I Can Equip Infinitely
Chapter 90 - 86: Reaching an Agreement
Chapter 90: Chapter 86: Reaching an Agreement
"That’s right, the growth speed of these things is truly astonishing. They evolve and grow by devouring. It’s barbaric, but effective!"
"With so many living beings and so much Spiritual Qi in the real world, it would be a perfect giant food reserve for the Yin Demons. As long as there is a supply, they can grow rapidly. If these beasts were allowed into the real world... it would be destroyed in an instant!" the Monk chimed in.
"Then, wouldn’t these beasts be invincible?" Su Tan asked. "Ignoring realms and comprehensions, directly devouring to evolve, with their strength growing limitlessly?"
"How could that be? Everything has its pros and cons," the Monk said. "Their method of gaining strength is too barbaric and crude. Internal issues will gradually accumulate within them. In the later stages of their cultivation, they will either be unable to advance a single inch, or they will simply die!"
"Even if they encounter various problems in the later stages, you can’t deny their rapid early development," the Little White Wolf said. "Humans and Demon Beasts have better evolution methods than them, but we simply can’t outpace their early growth. If there is no early stage because everyone is dead, how can we even talk about the later stages?" It was extremely wary of the Yin Demons.
BANG BANG BANG!
"These beasts really won’t give up. They organize attacks against the barrier every single moment. They haven’t stopped since ancient times. They are quite persistent," the Monk remarked.
The management room of the Void God Realm was located on this half-sheared mountain, and this mountain was right at the center of the location where the Yin Demons were imprisoned. The mountain was protected by a barrier, isolating the management room from the Yin Demon World. It was said that this setup allowed for constant monitoring of the Yin Demons’ situation.
Teams of Yin Demons madly charged at the light barrier. Some died directly upon impact, yet the rest continued to surge forward, wave after wave. If they weren’t mindless, they had to be driven by a powerful force behind them.
"Ignore them. Hmph, they are just a bunch of ants," the Monk said dismissively. "To think they can break through the protective barrier laid down by numerous Great Powers is simply wishful thinking! Although this place is closest to the Yin Demon World, it is actually... the safest place. Even if those beasts break into the Void God Realm from elsewhere, or even into the real world, it would still be safe here. Without a special token, no one can reach this point."
The Monk was very confident in the management room’s defenses.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
Su Tan reached out and knocked on the defensive barrier in front of him. It was very hard. The texture and feel were similar to glass—smooth and polished.
"The visual recording is complete. I’ll transmit it to you now, and then you’ll be able to see!" the Monk said.
Su Tan smiled. He didn’t hold out much hope for this. Even if the images were transmitted directly into his mind, he wouldn’t be able to see them. The Little White Wolf had once tried using this method to let Su Tan see the brilliance of the world. The result was, without a doubt, a failure! He couldn’t receive the images; they were automatically blocked.
Unaware of Su Tan’s thoughts, the Monk reached out and transmitted the images to him.
WHOOSH!
"It’s been transmitted. Can you see it?"
As expected, he still couldn’t see anything. However... something interesting happened.
"DING! A high-level Spiritual Artifact has been discovered. Inspecting... Detected that the host cannot equip it!" the system prompted.
???
A Spiritual Artifact that couldn’t be equipped? He wondered if this was what the Monk used to transmit the images to him.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Outside, the sound of the Yin Demons’ impact echoed. They were densely packed and boundless, just like hell itself. It felt as if Su Tan, the Monk, and the Little White Wolf had fallen into the Asura Hell. Even without being able to see it, the sheer magnitude of it was terrifying.
"Actually, the Void God Realm consists of more than just the nine well-known regions," the Monk explained. "There are many unknown territories that are incredibly vast. Some places span wider than a galaxy. Among these territories, some are no-man’s lands devoid of life, some are entirely covered in plants, and others are filled with uncivilized creatures. And some... are like this region, vast expanses used to imprison countless demons! Come with me. I’ll take you into the management room. Once we open the door and make a few adjustments, we just need to strengthen the defenses as required."
"Why are you telling us all this?" Su Tan asked. "And... why did you bring us here personally?"
"If I didn’t tell you, would you cooperate with me? Would you feel my sincerity in wanting to work with you? If I didn’t bring you here, would you believe me?" the Monk replied.
Su Tan didn’t answer. However... the Monk had guessed correctly. If the Monk couldn’t earn his trust, Su Tan would never have cooperated with him. He might not have even bothered paying attention to the Monk. He would have just ignored the doomsday talk entirely.
"I can’t leave the Void God Realm, and you two don’t log in every day. Trying to find you is like looking for a needle in a haystack," the Monk continued. "Even if I did find you... I can’t beat you in a fight. Stealing the keys back was obviously out of the question. Taking a long-term approach wouldn’t work either because there isn’t enough time. The longer this drags on, the more dangerous it becomes. Since I couldn’t afford to delay, I had to gain your trust immediately. And the only way to do that was to tell you everything."
Su Tan thought about it. He had to admit that the Monk was quite smart.
The Yin Demons had been developing in this prison region for tens of millions of years. Their population had reached a staggering number. If they were allowed to escape, what would happen to the real world? It probably wouldn’t survive! Right now, the real world was at a low point. Without top-tier experts standing guard, there was simply no way to fend off so many Yin Demons.
When a nest is overturned, no egg remains intact. If the real world suffered a catastrophe, Chen Family Village definitely wouldn’t be spared, and Su Tan wouldn’t be able to live comfortably in his courtyard anymore. Helping the Monk was also helping himself. Su Tan had no reason to refuse, and he wasn’t that short-sighted.
Why didn’t Su Tan suspect that the Monk was a spy for the Yin Demons? If the Monk were truly a spy, he could have just opened the door and let the Yin Demons out back when he had all the keys. Why wait until his keys were stolen to ask for them back? Wouldn’t that be entirely redundant? Therefore, the Monk couldn’t be a spy.
"I see that the energy in this management room flows endlessly and ceaselessly. This must also be the work of the ancient Great Powers," the Little White Wolf remarked.
"You don’t understand," the Monk said. "Energy has its limits. Even the mighty ancient Great Powers didn’t survive, so what could truly be immortal? The reason this place has an endless supply of energy is due to two factors. First, it’s thanks to everyone’s contributions. The Spirit Stones you consume every time you log in support the operation of the Void God Realm. The second factor... is the Yin Demons. For every Yin Demon that dies, the Void God Realm gradually absorbs their energy, converting it to supply the operational needs of the realm and the management room."
The Monk walked up to the management room’s entrance.
"Now, you can take out the keys you snatched, right?" the Monk said. "I haven’t lied to you at all."
What he had seen and heard about the Void God Realm’s management room had been a real eye-opener for Su Tan. "Before that, can I make a request?" Su Tan asked, without immediately bringing out the keys.
"You still want to exploit the situation?" The Monk’s face darkened. "This concerns the lives of all living beings in the world! If the Yin Demons escape, it won’t do you any good either."
"You can’t just let me make a wasted trip, can you?" Su Tan chuckled.
He had no interest in actually taking advantage of the crisis. Knowing this was connected to the peace of the real world, he would have done it even if the Monk hadn’t asked. Su Tan wasn’t that petty. But... it seemed like the Monk had a lot of good stuff on him. Especially the Magical Treasure he had just used to record the images. The system itself had stated it was a high-level item. If he could get his hands on it, this trip would be well worth it. Of course, if the Monk refused, Su Tan would let it go and still hand over the keys. It was a classic case of trying his luck—if he got it, great; if not, oh well.
"I’m not blackmailing you. I genuinely think that Magical Treasure you used just now is pretty good, so I’m asking for it," Su Tan teased. "Besides, you’re the creator of the Void God Realm. You wouldn’t mind parting with a single Magical Treasure, would you?"
As he spoke, he handed back the keys he had previously snatched from the Monk. Strictly the keys, though. He definitely wasn’t going to return things like the Weakness Tokens.
Seeing Su Tan finally bring out the keys, the Monk heaved a heavy sigh of relief. Apart from the keys Su Tan handed over, the Monk had the rest on him. He carefully inspected them and found no issues. There were twelve keys in total. Only then did he cast a spell, inserting all the keys into the giant door one by one.
"What Magical Treasure?" the Monk asked Su Tan casually.
"The Magical Treasure you used to record those images for me just now," Su Tan replied.
"You must be mistaken. I don’t have any Magical Treasure. I transmitted those images to you using my own abilities, okay?" The Monk rolled his eyes at Su Tan.
"Don’t lie to me. I know everything."
"I’m really not lying to you! Why would I lie? I don’t have it. I just recorded the visuals myself and transmitted them directly into your mind."
CLACK CLACK CLACK!
As the keys were inserted, the patterns on the door seemed to come alive, flowing and radiating light. Finally... the intricately interlocked carvings separated, and the giant door slowly opened.
"Your own abilities?" Su Tan knew the Monk was still hiding something.
"We can talk about this later. Let’s go in and get things done first. Don’t cause a global disaster because you’re distracted."
CLACK CLACK CLACK!
The door finally opened. It was as if the gates to another world had been unsealed. An ancient, weather-beaten aura rushed out at them. The three of them entered the management room. This place couldn’t simply be called a "room." It was an entirely different world within, incredibly expansive.
"Once we wrap this up, hurry up and send us back to the Void God Realm. We still have a lot of things to do," Su Tan urged.
However, the Monk was in no mood to argue with Su Tan at this moment. Upon seeing everything inside the management room, the Monk—who had just finally relaxed—suffered a drastic change in expression! His entire aura fell into chaos.
