I Married a Commander and Became a Galaxy Star
Chapter 94 - 92: Both Numbers Were Drawn
Chapter 94: Chapter 92: Both Numbers Were Drawn
The host’s voice was as enthusiastic as ever. "Next up, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for—the prize drawing! Who will be the one to take home the limited-edition model? We have 50 lucky winners. Will you be one of them?"
"Win! Win! I wanna win!"
Xiao Juzi waved his two number cards, shouting in his adorable, childish voice.
Shu Yao’s eyes were filled with the sight of her little Zaizai, who was getting excited over nothing.
The ignored man at her side seemed displeased. He reached out, took her chin, and somewhat forcefully turned her gaze toward him.
Her breath hitched as she met his burning gaze.
With a panicked look, she silently reminded him that the child was still there.
The man knew the little guy’s attention wasn’t on them at the moment.
Xiao Juzi was completely swept up by the host’s high-energy rhythm, screaming and shouting at the top of his lungs.
He had no idea that the annoying pest behind him was doing something naughty to his beloved mommy!
Qin Shiwei leaned over, his thin lips pressing firmly against hers.
He kissed her with an urgency that suggested every second counted, a single, powerful motion.
Under the force of his domineering assault, the defenses Shu Yao instantly erected were rendered useless, shattering on impact.
Her rationality gradually crumbled.
Shu Yao was just starting to get into it.
But the man suddenly pulled away and sat back, resuming his usual abstinent and restrained demeanor, as if nothing had just happened.
Shu Yao pushed up her limp body and adjusted her posture. Biting her slightly swollen lips, she shot the man an angry glare, then lunged forward and bit his lip forcefully in retaliation.
Qin Shiwei touched the corner of his lip where she had broken the skin. It hurt a little, but he found it quite pleasant.
Just then, Xiao Juzi turned around.
Seeing his mother halfway draped over the man, he immediately glared at him with all his might, huffing angrily.
"You annoying pest, I won’t let you bully my mommy!"
The man just smiled, his eyes issuing a silent challenge to the little guy.
Xiao Juzi was so mad, he felt like he was about to cry!
Shu Yao pushed the man away and cleared her throat. "Sweetie, you misunderstood. Mommy was the one bullying—"
Before she could finish, Xiao Juzi’s ears suddenly twitched sharply.
"AHHHHH!"
The child let out a piercing, excited shriek.
"One-eighty-six! We won!"
"Mommy, our number was called!"
Shu Yao froze for a second. After hearing the host repeat the number, she started shouting in the next instant, too.
"AHHH, WE WON! WE REALLY WON!!"
Watching the excited mother and son hugging, Qin Shiwei couldn’t help but smile faintly.
The drawing continued, and two more lucky numbers were announced.
"Nine-ninety-two!"
Another lucky number was called!
Hearing the new number, Shu Yao, who hadn’t yet fully come down from the joy of winning, suddenly froze.
Xiao Juzi sensed something was wrong. "Mommy, what’s the matter?"
Shu Yao took the other number card from his hand.
992. It was the exact number the host had just announced.
’Winning with one number is one thing, but having both numbers drawn? Isn’t that a little too far-fetched?’
Holding the card, Shu Yao looked over at Qin Shiwei, her eyes asking a silent question.
Qin Shiwei denied it outright. "I didn’t do anything."
Upon hearing this, Shu Yao was visibly stunned, and her expression quickly darkened.
Of course, the change in her expression didn’t escape the man’s notice.
Qin Shiwei couldn’t help but ask, "What are you thinking?"
Shu Yao looked at him and said quietly, "I’m thinking about how you’re not the least bit surprised by any of this."
Qin Shiwei’s gaze drifted outside their booth, landing on an electronic camera hidden nearby.
When Shu Yao followed his gaze, she saw the camera, which had been pointed at them, quickly turn its lens in another direction.
It seemed to be deliberately avoiding her.
Qin Shiwei said, "His Majesty’s ’Heavenly Eye’ has been following us this whole time. I wouldn’t be surprised by anything he does to please his grand-nephew."
In other words, the fact that both of Xiao Juzi’s numbers were drawn was because the Emperor was pulling the strings behind the scenes.
"..." Shu Yao was speechless, and a very bad feeling washed over her.
She wasn’t sure if the Emperor was monitoring her son in other places, too.
Noticing her displeasure, Qin Shiwei waved a hand at the electronic eye as if shooing it away.
Like a dejected child, the electronic eye floated away reluctantly, looking rather pitiful.
With the addition of four Mecha models, the seating booth became a bit crowded.
Xiao Juzi was ecstatic to have won two limited-edition models; he was going crazy with joy.
He couldn’t wait to share his joy with his mommy, but he found her expression to be frighteningly dark.
Instantly, he stopped shouting and jumping, becoming much more subdued.
"Mommy..." Xiao Juzi called out in a small voice, feeling a bit lost. ’Did I get too wild and make Mommy mad again?’ he wondered.
But he noticed that his mommy’s gaze wasn’t on him.
Following his mommy’s line of sight, Xiao Juzi looked toward the two limited-edition models that had been delivered by a service robot.
He tossed aside the cards, abandoned the models, and climbed onto Shu Yao’s lap.
"Mommy, if you don’t like them, we don’t have to keep them!"
You could tell he was very reluctant to say it.
Shu Yao suddenly broke into a brilliant smile, hugging her son and rocking him back and forth like a roly-poly toy.
"Mommy doesn’t dislike them. I was just thinking, there are four models but only three of us. How are we going to carry them all out of here?"
Xiao Juzi thought for a moment, then looked at Qin Shiwei with a sly grin. "That’s easy! When we leave, Mommy can carry me... and the rest can be left to the annoying pest!"
Shu Yao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
This little Zaizai was really... something else. So considerate of his mother!
Qin Shiwei frowned slightly. "Didn’t you see when we came in? What kid was making their mother carry them?"
’Easy for him to say!’
Most of the parents who brought their children to the launch event were fathers; mothers were few and far between.
Leaning against his mother’s chest like a baby who hadn’t yet been weaned, Xiao Juzi righteously retorted to the annoying pest:
"They’re kids, but I’m still a baby! I’ll always be Mommy’s good little baby!"
The corner of Qin Shiwei’s mouth twitched. He raised his hand, placed it on the boy’s head, and gave his hair a rough ruffle.
Not to be outdone, Xiao Juzi mustered all his strength and pushed his head up against Qin Shiwei’s palm, his fierce expression screaming, ’This baby has a head of iron! I’m not afraid of you!’
