Chapter 233: Chapter 125: Uncle, Can You Be My Dad?

"Good friends can sleep in the same bed, you know."

"Emmm... if you say so."

"I’m heading out now. Bye-bye, see you when school starts."

"Go on, go on."

She pushed her suitcase out of the dorm room and to the top of the stairs. Then, she picked it up with one hand, completely without effort.

’How could Yueyue say this is heavy? It’s light as a feather. She must not exercise, so she has no strength. Anyway, it couldn’t possibly be because I’m just that strong.’

She carried it down to the first floor in one go, not even flushed or out of breath. It was easy.

"Chen Yuan!"

When she reached the first floor, Song Jianye called out.

Chen Yuan, sitting on the edge of a planter, saw Song Jianye in the doorway, along with her suitcase.

He found it a bit awkward.

It was an LV.

"What’s wrong?" Chen Yuan asked, walking over.

"I can’t lift it anymore. Quick, come help me."

Chen Yuan glanced at the dorm auntie standing nearby, who was giving him a knowing smile.

"Go on."

"Thanks, Auntie."

Chen Yuan walked into the dormitory building, wheeled the suitcase to the front steps, and lifted it. It was quite heavy.

"I thought most of your stuff was at the hotel? Why is this so heavy?"

"It’s just some stuff I’m not using. Uncle Zhang told me to pack it all up and bring it back," Song Jianye said. "Uncle Zhang wanted to have Sister Jing help me, but I said I didn’t need the help."

"Why?"

"Well, I have a good friend in you, don’t I? This job was reserved specifically for you."

"I can’t thank you enough."

"Hehe, you’re welcome."

Carrying Song Jianye’s suitcase, the two of them arrived at the school gate, where Uncle Zhang was already waiting for them. He already had her other things ready.

"Xiaoyuan, when are you leaving?" Uncle Zhang asked after putting the suitcase in the trunk.

"I might wait a few days. I’m not in a hurry to go back."

"I won’t be in Zhonghai for the next few days. When you’re ready to leave, just tell me the specific time. I’ll have someone book your ticket and take you to the airport."

"No, no, really. I can handle it myself."

"Well, we’ll be going then."

"Yeah."

Song Jianye waved reluctantly. "I’m leaving now."

"Yeah, you’ll be back when school starts."

"Mhm, bye-bye."

Uncle Zhang drove away with Song Jianye, and Chen Yuan turned and headed back to his dorm.

The three "sons" in his dorm room had all packed their things. They would be leaving one after another over the next few days.

"I’m heading out."

Things were simpler in a men’s dorm. After a quick goodbye, Chen Yuan left with his suitcase.

After leaving campus, he didn’t go to Jiang Wanyi’s place right away. Instead, he went to the underground mall in University City for a look around.

He bought a toy car track for Mili, then looked at the food being sold there, but there was nothing special.

He’d already bought all the delicious, unique snacks for Jiang Wanyi in the past. What was left was rather plain, so there was no point in buying anything.

After browsing for a while, Chen Yuan left. On his way, he received messages from the Fang Sisters in succession.

Fang Youning gave him an update. She had already arrived at the high-speed rail station; Fang Youqing had taken her there.

Then she texted that she’d gone through the gate and boarded the train.

After they chatted for a bit, a message from Fang Youqing came in.

Fang Youqing: "When are you leaving."

The line of text was curt, devoid of any pleasantries, like something from a cold, unfeeling chatbot.

Her personality, her texting style—everything about her was coolly detached.

Chen Yuan: "A few more days."

Fang Youqing: "Everyone’s on break now. There’s not much to eat around campus. You can come over to our house to eat."

Chen Yuan: "Does Chengcheng miss me again?"

Fang Youqing: "Couldn’t it be that *I’m* the one inviting you for a meal?"

The addition of a question mark this time seemed to suggest a ripple of emotion.

Chen Yuan: "If Chengcheng doesn’t miss me, then I shouldn’t impose."

Fang Youqing: "Suit yourself."

’This...’

’Why does her tone feel a little... off?’

’Maybe I should find some time to drop by?’
