Shadows flared around Lucy.

Tendrils rose from the shadows and simply grabbed the nearby Goblins.

?"Aaahhhhh!"

"Raahhhh!"

"Aaahhhh!"

?As the Goblins struggled, the tendrils pulled them inside the shadow, which opened up like a wolf’s maw and clamped down.

?Crunch, crunch, crunch.

?The sounds of chewing echoed loudly, and the Goblins’ momentum died with it.

?Lucy wiped her mouth with her paw and said, "Not bad."

?Night had a peculiar expression as he watched them, but then his eyes widened as he realized his [Sin of Hunger] had reacted when Lucy ate the monsters.

?His hunger had actually reduced.

?Night whispered, "No way..."

?Lucy turned to him. "What?"

?"My hunger was reduced after you ate..." Night said.

?"This works too?" Lucy asked.

?"I guess so, yes...." Night nodded.

?Then, blackish-purple portals appeared around him. From them stepped Sage, Zero, Death, Sara, and Vivianne.

?Except for Eve and Lilith, everyone was here.

Eve and Lilith were currently in the Dream City, managing the Earth Spirit Clan members, Rango’s pack, and Vance who were staying in the Nightmare Castle.

They were much busier than Night at the moment.

?Then, the totem at the pit of his throat flashed, and Nuwa emerged. Simultaneously, the totem on the back of his right hand flashed as well, and out came Dolly.

?Night looked at all of them and said, "So..."

?Sara interrupted, "Night, for now, instead of fighting with us, just stay back and guide us. I am not used to fighting like this, and I think the others are in the same situation."

?She eyed Vivianne, Nuwa, and Dolly.

?"Fair enough," Night agreed. The throne appeared behind him, and he sat down. The throne then floated into the air as if it were completely weightless.

?It wasn’t called The Throne of the Flying Immortal for nothing.

?This time, he didn’t sit in a meditative posture, but rather sat like a mafia boss: one leg crossed over the other, his chin resting on the palm of one hand, and his other arm casually draped over the armrest.

?He looked down at them with a relaxed yet alert gaze, as if what he was watching was not a life-or-death fight, but a movie.

?The others smiled at this and prepared themselves.

?Night’s mind went into overdrive as he commanded and used his Nightmare Domain to enhance his friends.

?When he did this, he realized that maybe being a City Ruler wasn’t so bad after all. Inside the city, he would have double stats, and since his friends were a part of his overall strength, they would have double stats too.

?If he defended against a horde like this within the city limits, he could easily see himself leveling up twice as fast. And he was sure he wouldn’t lack monsters to kill this way, as more dungeon breaks were bound to happen near his city.

?He would definitely have to look into how to expand a city.

?Night pulled away from these thoughts as he began commanding his friends. As he did so, he carefully analyzed how they fought. For now, he moved them according to his initial assumptions.

?Zero, Sage, and Lucy rushed ahead of the group acting as tanks, while Vivianne, Sara, and Death stayed behind them to act as ranged support and damage dealers.

?Nuwa hid herself. She would be doing sneak attacks like an assassin and protecting them in case anyone found themselves in trouble.

?Meanwhile, Dolly sat calmly on his lap; she would be using her puppeteering skills to manage the battlefield.

?By now, the Goblins had gathered the courage to fight as more of them joined the fray.

?Then, like an army, they started attacking but their attacks were chaotic and without any real pattern.

?Some of them used spells like fireballs and water bullets, while others threw things that looked like poison bombs.

?Huge Goblins that looked like tanks were at the very front, and they crashed directly into Lucy, Zero, and Sage.

?Lucy enlarged herself and covered her body in blackish-purple shadows like armor. She fought a huge Goblin wielding a spiked club, using only her massive paws. The fight had barely even begun, and Lucy had already bitten off its hand.

?But the Goblin didn’t look like a pushover. In mere seconds, it quickly regenerated its missing hand.

?Immediately, Night received a message from Lucy: ’Feed this one to the Nightmare Origin Tree. It can self-regenerate.’

?Night agreed. He had already missed the Werewolves who could do healing before; he was not going to miss out again. He quickly commanded Death to send her Undead Knight to assist Lucy.

?Zero covered herself in purplish-white ice like armor and clashed with a Goblin wielding a broadsword covered in flames.

?Every time Zero clashed against the sword with her mandibles, the sword would freeze a little, proving that Zero was winning in terms of aspect.

?Zero looked behind the Goblin and saw hundreds more coming their way. She clicked her mandibles, and a hundred purplish-white portals suddenly opened. A hundred Zeros stepped out, each covered in the same ice armor, and rushed forward.

?Beside her, Sage was fighting a fast Goblin wielding a spear, using her bamboo staff. She saw what Zero did, pulled out a handful of her own hair, and blew on it.

?Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!

?Thousands of Sages appeared out of thin air, each wielding a bamboo staff, and rushed headlong at the enemies.

?Since there was limited space on the ground, all of them summoned a cloud and used it to float toward the Goblins in the backline.

?Death, standing behind them, waved her scepter. She turned many of the fallen Goblins into the undead.

Yes, true undead she was now able to revive them with a full corpse, though the energy expenditure was significantly increased.

?She commanded the undead Goblins to act as cover for Sage and Zero, since these reanimated corpses were much more expendable than Zero and Sage’s clones.

?Vivianne and Sara looked at them in awe.

?Sara was in awe because she was proud of their growth, while Vivianne was impressed because her new companions were no pushovers.

?Sara and Vivianne looked at each other and nodded. They both were far more experienced, and it would look bad if they performed worse than the others.

?Sara summoned her magic tome. The book was now blackish-purple in color and looked ominous.

?She held it in her hand for a moment and then began activating spells. Magic circles of different colors bloomed across the battlefield like fireworks.

?Firebolts, lightning bolts, water bullets, stone spears, lasers, and all kinds of destructive attacks launched relentlessly from these magic circles.

?Many of the magic circles were support types, boosting speed, strength, and defense, creating protective barriers, and constantly healing.

?Suddenly, Night’s side, which was already way too strong, got a massive overall boost. Even Sage’s clones, which were supposed to go puff and vanish in one hit, became almost immortal because of her overwhelming support.

?Vivianne looked at this and didn’t want to be outdone. She began activating her own skills.

?[Blood Valor] [Soul Radiance]

?Suddenly, everyone felt as if their blood was boiling, their adrenaline shooting up and making them want to scream and throw themselves recklessly at the enemy. But simultaneously, they felt a soothing coolness descend upon their souls, completely clearing their minds.

?Everyone, including Night, received a huge boost in their strength and morale, making them fearless and calm. At the same time, Vivianne activated two more spells.

?[Blood Burn] [Fear]

?The Goblins suddenly felt as if their blood was burning like fuel, and what it fueled was their fear.

?The Goblins that usually had madness and malice in their eyes now only had terror and uncertainty. As time passed, they felt themselves growing weaker and weaker, making them dread what would happen next.

?Sara looked at Vivianne, noticing her cheat-like skills. She wanted to praise Night for bonding with such an monster.

?Nuwa chilled in the backline as she eyed all of them, just waiting for them to slip up so she could save them. She liked her role because it allowed her to slack off a little.

?Dolly, sitting beside Night, observed all of this intently.

?Night asked her, "What do you think? This counts as manipulation, right?"

?Dolly nodded. She then extended her small doll hands, and blackish-purple strings flew out of her fingertips, connecting with everyone on Night’s side.

?Everyone looked at the strings and didn’t know what they did, but they let them be after Night told them to trust her.

?Dolly then started pulling the strings. As she did, everyone who had been running around doing their own things suddenly started coordinating flawlessly.

?Previously, under Night’s commands, they had been fighting well together, but now they were moving as a single army.

?Especially Zero and Sage’s clones; they began moving seamlessly. Death’s undead also started attacking less like mindless zombies and more like highly trained soldiers. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

?The improvement was immediate. The number of Goblins dropping dead skyrocketed.

?Lucy finally managed to defeat the regenerating Goblin, utilizing all the massive buffs along with a strong spell from Sara and some help from Zero and the Undead Knight.

?She pulled its corpse into the shadows and dropped it beside the Nightmare Origin Tree, which immediately covered it with its roots and eagerly devoured it.

?Night closed his eyes as he felt something new merge with him. He immediately recognized what it was and smiled.

?Night thought, ’Life Aspect.’

’If I kill enough of those self-regeneration Goblins... I might actually awaken the aspect.’
