I Have a Dice Left by a God
Chapter 861 - 78: Eat Me First
Chapter 861: Chapter 78: Eat Me First
Unlike Cantona’s life in hell, Simmons was enjoying himself a lot more; after all, he’d always been the type to go with the flow.
The soft, comfortable mattress had him firmly sealed in place. He stretched hard, bones tingling with a numb, pleasant ache. This was already his third attempt to resist the siren call of this mattress. If he’d known, he wouldn’t have let Dragon Mother specially ship it back from outside. More than half of his Knightly discipline had been worn away by this mattress—he no longer got up early to train on his own, instead sleeping until he woke naturally and then lazing until he naturally got out of bed.
That said, to be fair, this mattress really was unbeatable at dissolving fatigue, especially kind to his waist—so kind that he didn’t even want to get out of bed.
Life on Shalu Island was way too comfortable. Dragon Mother knew exactly how to handle him; every time he had other thoughts, she would wring him dry. Especially lately, Dragon Mother had found him a group of servants to wait on him, and had ordered special beef, fruit, and other foods rarely seen on the island from outside, calling it the standard package for a young master.
Last week the two of them got too intense and broke the bed. Simmons had complained that the mattress here was bad quality and too hard. Just a few days later, Dragon Mother had this current mattress shipped in from outside—a Mosel Kingdom product, a custom piece in full Moncalleta great-noble style.
Song of Hell must have some serious pull around here.
When it came to enjoyment, Simmons had never turned anything away. Since he couldn’t resist, he just accepted it.
Under Dragon Mother’s forceful arrangements, he simply adapted. If not for worrying about the brothers who had come with him to the Netherworld Sea, his days would have been even more carefree.
It was just that, for now, he had no way to find them, and Dragon Mother wouldn’t let him leave Shalu Island. She hadn’t stated the reason, but Simmons had more or less guessed a few things. Dragon Mother was also using Song of Hell’s intelligence network to look into it, but with the Netherworld Sea in such a treacherous, shifting state right now, finding a few people wasn’t easy.
After lazing a while longer, Simmons finally woke up completely. He sat up and tugged the bell rope at the head of the bed. A moment later, the door was gently pushed open as two boys of twelve or thirteen walked in, hands holding folded clothes.
These were the personal servants he had only agreed to accept a few days ago. Dragon Mother enjoyed watching that side of him—the high-and-mighty young lord giving orders. He was just indulging her tastes... At the same time, he did in fact need such attendants to look after his quarters; he really was a young master, after all.
When Simmons trained, he would casually teach them some Knight’s Attendant basics, from etiquette to basic swordsmanship. Without a Divine Relic, their lifetime ceiling wouldn’t be very high, but compared to ordinary Warriors, this path was still a broad road to changing their fate.
Once he was properly dressed, Simmons went to the dining room. The table was already covered with food: fried eggs, ham sliced into half-transparent thin sheets, thick pumpkin soup, pan-fried steak. The fruit plate beside them held grapes and mangoes. Apart from the eggs and pumpkin, all the other ingredients and fruits had been specially shipped in by fast boat from outside the island. The cost of this single meal alone would be enough for an ordinary island family to eat and drink well for a month.
Dragon Mother sat at the table, a bird-paper in her hand. Several other bird-papers were stacked on the table as well—issues from Moncalleta, Li Long, and Mosel. The newest one was from a week ago. If they were on Five Claw Island, they could at the earliest see Li Long or Moncalleta news from three days ago, but on Shalu Island, a week was already the fastest. Five Claw Island also had bird-papers, but only a weekly; their contents were basically excerpts from Li Long and Moncalleta bird-papers.
As Simmons dug into his lavish breakfast, he glanced at the bird-paper in Dragon Mother’s hand. It was Freedom Daily’s special Utopia Mountain’s Enmity and Gratitude issue...
The promised grand finale hadn’t come as scheduled; instead, the series had been interrupted again. The current special issue was a curated re-serialization of the earlier Chapters. Beyond the novel itself, it had added a large number of exquisite illustrations for readers to enjoy.
With Simmons’s arrival, Dragon Mother’s interest clearly shifted from the bird-paper to him. Her eyes, without any attempt to hide it, shone with her unique possessiveness, her charming gaze anything but innocent.
Simmons felt a little creeped out. Even though the two of them were already utterly familiar, everything that could be done and explored had been done, and they had more than enough experience with each other, every time Dragon Mother stared at him like that, he still felt a heart-clenching sense that she might completely devour him. He pressed down his heartbeat, calmly drawing on his great-noble upbringing—chewing and swallowing at an even pace, his etiquette flawless. That only made Dragon Mother’s eyes turn even pinker; she adored this refined, aristocratic-young-lord air of his.
"You can all go now, there’s no need to attend us here." Simmons swallowed a bite of beef and waved casually, as if offhand. He was a bit afraid Dragon Mother would do something in front of the servants.
The two servants and the two cooks waiting in the kitchen immediately bowed and left the main building, thoughtfully closing the front door behind them.
Simmons set down his knife and fork and cleared his throat lightly. "Don’t stare at me like that all the time, I’ll get indigestion."
Dragon Mother smiled slightly, put down the special Utopia Mountain’s Enmity and Gratitude issue in her hand, and sat down on Simmons’s lap, her full hips pressing in. One hand hooked up Simmons’s chin. "But what if I can’t get enough of looking?"
Simmons was speechless and could only channel all his energy into the food in front of him.
Dragon Mother lowered her head, half leaning against his ear, her breath fragrant as orchids. As she drew closer and closer to her Mythical Form, she’d recently been slipping into short heat cycles now and then. A mother dragon’s desire was very strong.
She couldn’t resist sticking out her tongue to taste his ear, and only when she saw his ear turn as red as a flaming cloud did she let him go, shifting instead to say, "There’s some news about those brothers of yours. They’re all still alive, but they’ve run into some trouble—someone’s chasing them. Song of Hell hasn’t yet tracked down where they are now, but for the moment they shouldn’t be in mortal danger."
"Mm... thanks for the trouble..." Simmons felt his ears burning hot. The damp touch Dragon Mother left on his ear was like a cat’s paw scratching at his heart, sending his mind swaying.
Dragon Mother stroked his ear, wiping away the dampness she’d left there, and said, "It’s not that I won’t let you go find them; it’s that I need you right now."
She said it with blunt, domineering directness.
"Will you be in danger? You’re using Song of Hell’s intelligence—won’t they suspect you?"
Dragon Mother basked in Simmons’s concern, her eyes curving with her smile. "Relax. Song of Hell is more reasonable than you think. We’re partners, and the Commander is actually a very special person. Honestly, in many things everyone just uses different methods, but the goals are the same."
Simmons didn’t argue. The key for Dragon Mother right now was evolving her Mythical Form, and only Song of Hell had the ability to help with that. Her continuing to work with them was unavoidable. "Song of Hell only cares about results. Hedan, and Dragon Capital as well, have absolutely no bottom line in achieving their goals. Don’t get too deep into it; I’m afraid... you’ll end up as their Sacrifice too."
Song of Hell’s arrival in the Nether Sea was most likely for the Wish Book. Simmons couldn’t help thinking of Celestial Principle Demi-God Vladimir, who’d become a Sacrifice for the Golden Tree, and of Celestial Principle Archangel Mordo, who’d reversed Sacrifice himself for Dragon Capital. His heart was filled with thick worry for Dragon Mother.
"Did you see something?" Dragon Mother asked with a smile.
Simmons paused, then nodded. "The night before last... that Headless Knight who spoke with you—he’s a Singer too, isn’t he?"
Dragon Mother smiled. She lifted his chin, her fingertips pressing just enough to tilt his head back and reveal the clear line of his throat. Leaning down, she kissed the corner of his mouth. "If you saw it, why didn’t you ask me right away?"
"I figured... when you thought it was time to tell me, you’d naturally tell me. It’s not like you’d ever hurt me."
Dragon Mother had her plans. Without her rescue he would’ve died at sea. He didn’t want to worry her, and even less to disrupt her operations. He was asking now because he was afraid Song of Hell would use her, turning her into some unspeakable consumable resource—especially after the news from Dragon Capital this time, which had sent a chill down his spine.
Dragon Mother’s gaze grew even softer as she said, "I can’t tell you the specifics, but as for the Wish Book, with your strength you lot should stay out of it. Even if an Angel came, they’d have to tuck their tail between their legs. This game is enormous."
Simmons nodded obediently. He trusted Dragon Mother’s arrangements, not just because of their intimate relationship, but because of the Dragon Power in his body. Under Dragon Mother’s demands on his body, it had been accumulating deeper and deeper. He could very clearly feel that Dragon Mother’s completion of her Mythical Form would also be a leap for him. He just didn’t know whether it would be a direct rank promotion, or an upgrade in his Spiritual Power and Superpower.
Looking at his still-flushed face, Dragon Mother stopped restraining herself. She rose, pressed a hand to Simmons’s chest, feeling his solid strength, and pushed him down onto the dining table with a refusal-brooking force. "When the time isn’t right, anything you do is wrong. First sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight, raise your strength, and only then will you have a chance to step onto the field."
Simmons couldn’t fend her off and finally realized what was about to happen. Dragon Mother was going into one of her day-and-night-blurring moods again today... He hurriedly said, "Wait, I just got up... hold on a bit, I haven’t finished my breakfast..."
Dragon Mother smiled faintly, the affection in her eyes fully blooming, seduction flowing from her. Her full, soft curves wrapped around Simmons’s head. "Eat me first, then eat breakfast..."
