Chapter 733: Chapter 733: Watch Your Mouth

A devilish smirk played on Ethan Kingsley’s lips. "I told you before, your life is mine. Don’t even think about dying without my permission."

Ivy Tanner snapped, "Ethan Kingsley, the election is almost here. You still have the time to be here talking with a dog? Aren’t you afraid of making your fiancée jealous?"

The faint smile on Ethan Kingsley’s face vanished at her cold remark. "Angering me won’t do you any good."

Ivy Tanner retorted bluntly, "I’m not looking for any favors. I just want you gone. Now, leave."

Ethan Kingsley’s cold eyes hardened. He reached out and gripped her chin, squeezing with enough force to nearly crush the bone.

Ivy Tanner averted her eyes, refusing to look at him or speak.

Ethan Kingsley squeezed for another moment. Seeing her endure the pain in silence, he released his grip and said in a deep voice, "I’ll have someone come install a new air conditioner tomorrow. Sleep with it on at night. Don’t get sick and cause me more trouble."

Ivy Tanner scoffed, "You could just ignore me completely."

Ethan Kingsley’s brows knitted together. "Don’t say that again. I told you, I won’t let you die."

Ivy Tanner laughed. "Ethan Kingsley, what’s the point of all this? I’m Mr. Rhodes’s wife. We’re legally married. If Claire Sinclair finds out you’re holding me captive here, she’ll definitely write an article exposing you. Your approval ratings will plummet!"

Ethan Kingsley looked at her naive face, and a sinister smile touched his lips. "You think she doesn’t know I have you locked up here? Ha..."

Ivy Tanner’s lips parted, but she was suddenly at a loss for words.

’Of course. How could Claire Sinclair not know? She’s just powerless to help.’

Ethan Kingsley continued, "Election Day might just coincide with the day Claire Sinclair goes into difficult labor. When that happens, will Adrian Quincy choose to be at the hospital with his wife, or will he be on the campaign stage giving his speech?"

At his words, Ivy Tanner’s eyes widened, and she stared at him as if he were a demon. "What are you planning to do to her?"

A sinister glint flashed in Ethan Kingsley’s eyes. "When I want something," he said coldly, "I’ll get it, by any means necessary. That office is no exception."

Ivy Tanner immediately shot back, "Someone like you has no right to be president! You’re not worthy!"

Ethan Kingsley’s hand shot out again, gripping her chin so forcefully it contorted her features. "Watch your mouth," he warned. "Understand?"

Ivy Tanner bit down hard on her lip, not daring to say another word.

He abruptly let go, his tone softening. "You should count yourself lucky your due date is a month after Claire Sinclair’s. If you were unfortunate enough to be due on Election Day, I wouldn’t care if you lived or died. Understand?"

’That wasn’t a hypothetical. It was a warning.’

’If she tried to pull any stunts on Election Day, he would simply stand by and watch.’

’In other words, even if someone tried to kill her that day, he wouldn’t lift a finger.’

’It seemed all she could do was pray that Corinne Linden didn’t know she was here, that *no one* knew she was in this place. Otherwise...’

’No, she couldn’t think that way.’

’He was going to use Claire Sinclair to get to Adrian Quincy on Election Day. If Adrian lost the election, Ethan would become president. Wouldn’t Aridia be plunged into chaos?’

’No. I can’t let him take that office!’

’She had to find a way to get word to Corinne Linden. She had to tell that woman she was here, and that she was carrying Ethan Kingsley’s child.’

’Then he would have to face the same kind of dilemma.’

’His own flesh and blood versus that office... what choice would he make?’

’Yes. That’s what I’ll do.’

Her resolve hardening, Ivy Tanner gave a meek nod. "I understand."
