I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!
Chapter 232 Uncle, Can You Be My Daddy?
Chapter 232: Chapter 125: Uncle, Can You Be My Daddy?
When it came to makeup and styling, Fang Youqing had her own unique perspective and aesthetic.
Beautiful without being flashy, creating a look that was very pleasing to the eye.
At the door, she took a pair of flat shoes with double buckles from the shoe cabinet. The moment she put them on, it was like the finishing touch on a masterpiece, bringing the whole look together with a certain charm.
"Uncle, when can you come play with me again?"
"Didn’t we talk about this yesterday? Uncle has to go to school, so he can’t come over and play with you every day," Fang Youqing said sternly.
"Okay," Zhao Wen Cheng said listlessly.
Chen Yuan patted his head and said with a smile,
"If you miss me, just ask your mom to send me a message, and I’ll come over to play."
"Okay, when I miss you, I’ll have Mommy call you."
"Okay."
After comforting Zhao Wen Cheng, the three of them left.
Fang Youqing drove the two of them to the university.
"We’re off now."
"Okay, go on."
After a few brief reminders, Fang Youqing drove away.
As for when to invite Chen Yuan over for dinner again, Fang Youqing hadn’t decided.
She wasn’t busy right now and had plenty of free time. If circumstances allowed, she wouldn’t mind him coming over every day.
But Chen Yuan had his own life, and she couldn’t let him waste all his time on her child. She couldn’t keep bothering him.
She let out a helpless sigh. ’I should probably sign him up for a class to help him build some masculine spirit.’
...
For the next month or so, Chen Yuan’s life continued as usual.
Zhonghai had grown cold in January. The damp, chilly air was already making Chen Yuan miss the Siberian cold fronts from back home.
But it was precisely this kind of weather that gave the city a new look.
Frost condensed in the crevices of the hundred-year-old buildings like silver tear tracks left by time. The bare branches of the parasol trees etched lines against the clear sky, each twig like an unfinished musical staff waiting for the notes of the spring breeze to fill it in.
This was Chen Yuan’s first winter in the south.
He was freezing his ass off.
During this period, besides spending time with Jiang Wanyi and Mili, he also went to play with Zhao Wen Cheng a few times. One of those visits triggered a passive mission, but instead of a skill, it only rewarded him with money.
Chen Yuan wasn’t picky. As long as it was money, he was happy.
The Respiration Card he’d received earlier had given him a reward of 26,000 yuan when he used it. Adding that to his new rewards, his total assets were already approaching 90,000 yuan.
In other news, he and Song Jianye both successfully got their driver’s licenses. Afterward, they brazenly took her family’s Maybach S680 out on the road to practice driving for a day.
Don’t ask why they only practiced for one day. It was because Song Jianye crashed the car almost immediately.
This Maybach, worth over three million yuan, had been purchased six years ago. In all that time with Uncle Zhang driving, not even a windshield wiper had been replaced. But in Song Jianye’s hands, it took less than ten minutes to completely destroy a factory headlight.
’When wealth exceeds one’s ability, disaster is sure to follow.’ This old saying, passed down from the ancestors, was particularly fitting for Song Jianye.
With exams over, it was time for winter break.
Chen Yuan predicted he might fail Advanced Physics. But where one thing failed, another succeeded—his English exam had gone quite well. He was sure he’d scored above 80, which should qualify him to take the Level 4 English exam next semester.
After the last exam, all that was left was to arrange things for the trip home.
"Have you packed everything?"
"Mhm."
In Cafeteria No. 3, Song Jianye rested her cheek in one hand, poking the bottom of her bowl with her chopsticks. She didn’t seem to have much of an appetite.
"When are you leaving?"
"Sometime in the next few days. I’ve pretty much finished packing."
His plans for the next few days were already set.
He didn’t have any obligations at the university or otherwise, but he planned to spend a few more days playing with Mili before he left.
"We won’t be able to see each other this whole break. We can’t hang out anymore," Song Jianye said glumly.
"You could have Uncle Zhang take you on a trip. Winter is a lot of fun where I’m from."
"I’d love to go, but my aunt might not agree. She’ll probably make me intern at the company. It’s so annoying."
"That’s important business. You should listen to your aunt."
"Yeah, I know," Song Jianye said listlessly.
After dinner, Chen Yuan walked Song Jianye back to her dorm.
"Nian Nian, when are you leaving?"
In Song Jianye’s dorm room, everyone except for Meng Tingting was from out of town.
But Meng Tingting and Cao Yumeng had already left, so only she and Wang Chuyue remained.
"I’m leaving right now, so I can’t keep you company. See you next semester!" Song Jianye said.
"Okay. I’ll bring you back some specialties from my hometown when I return," Wang Chuyue replied.
This semester, the three roommates had eaten plenty of Song Jianye’s food—they could even eat fruit to their heart’s content. Their way of thanking her was to bring her back local specialties from their hometowns.
"I’ll bring you some specialties back, too," Song Jianye offered.
"You’re from Hang City, right? What kind of specialties do you have there?"
"Erm..."
The gears in Song Jianye’s head spun rapidly.
"How about instant West Lake Vinegar Fish? It’s the kind where everything is packaged separately—the fish is fish, and the vinegar is vinegar."
"Even when a restaurant makes that stuff, isn’t it still just ’the fish is fish, and the vinegar is vinegar’?"
"I guess you’re right. It is pretty gross. But I can’t really think of anything else special from my area."
"Then don’t bother bringing anything. Just wait for the semester to start and eat what we bring."
"Okay, okay."
"Before you got back, I tried lifting your suitcase. It’s not light. Let me help you carry it downstairs."
"No, no, I can manage it myself."
Wang Chuyue turned, walked to the windowsill, and saw Chen Yuan standing downstairs. A suggestive smile spread across her face.
"I knew it. Chen Yuan was definitely going to come see you off. I won’t be a third wheel."
"Good friends are supposed to help each other out."
"I bet one of these days you two will ’help’ each other all the way into bed."
"Mhm."
"You’re just going to admit it like that? When did you two make it official?"
