Chapter 721: Chapter 721: If He Wants to See Me, He Can Come Himself

’To think a place like this still exists in the world. It’s a paradise, the kind of secluded haven the ancients dreamed of retiring to.’

’Ethan Kingsley is really something else, finding a place like this to put me under house arrest where no one can bother us. It’s actually quite nice. I don’t have to worry about running into any danger.’

’This place is in the middle of nowhere. Even if someone managed to find it, they probably wouldn’t dare to step inside this log cabin. From the outside, it looks like a haunted house.’

Just as she was lost in thought, the old woman suddenly walked out of the log cabin, carrying a bucket of clothes.

Ivy Tanner immediately walked over and saw that the bucket contained her clothes, already washed. She quickly said, "Granny, I can wash my own clothes from now on. You don’t have to trouble yourself."

The old woman gestured again, but Ivy Tanner still didn’t understand. The woman then began to take the clothes out and hang them on a clothes rack made of bamboo.

Ivy Tanner silently helped, muttering as if to herself, "This place is quite beautiful. Granny, I’ll be here to keep you company from now on, so you won’t be bored."

The old woman smiled but didn’t reply.

After the clothes were hung up to dry, the old woman led Ivy Tanner into the woods. They didn’t walk far before stopping in front of a cage.

Ivy Tanner walked over in pleasant surprise. "Wow, you raise pigeons here!"

The old woman made some hand signs.

’Forget it.’ Ivy Tanner couldn’t understand, so she just said aloud, "Are these pigeons being raised for food?"

The old woman was amused by her words and chuckled. She patted Ivy’s shoulder and then pointed to something on a pigeon’s leg.

It finally dawned on Ivy Tanner. "Oh, carrier pigeons! I thought that was a lost art. Granny, is this how you communicate with other people?"

The old woman nodded.

Ivy Tanner thought for a moment, then asked, "Can you contact Ethan Kingsley with them?"

The old woman nodded and made a few gestures.

Ivy Tanner didn’t understand. She said, speaking her mind, "Alright, well, I don’t need to find him. I’ll never look for him again in this lifetime. As for what he wants you to do, just do what you need to do. Even if you kill me, I won’t hold it against you, and I won’t resist."

After she finished speaking, the old woman gave her a peculiar look.

Ivy Tanner smiled and changed the subject. "Never mind. Just pretend I’m being silly. Are there any other interesting places around here?"

The old woman shook her head and gestured again.

Ivy Tanner was at her wit’s end. "Granny, do you have a pen and paper here? Why don’t you write it down for me?"

The old woman nodded and led her back into the log cabin. She found a pen and paper and wrote down a few sentences.

"Mr. Kingsley asked me to take care of you. I will take good care of you."

"I used to be a midwife. I had surgery later and lost my voice."

"Don’t worry, I know how to take care of you and the child."

"If you need anything, just let me know. I can contact Mr. Kingsley and have him send someone to deliver it."

"Mr. Kingsley said you can also write to him yourself."

Seeing that last sentence, Ivy Tanner smiled and said, "Granny, there’s no way I’ll ever contact him again in this lifetime. If he wants to see me, he can come here himself. I really like this place. I don’t want to leave."

The old woman immediately wrote: I may not have many years left to accompany you. I’m getting old.

After reading it, Ivy Tanner said, "It’s alright. I won’t leave you. By the way, I still don’t know your name."

The old woman wrote: You can just call me Granny.

Ivy Tanner called out politely, "Granny, my name is Ivy Tanner. You can call me Iris."

Granny wrote: This forest is very large. You don’t know the way, so don’t wander off. If you get lost, you won’t be able to find your way back.

Ivy Tanner couldn’t help but ask, "Where is this place?"
