Chapter 574: Chapter 369: Fight Until Dawn, Whoever Chickens Out is a Dog

WHOOSH...

A sudden gust of wind made the raging sea of fire surge. The blaze intensified in an instant, immediately swallowing a courtyard that had just been licked by the flames.

THUMP THUMP THUMP...

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the distance as Fang Jingtang arrived at the scene of the fire in the northern sector with a group of his men.

He stared at the raging inferno before him and the flames rapidly spreading eastward, his face ashen and so grim it seemed to drip with menace.

"It’s over, it’s over... The fire is starting to spread east..." a heavyset minor leader said, his face etched with grief.

He was a veteran member of the Red Blood Gang. Watching their home base get relentlessly devoured by the raging flames, his heart bled.

"Everyone, spread out and search! We have to find that arsonist! I’m going to flay him alive," Fang Jingtang said through clenched teeth, his refined, scholarly demeanor completely gone.

"Yes, sir!" the Red Blood Gang members responded in unison, about to disperse and search for the arsonist.

But at that very moment, a flash of fire suddenly appeared on the roof of a small, two-story wooden house in the distance. Then, a Fireball the size of a watermelon shot straight toward them from atop the building.

WHOOSH...

"Hm?" His face ashen, Fang Jingtang sensed the approaching danger and immediately looked up. He instantly saw a blazing Fireball shooting toward him from the distance.

"Everyone, get back!" Fang Jingtang reacted with incredible speed, shouting a warning to his subordinates before dodging to the side.

BANG.

The Fireball missed its target and exploded upon hitting the ground. Flames scattered in all directions. Some of the Red Blood Gang grunts who heard the warning but couldn’t react in time were caught in the blast, their clothes catching fire.

"AARGH..." With their clothes on fire, these Red Blood Gang grunts cried out in panic.

"Don’t slap at the flames with your hands! Get on the ground and roll!" the heavyset minor leader hurriedly shouted. Panicked and having lost their wits, the grunts immediately did as they were told, dropping to the ground and rolling around.

This method of extinguishing the fire was quite effective. In just a moment, the flames on their clothes were put out.

HUFF... PUFF...

The grunts had already spent a great deal of energy fighting the fire. Now, after being set ablaze and scrambling to put themselves out, they were utterly exhausted, both mentally and physically. They lay on the ground, panting heavily.

"All of you, get up! The enemy is here! Are you just going to lie there and wait to die?" the heavyset minor leader scolded.

The grunts, who had been hoping to rest for a moment, scrambled to their feet and followed everyone’s gaze.

A man wearing a black hood that exposed only his eyes and holding a dagger in his hand stepped out from the shadows. He stood calmly about ten meters in front of the assembled members of the Red Blood Gang.

"You were the one who just attacked us, weren’t you?" Fang Jingtang asked in a deep voice, his expression grave as he stared at the black-hooded man before him.

"I was," Lin Li replied, looking at the grime-covered Red Blood Gang members.

"And you’re the one who set this fire?" Fang Jingtang asked again.

"I am," Lin Li said, his tone indifferent, as if he had just done something utterly trivial.

His attitude completely enraged the members of the Red Blood Gang, who were already disheveled and worn out from the night’s fire.

"You motherfucker..."

A torrent of profanity erupted from the mouths of the Red Blood Gang members. Veins bulged on their foreheads, and they looked like they wanted to eat Lin Li’s flesh and drink his blood.

As the new Gang Leader of the Red Blood Gang, Fang Jingtang had been preparing to make his mark.

But now, half of their headquarters was up in flames. The losses were nothing short of catastrophic.

He suppressed the fury in his heart and asked Lin Li another question. "Who sent you to set this fire?"

"No one sent me. Setting fire to your home was just a sudden whim of mine," Lin Li said, his tone still flat.

"A sudden whim? You destroyed half of our headquarters because of a sudden whim... Good. Very good." Fang Jingtang laughed, his face contorted with rage. He found the man before him utterly absurd.

The members of the Red Blood Gang didn’t believe a word of it and began shouting indignantly.

"Gang Leader, this guy must have been sent by the Flying Dragon Gang! Let’s capture him! After a bit of harsh interrogation, he’ll spill the beans..."

"Instead of running away immediately after setting the fire, you dared to stay behind, ambush us, and even reveal yourself. You seem quite confident in your abilities, don’t you?" Fang Jingtang said ominously, then shot a look at his men.

The Red Blood Gang members understood immediately and nodded. They began to encircle Lin Li from the left and right, cutting off all his escape routes. They were trapping him like a rat in a cage.

The flames flickered nearby, illuminating the faces of everyone present.

Lin Li glanced at the Red Blood Gang members blocking his escape routes, completely unfazed by their actions. His tone remained perfectly calm, but his words were enough to make them spit blood in anger.

"My skills are just average, I guess. But taking care of all of you will still be a piece of cake..."

Although not all the members of the Red Blood Gang were present, there were still nearly sixty men on the scene, many of whom were core members.

A fighting force of this size and composition would be a power to be reckoned with in a real, no-holds-barred gang war.
