Chapter 727: Chapter 727: Are you saying I’m not smart enough?

Faye Dean struggled to sit up. "Help me up. I want to hug you."

Seeing her frown, her expression so pained, Frank Morgan couldn’t bear it. He said, "Don’t get up. I’ll stay here with you. I’m not leaving."

Faye Dean pouted. "I’m afraid I’ll fall asleep, and when I wake up, you’ll be gone again. I always tell myself that you’ll come back to me, but every time I wake up, you’re not here..."

"I’m not that strong. I need someone with me, too. I’m so scared of being lonely... I was so scared of being all alone when I gave birth... I’m so scared..."

Tears fell as she spoke.

Frank Morgan’s heart ached. He slowly leaned down and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.

Faye Dean immediately raised her arms. She couldn’t sit up, but hugging him like this was nice, too.

「Outside the hospital room.」

Seeing her best friend finally reunited with the man she loved, Claire Sinclair was so moved she was on the verge of tears.

Adrian Quincy suddenly wrapped an arm around her, his large hand resting on her round belly. "Claire, you’ve been out for too long today. Let’s go home."

Claire Sinclair wanted to say a few more words to her best friend, but she couldn’t bear to be a third wheel. "Alright, let’s go home," she said. "I’m getting a little sleepy."

Adrian Quincy immediately took her small hand and led her away.

Helen Wallace leaned against the wall, saying lazily, "Adrian, I’ll stay here. That guy Frank is pretty careless. I’m worried he won’t take good care of Faye."

Adrian Quincy nodded. "Call me if anything happens."

"Got it. Goodbye, Claire."

Claire Sinclair nodded, and the couple left the hospital.

That night, back at Evergreen Garden, Mrs. Quincy had cooked up another feast.

The sight of it made Claire Sinclair’s heart sink. As her pregnant belly grew larger, she couldn’t eat much at each meal. If she ate even a little too much, she would find it hard to breathe, so she could only eat small, frequent meals.

At dinner that evening, Claire Sinclair once again had to disappoint Mrs. Quincy. She looked apologetic. "Mom, I’m sorry. I really can’t eat another bite."

"It’s alright. If you get hungry later, Mom will heat it up for you," Mrs. Quincy comforted her while clearing the table.

Claire Sinclair wanted to help clear the table but was shooed away by Mrs. Quincy, who said that a daughter-in-law of the Quincy family shouldn’t do housework.

Resigned, Claire Sinclair went to the sofa to sit down and rest.

Adrian Quincy was sitting on the sofa, holding a tablet and engrossed in something.

Claire Sinclair scooted closer. "Adrian, what are you looking at?"

"The news."

"Any big news lately?"

As soon as Claire Sinclair finished asking, she saw the headline on the tablet: Kingsley Group Strikes Partnership with Ravia’s Top Conglomerate.

Adrian Quincy said calmly, "Ethan Kingsley has a lot of momentum lately. I’m afraid he’ll attract some jealousy."

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Aren’t you on a roll, too?"

A faint smile played on Adrian Quincy’s lips. "I rooted out the group that was impersonating my mother. That served to make an example of them. Until election day, no one will dare to touch my people again."

"I’m just worried some reckless people will try to cross the line," Claire Sinclair said, still feeling a lingering fear.

Still, the past few months had been quite peaceful. Nothing major had happened.

Adrian Quincy said lightly, "Claire, you’re not good with these things. Don’t worry about it."

Claire Sinclair pouted. "Are you saying I’m not smart enough?"

Adrian Quincy glanced down at her. Seeing the twinkle in her eyes, he couldn’t help but kiss her eyelids, then offered her a hint: "Corinne Linden might be in trouble."

"Huh?" Claire Sinclair was a bit confused.
