I Carry a Game World With Me

Chapter 126 - 125: Following the Designed Plot

Chapter 126: Chapter 125: Following the Designed Plot

With that, Guo Qi lowered his binoculars and went straight downstairs, leading his men toward Lu Feng’s position.

Along the way, Guo Qi clearly heard the gunfire dwindling.

By the time they drew near, only sporadic gunshots could be heard.

When he and his men arrived in front of the buildings, the gunfire had all but ceased.

"Charge in! Search for survivors!" Guo Qi ordered with a smirk.

’These fools actually thought they could go support Lin Nan. They truly have no idea who they’re up against.’

He led his men into the building, but the moment they stepped inside, Guo Qi was stunned.

In the building’s lobby, dozens of guns were aimed directly at them, held by the people of Qingfeng Base.

In that instant, Guo Qi and the men he’d brought with him felt a chill run down their spines.

"How is this possible?" A look of disbelief spread across Guo Qi’s face.

’So many zombies had swarmed in to attack. How could these people be completely unscathed?’

’He realized he’d been tricked. They must have fired those shots deliberately to lure him here.’

’But how could they have dealt with all those zombies so easily?’

’There were even mutated ones among them!’

Moreover, the mutated zombies’ heads had been cracked open. Clearly, their opponents had calmly harvested the crystal cores.

Then, Guo Qi’s eyes widened in horror as he saw two figures completely encased in Mecha.

Mecha?

Guo Qi was terrified; he’d heard of such things.

"Heh, you seem to think you’re the only clever one, trailing us for an attack? Lin Nan anticipated this long ago. And did you really think Lin Nan doesn’t know what you’ve been up to?" Lu Feng said, stepping forward slowly in his Mecha.

Of course, he was saying this specifically for Guo Qi’s benefit. He wanted to make him mistakenly believe that Lin Nan was aware of the situation, escalating the conflict.

That way, Lu Feng could resolve the crisis sooner, and maybe even absorb their faction.

’It also seemed that this time, Guo Qi might have brought the Hexagonal Beast with him.’

Guo Qi’s expression soured further upon hearing Lu Feng’s words.

’He clearly hadn’t expected Lin Nan to already know, much less that he’d be coordinating with these outsiders to set a trap for him.’

Alarmed, Guo Qi was about to shout for his men to attack when Lu Feng’s figure blurred. His speed was like a gale; even encumbered by the Mecha, he closed the distance to Guo Qi in an instant.

He had activated his special speed ability. It was still effective even while wearing the Mecha, though it consumed energy at a rapid rate.

Lu Feng threw a punch straight into Guo Qi’s chest. Even though he was holding back considerably, the Mecha’s power sent Guo Qi flying, tumbling violently across the floor.

The men around them were stunned.

At that moment, a dense array of laser emitters extended from Lu Feng’s Mecha, unleashing a chaotic volley of beams.

In an instant, the survivors before him were riddled with holes. Blood sprayed as they collapsed in droves.

Not one of the survivors who had rushed in was spared.

The rest of the men were terrified and began to back away.

The Mecha on Lu Feng’s body fired another dense volley of lasers. In a flash, another wave of men fell.

At this, the men Guo Qi had brought completely lost their nerve and began to flee in a panic.

Seeing this, Lin Jiao led her people out, shouting, "Finish them!"

The people from Qingfeng Base also opened fire.

However, they didn’t give chase, instead watching the men escape.

Lu Feng even watched as Guo Qi scrambled into the opposite building and used it as cover to escape. He didn’t pursue him. ’After all, the plan was always to let him get away.’

’Otherwise, how could he go back to Red Leaf Base and deal with Lin Nan?’

’Everything was going according to his script.’

However, Lu Feng hadn’t forgotten one thing: Guo Qi had likely brought a Hexagonal Beast with him.

He immediately hurried over to the hover trucks Guo Qi had left behind. One of them was covered by a tarp; there was definitely something underneath.

Lu Feng strode forward and yanked off the tarp. Beneath it was a monster with six tentacles. A special device was attached to its head, apparently to control it.

One of the creature’s tentacles was currently piercing straight through a zombie’s head.

"Boss, is this the Hexagonal Beast you were talking about?" Lin Jiao asked in surprise.

Chen Tao, Chen Hao, and the others also came forward to look on with curiosity.

Lu Feng nodded. "Yes, this is a Hexagonal Beast. It’s controlling this zombie."

’And he was certain this wasn’t just any mutated zombie. After all, there had been plenty of mutated zombies in the horde that attacked earlier.’

’If it were just an ordinary one, it wouldn’t have been able to control the others.’

Lin Jiao asked again, "Boss, so they’re the ones who created this Hexagonal Beast? Does that mean if we destroy it, the crisis is over?"

"It might not be that simple." Lu Feng frowned, looking at the Hexagonal Beast with a sense that something was off.

He recalled that in the *Berserk Zombie Arc* origin story, the Hexagonal Beast that controlled the zombies and opened the gates of Red Leaf Base was much larger than this one. Moreover, that one didn’t have a control device on its head.

With this thought, Lu Feng raised his gun and shot the Hexagonal Beast dead, dispatching it.

[Congratulations! You have killed a Hexagonal Beast and gained 3000 EXP!]

’3000 EXP for one Hexagonal Beast. That’s a lot.’

He checked his character stats: LVL 9: 12,382 / 25,600.

’If there were a few more of these, he could level up just by killing a couple of them.’

’But this Hexagonal Beast didn’t drop any loot after being killed.’

Lu Feng holstered his gun and immediately gave an order to Lin Jiao. "Gather our people. We’re heading back toward Red Leaf Base. Guo Qi should have made it back by now. I deliberately fed him those lines so he’d go back and fight Lin Nan. We can reap the rewards of their conflict, and use the opportunity to eliminate the remaining Hexagonal Beasts at their base, completely removing the threat to our own."

Lin Jiao nodded and immediately shouted to the people from Qingfeng Base, "Everyone assemble! Prepare to move out!"

Meanwhile, Guo Qi had already fled the area in a panic.

He returned to Red Leaf Base as fast as he could. The moment he arrived, he ran into Teacher Hu.

"Why do you look so pathetic?" Teacher Hu demanded. "And why is the Hexagonal Beast dead? What the hell were you doing?"

Hearing this, Guo Qi gritted his teeth. "Teacher Hu, we have to deal with Lin Nan. He’s teamed up with those outsiders, coordinating from the inside! He knew what we were up to and deliberately set a trap for me and my men."

"They must have killed the Hexagonal Beast, which means Lin Nan is even more certain of our plans. He’s definitely going to move against us. We have to strike first!"

"Damn it," Teacher Hu said, his face dark. "Then let’s finish him. He doesn’t know you’re back yet. Go and get ready. Now."
