I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 213 - 195: Bloodline Descendant
Chapter 213: Chapter 195: Bloodline Descendant
It was an instinct honed by years of assassination missions.
A physical reaction faster than thought!
"This is bad!"
Even though he was just one step away from his target, Abel decisively chose to abandon the mission.
"Run, Senya!"
At this critical moment, his first thought was of Senya.
He wanted to escape quickly, too.
But in the next moment, the ceiling exploded. A soul-shaking roar accompanied the rain of rubble and wood splinters.
The shadow of a claw, crackling with dense arcs of electricity, slammed viciously onto Abel’s spine.
Blood sprayed from Abel’s mouth as it began to seep from his eyes and ears.
He instantly realized what had happened. ’I’ve been ambushed!’
Baron Vili had known about his plan all along.
Abel struggled with all his might to escape the massive claw. The price was steep: half the skin on his back was ripped away from the muscle, exposing some of his internal organs.
Abel finally saw clearly what had attacked him.
It was a giant bear. Even with its head lowered, its neck still reached the ceiling.
Its body was a mass of knotted muscle and crackling electricity. The terrifying aura it exuded made even him, a Grand Knight, tremble with fear.
"Senya, run! Don’t look back!"
The moment Abel saw Wally, he knew he couldn’t escape.
In his broken state, even with the power of a Grand Knight, he stood no chance against this terrifying beast. It was a dead end.
Now, all he could think about was using his own life to hold back the giant beast and buy Senya a chance to live.
Blood trickled down Abel’s body, dripping onto the floor.
The lightning that had coursed through him was still ravaging his internal organs.
Victory and defeat, life and death, were reversed in an instant.
A wave of despair washed over Abel. ’To think that after all this time, I’m going to die because of bad intel.’
’This Magical Beast in White Bear Town... it’s not Bronze Level at all. It’s Silver Level!’
"Wally, no survivors. Kill him!"
Vili gave the order directly.
He knew that even if he captured an attacker of this caliber alive, he’d never get any information out of him.
Besides, their identities were already obvious.
Who else but the Wata Duchy could send a Grand Knight to assassinate him?
’It’s just a shame that other one got away...’
Vili gazed into the distance.
The female assassin called Senya had already disappeared into the night.
In fact, Vili was quite curious about this female assassin. He had only caught a brief glimpse of her, but he felt something was off. Even as a Senior Knight, he hadn’t sensed her presence at all until he laid eyes on her. Moreover, her facial features seemed... different from a normal person’s.
’But judging from Abel’s actions, the young female assassin didn’t seem very strong.’
But Vili didn’t dwell on her. The most important thing right now was to eliminate the Grand Knight.
ROAR!
Wally instantly obeyed. Its massive body moved with surprising agility. The two hexagrams in its pupils spun in opposite directions, and lightning converged on Abel from all sides, enveloping him completely.
Abel tried to summon his Great Knight’s Fighting Spirit, but he discovered his body was too broken. The flow of his Fighting Spirit was sluggish and halting.
Before he could react, Wally’s massive claw pierced through his torso, shredding his organs.
With just a slight twist, his body would be split in two.
"Senya..."
Abel used the last of his strength to cast a final glance out the window.
No one was there.
’Good... Thank God she got away...’
Suddenly, the intense pain in his body didn’t seem to matter anymore.
’He remembered the first time he met Senya. She was just a child then. A cute little girl, like a porcelain doll.’
’He’d let her stay by his side ever since.’
’Even during all those years undercover in the Lanton Duchy, her company had brought him a sense of warmth.’
’What a pity he would never see her again.’
Abel’s consciousness began to grow dim; he could already feel death approaching.
’Those incompetent spies... they all deserve to die.’
But just as he was about to fall into endless darkness, Abel suddenly heard Senya’s voice again.
’Am I hearing things?’
Abel had never known it could take so much effort just to open his eyes. Through the blur, he saw Senya’s silhouette.
Her lips were forming the words...
"Let him go!"
’Let him go? Let him go!’
Abel panicked.
’Senya... she came back.’
Abel wanted to open his mouth and scream, "Run!"
But it was no use; he was dragged into that endless abyss.
’Senya... Senya... Run!!’
Inside the room, Wally tore Abel’s body in two.
Before it stood a slender, frail figure, trembling as she stared at it and Vili.
’She came back?’
Vili watched the female assassin, Senya, who had returned, a strange expression on his face.
’Did she come back just to die?’
"You killed him..."
Senya was emotionally unstable, seemingly on the verge of losing control.
Even facing two enemies who were clearly far more powerful than she was, she met their gazes head-on.
’The power inside her...’
Vili frowned.
’It’s a strange kind of power.’
’What kind of Secret Master is she?’
Vili felt a flicker of doubt.
Wally bared its maw of sharp teeth, ready to tear Senya to shreds, but stopped when Vili gestured for it to wait.
"You..."
Senya’s eyes slowly turned crimson. A layer of white fur began to sprout across her body, and a soft, slender tail shot out from the base of her spine.
An aura similar to that of a Magical Beast erupted from her.
"A Bloodline Descendant?"
Vili’s eyes widened in amazement.
Bloodline Descendants, even among all groups of Secret Masters, were considered one of the rarest Extraordinary Professions.
WHOOSH!
Senya blurred into an afterimage as she pounced at Vili.
What little sanity she had left screamed at her: this was the target Abel had wanted to kill before he died.
’It’s a Bloodline Descendant, all right.’
Facing Senya’s attack, Vili was not flustered.
’A weak Bloodline Descendant can’t control their emotions. They end up being dominated by the Bloodline itself.’
Vili swiped with one hand. A blast of Fighting Spirit shot out, slamming Senya into the wall.
Senya shrieked. Disregarding her injuries, she charged at Vili again.
’As crude as a wild animal. They say Bloodline Descendants are incredibly powerful, but one that’s lost its mind seems even less useful than a common Magical Beast.’
Vili kicked Senya in the lower abdomen, then elbowed her to the ground.
The sound of bones cracking echoed from Senya’s body under Vili’s heavy blows.
She tried to move, but Vili grabbed her by the neck and hauled her off the ground.
Senya struggled with all her might but was powerless to break free from Vili’s grasp.
Vili tightened his grip on Senya’s neck and studied her face.
’I wonder what the source of her Bloodline is...’
Right now, Vili could snuff out Senya’s life with just a little more pressure.
He weighed his options.
’It would be a shame to just kill a Bloodline Descendant. Then again, even if I let her live, a girl with her own will like Senya would probably never serve me.’
’A Bloodline Descendant...’
A fierce look appeared in Vili’s eyes.
’In that case, killing her is the simplest solution.’
Then, just as he was about to crush Senya’s throat, he felt Wally’s giant paw pat his shoulder.
"Hm?"
Vili looked back.
He saw Wally, tongue lolling out, gesturing with its other paw before letting out a low growl.
"You’re telling me to... let her go?"
Vili understood what Wally was trying to say, a flicker of confusion in his mind.
