I Just Wanted Friends, But My Summons Keep Eating the Bosses (ND)
Chapter 168: God Rank Unique Being
While Sara and Vivianne sized up their opponents, both of Night’s clones reached the other two Demigod Goblins.
?One was a small Goblin holding a large hammer, and it looked at Night as if it had been waiting for him.
?The other Night clone was also blocked by a Goblin horde, similar to Sara and Vivianne’s situation.
?This Demigod Goblin sat on a metal throne made of weapons. It wore armor like a knight, and a shield and sword rested near its legs.
?The Goblins around this Demigod Goblin were more organized, standing in strict formation like a knight’s army.
?Night understood immediately that this one would be a tough opponent, not because of the massive army, nor because of their organized formation.
?But because of the gleam in the Demigod’s eyes. The intelligence in them made Night wary.
?Something about this Goblin felt wrong on an existential level; his instincts as a Unique Being screamed at him to take this opponent very, very, very seriously.
?This had not happened even when he stood before a Void God like [Zethe-thoth].
?And sure enough, the next thing the Demigod Goblin did proved Night’s instincts were on point.
?It leaned forward a little, its demeanor as cool as a cucumber. Its eyes shone with a profound gleam as it spoke. "I didn’t expect to meet a fellow Unique Being here. Can you stop your followers from attacking my followers?"
?Night didn’t know how to react. Weren’t Unique Beings supposed to be... you know, unique?
?First Blade, then me, and now this Goblin. That makes three on the same planet.
?[Dream] interjected, ’This guy is not from this planet. He is an Invader...’
?Night thought, ’Then why is this guy only a Demigod? Shouldn’t he be suppressed by the laws, or is he like Minerva? Using some trick to fool the world’s laws...’
?[Dream] replied reading his thoughts, ’I am afraid he is not fooling anything. He is suppressed to the Demigod Realm because his true rank is far above that.’
?Night got goosebumps all over his body because he knew the next rank was... God.
?The Goblin spoke again, "I know talking to a good-looking woman in your head is definitely better than talking to me, but lives are being lost here."
Its seems he was already aware of [Dream], this only made more vary of him since even [Blaze] a Primordial God has failed to notice her.
?The Goblin tapped his fingers on his armrest twice, releasing a sound wave that calmed all the Goblins. It also disrupted the skills Vivianne had used on them. His army immediately stopped fighting as well.
?Night looked at him and immediately asked his friends to stop fighting as well.
?He also asked them to return directly to his Inner Universe. Only his clones returned to him, standing silently by his side.
?He was already preparing to run away, but he doubted he could run faster than this Goblin, worst case he would release his main body and ask [Blaze] to used God’s Decent on him
?The Goblin smiled upon seeing the fighting stop. He looked at Night and said, "I apologize. I didn’t know there was already a Unique Being on this planet. The Immortal Angel failed to mention something so important."
?Night fummed internally, The Angel again? Does that guy, or gal, or whatever, have no shame? Sending trouble one after another to this planet...
And why am I always the one encountering them?
?Night asked something that had been bothering him, since according to what he knew, it had only been seven years since the System arrived.
?"You’ve already ascended and become a God?"
?Both were Unique Beings, but the Goblin in front of him was already a God (Rank 9), while he was stuck at Rank 2, the difference in levels was so huge that it wasn’t even funny.
?The Goblin didn’t answer directly; instead, he introduced himself. "I am Gabriel."
?Night was silent for a moment before doing the same. "I am Night."
?Only then did Gabriel elaborate, "I was lucky to be born at the center of this universe, in a place completely filled with dungeons. After birth, I killed, and I killed, and before I knew it, I became a God."
?He said it as casually as if it were no big deal at all.
?He then looked at Night and asked in puzzlement, "Why are you still stuck at Rank 2? Is it because you are playing a human? Why mimic them? I am sure if you let your true form out, you should become at least a Demigod in no time."
?Night said, not wanting to elaborate, "I have my problems."
?Gabriel nodded. "I see. Well, I was wondering why the planet was kicking me out instead of just suppressing me, but looking at you, I understand why."
?"Kicking you out?" Night repeated.
?Gabriel elaborated, "A nascent planet can only house a single Unique Being. Since you are here, and you look like you were born here, this planet decided to keep you and kick me out. It’s also why I said the Immortal Angel failed to mention something so important."
?"There is a rule like that?" Night asked.
?"Yes," Gabriel said. "It’s understandable that you don’t know of such things, since I am probably the only Unique Being you have met. But once you become a God, you will understand what I mean."
?Night looked at him blankly. He wanted to ask why Blade and him were able to stay on the same planet, but he held his tongue.
?He didn’t know the guy well enough to reveal something so important.
?But he did have a theory as to why he and Blade could coexist on this planet...
When Blade met me I wasn’t a full Unique Being, the system status said so.
I only became a full-fledged Unique Being after the recent evolution.
?To top it off, on the day I awakened fully as a Unique Being, Blade sort of died and bonded to me. So, technically, before that moment, there was only one Unique Being on the planet.
And after that there remained only one Unique Being since Blade had technically become part of me. We are probably not counted as two but one Unique Being.
There is a lot of probably and maybe but I think i am close to the answer.
?Gabriel smiled and then said "I guess it’s farewell. I hope we meet again." He didn’t wait for Night to respond.
?Gabriel and all the Goblins in the surrounding area vanished mysteriously.
?It was like soap bubbles popping. They simply popped right out of the world, if that was an accurate way to describe it.
?Night looked at the surroundings, now devoid of Goblins, feeling stumped. The recent series of events had been bizarre, to say the least.
He looked at the Desolate surrounding and thought, Natural Calamity Physique is this strong? How is it bring trouble to me halfway accoss the universe.
?The only proof the Goblins had even been there was their now-destroyed camp and the metal throne of weapons on which Gabriel had sat.
?Night called his friends again after checking the surroundins were safe and that Gabriel had truly left kr rather kicked out.
’We did would he be sent? I doubt he would be sent back to his planet of wherever he came from...
They appeared one after another from blackish-purple portals.
?Nuwa immediately clung to his neck like a scarf. She hadn’t seen any action today, but by the looks of it, she didn’t seem unhappy about it.
?Vivianne walked over to the weapon throne and examined it.
?"It’s made of some sort of alloy," she said. "I can tell it conducts very high levels of energy."
?Sara asked, "How high are we talking?"
?Vivianne ran a hand over it. "I think it should easily conduct peak Demigod-level energy, maybe even God-level energy. I think [Dream] called it Divine Source."
?"So this can be used to make good weapons?" Lucy asked.
?"Yes, that too, but it would be a waste to turn it into a weapon," Vivianne said. "I checked the System store frequently before, and all the blacksmiths there are average. They would definitely waste its potential."
?Sage scratched her head. "What did you have in mind? For a second, I finally thought I would get a good staff out of this."
?Vivianne turned to Night. "Didn’t you have a skill before that let you modify your body using any material? I think this should be perfect for that, right?"
?Night blinked. "I had completely forgotten about that. Can I still do that?"
?System Girl replied in his mind, "Yes, you should be able to do it."
?Night nodded. "We will use it for Body Refinement then. But let’s wait for Minerva. We should check if she wants a share."
?Vivianne was about to say something but stopped when she saw the others weren’t against the idea.
?She wanted to say, Finders keepers, but she swallowed her words.
?She was used to being selfish. Betrayal and backstabbing were not new to her; she had done many ruthless things to become the Devil Empress so fast without a cheat ability like devouring.
?While they waited, they molded the earth to create some seats.
?They chatted casually, as it was rare to have everyone in one place without any pressing agenda.
?...
?Arthur asked the dreaded question, "How many survived?"
?Ivan, Kwame, Amélie, Min-Jun, and Steven were unusually quiet at the question.
?"Why are you guys giving us the silent treatment...?" Rik asked nervously.
?Kwame sighed. "’Coz y’all nat ganna like what we abaout ta sayyy."
?"Say it," Zora demanded. "What can be worse than losing your city?"
?Steven replied bitterly, "Getting enslaved?"
?"What?????" Arthur exclaimed.
?Rik gulped. "Huh... I think my ears are under an illusion."
?"You are joking, right?" Zora asked.
?"Kuso!" Haruka cursed.(means Shit! in Japanese)
?"Tiān a!" Jingyi gasped. (means Heavens! in Mandarin Chinese)"
?Steven explained, "I don’t know how, but the Beast City Rulers were completely aware before we even got attacked by the Demigod monsters. They came to each of us with a deal."
?Ivan added, "The Lion King had become a Demigod. He used some rare System reward to merge our cities into his in exchange for us becoming his slaves. But at least the ordinary citizens managed to live."
?"Man I tried to fight him to a dual but that guy straight up ragdolled me," Kwame muttered.
?Arthur exhaled deeply. This was actually better than what he had feared.
?The others felt the same way.
Besides, they knew where the Lion King’s city was located. They could still salvage the situation in case the Lion King went overboard and did unsavory things just because he had reached the Demigod Realm.
