf well—that guy was a complete battle maniac who thrived on combat. For it to actually say it wanted to leave the battlefield as quickly as possible meant it was truly at its limit, even if it still sounded as flippant as ever.
