Chapter 726: Chapter 726: When You Get Better, I’ll Take You Home
Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "He’s not ugly at all. He looks a lot like you did when you were little."
Faye Dean was immediately displeased. "Claire, what kind of thing is that to say? I wasn’t ugly when I was little!"
Claire Sinclair smiled. "I meant his features. They look just like yours."
Faye Dean huffed. "That’s more like it. Just wait until I fatten this little guy up. If he’s still that ugly, I’m not raising him. I’ll just leave him with his dad."
Adrian Quincy couldn’t help but interject, "We could put him in a training camp."
Claire Sinclair said irritably, "The baby’s so young, and you already want to throw him into a training camp? Are all you men so heartless?"
Adrian Quincy softened his tone. "Girls are the ones you pamper. You can’t spoil boys."
Claire Sinclair rolled her eyes at him and started walking faster. "I can’t be bothered to talk to you. Faye, let’s pick up the pace."
A short while later, they all arrived at the hospital room.
The nurse helped Faye Dean into bed, placed the baby in the bassinet, and left after giving a few instructions.
Claire Sinclair sat by the hospital bed, holding her best friend’s hand. "Faye, you should rest for a while. I’ll watch the baby for you."
"Okay." Faye Dean was exhausted and a little despondent.
Her baby had been born, but the most important person in her life wasn’t by her side.
’Sigh... I guess this is just my fate.’
Faye Dean sighed and simply shut her eyes.
Just then, Adrian Quincy suddenly took out his phone and stepped outside, apparently to take a call.
A moment later, Claire Sinclair’s phone buzzed. She took it out and saw a message from The Great Demon King Quincy: Claire, come out.
Realizing what was happening, Claire Sinclair quickly got up and tiptoed out. Helen Wallace, who had apparently received the same message, followed suit.
The door to the hospital room closed and opened again. A sturdy figure walked in from outside and sat by the hospital bed.
Faye Dean was a light sleeper. She felt a calloused hand take hold of hers and opened her eyes in curiosity.
When she saw the man she’d been longing for day and night, tears instantly streamed from her eyes. There were a million things she wanted to say, but no words came out. She could only cry in silence.
Frank Morgan’s heart clenched painfully. He instinctively tightened his grip on her hand. "Faye, I’m sorry. It took me so long to come see you."
Afraid of waking the baby, Faye Dean scolded in a low voice, "What kind of person are you? I’ve never been treated so poorly in my entire life! Why do I have to suffer like this for you? Get out! I don’t want to see you at all!"
Panic seized Frank Morgan, and he only gripped her hand tighter. "I was wrong, Faye. I was wrong."
"Wrong? What are you wrong about? You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m the one who’s wrong! I’m the one who shouldn’t have fallen in love with you, who had to have your child, and who has to raise him all by myself now that he’s born!"
"You won’t have to raise him by yourself. Once you’ve recovered, I’ll take you home."
At his words, Faye Dean’s tears immediately stopped. "Really?"
Frank Morgan nodded. "Young Master Quincy secured an opportunity for me. Once you’ve recovered a little, I’m going to buy a move-in ready house in Evergreen Garden, and then I’ll bring my mom over to help take care of you."
"They still have houses available in Evergreen Garden??"
"Young Master Quincy had someone hold one for me."
Faye Dean raised an eyebrow. "Then do you have enough money for a move-in ready house?"
"I have the money. You don’t need to worry about any of that."
Faye Dean was skeptical, given how casually he said it. "Where did you get so much money?"
"Before I started working for Young Master Quincy, I was a hacker."
"A hacker!" Faye Dean was floored. "You’re actually a hacker!!!"
Frank Morgan caressed her hand and said softly, "My background is... complicated. Being with me could be dangerous, but I’ll protect you."
