Chapter 183: Chapter 127: Superman Tag

"Impossible. Absolutely impossible!"

Wu Jiahao’s voice suddenly shot up. "I’m an Extraordinary Awakened! How could my future potential possibly be lower than some Extraordinary Contactor?"

The words had barely left his mouth when he froze, a sudden realization dawning on him. He turned to Gu Qing and said,

"Wait! Did you Awaken? Are you an Extraordinary Awakened now?"

"No wonder. That explains why you suddenly joined an Awakened Squad and got so much stronger."

"You must have Awakened some incredible Superpower that drastically boosted your offense and defense. That’s how you were able to just tank the instructor’s self-destruction and pin him with one hand."

Wu Jiahao looked as if he’d had an epiphany, convinced he’d figured out the whole truth.

In his eyes, Extraordinary Contactors could never measure up to Extraordinary Awakened.

For Gu Qing to be this strong, he had to be an Extraordinary Awakened. One hundred percent.

"Don’t get the wrong idea. I haven’t Awakened."

Gu Qing looked at the smug Wu Jiahao and explained calmly, "I’m just overwhelmingly strong. Brute force overcomes all tricks."

’Overwhelmingly strong?’

’Brute force overcomes all tricks?’

’Only an idiot would believe that!’

Wu Jiahao was convinced Gu Qing was an Extraordinary Awakened.

And with that thought, it suddenly clicked.

’Wait!’

’Gu Qing deliberately hiding that he’s an Extraordinary Awakened... isn’t that just a classic flexing technique?’

’I get it!’

’Next time I run into an Extraordinary Being I don’t know, I’ll pretend to be an Extraordinary Contactor, too!’

’Then I’ll strike like lightning and show everyone what I’m made of!’

Wu Jiahao lost himself in a pleasant fantasy.

Just then, Liu Yue, who had a mild concussion, finally came to her senses. She rubbed her temples and ambled over to the other three.

When she stopped in front of them, Gu Qing asked with concern, "Liu Yue, are you alright?"

’The handsome guy is actually worried about me?’

’Could he have a crush on me?’

’See? Looks aren’t the most important thing for attracting a guy; it’s your personal charisma that matters most!’

Liu Yue, who considered herself to have a superior air about her, flashed Gu Qing a classic American-style smile. "A little shockwave from an explosion can’t hurt me. I’m feeling very nice right now."

Hearing this, Gu Qing was relieved.

He then said to the three of them, "Well, since we’re not doing anything, how about we have a good, satisfying spar?"

Liu Yue’s smile froze.

’So, he only asked if I was okay because he wanted to spar. He isn’t interested in me at all.’

Liu Yue composed herself and said, "You’re so strong, the three of us couldn’t beat you even if we ganged up on you. A spar would be pointless."

Gu Qing replied, "Simple. We can just suppress our power to Tier Four, the same as Shuran. Wouldn’t that work?"

This piqued Wu Jiahao’s interest.

He wanted to face Xia Shuran to size up her Martial Soul Superpower.

So he agreed, "That could work!"

Xia Shuran gave Gu Qing her unconditional support. "That’s a brilliant suggestion!"

Seeing that everyone else was on board, Liu Yue didn’t want to be the odd one out, so she chimed in, "A spar does sound pretty good. Let’s do it."

Gu Qing nodded and started organizing the spar. "Alright, then. Let’s all suppress our Biological Levels to Tier Four."

"Shuran and I will be one team. Wu Jiahao, you and Liu Yue will be the other. We’ll do a 2v2."

"This way, we can train our individual skills and improve our teamwork. Kill two birds with one stone. Perfect."

No one had any objections. In fact, it was exactly what they wanted.

Both Wu Jiahao and Liu Yue were very interested in the Martial Soul that Xia Shuran had unleashed earlier.

They wanted to see who was stronger—themselves or Xia Shuran—when fighting on an even tier.

As for Gu Qing...

The two of them didn’t even consider him a threat.

An Extraordinary Contactor with no Superpower, when at the same Level as an Extraordinary Awakened, was nothing more than a toy. Anyone could show up and wipe the floor with him.

Because of this, they figured Gu Qing wouldn’t actually be honest and suppress his Level to Tier Four.

He’d probably realize he couldn’t beat anyone and secretly raise his Level mid-fight.

...

「An hour later.」

Gu Qing stood with a calm expression, while Xia Shuran was bent over, hands on her knees, gasping for breath.

Meanwhile, Wu Jiahao and Liu Yue were both sprawled on the ground, staring up at the blue sky, their faces etched with the shock of a life-altering experience.

They had lost. Lost miserably.

They had been completely dominated by Xia Shuran’s Martial Soul, pinned to the ground and unable to fight back at all.

But that wasn’t what left them feeling the most helpless.

What truly crushed them was that Gu Qing had kept his Biological Level suppressed at Tier Four the entire time, yet he had still effortlessly taken them on two-on-one and demolished them.

It was enough to shatter their confidence.

But it wasn’t their fault they were so outmatched. The simple truth was that the Lightning Reflexes Attribute was just too broken.

Even with their Superpowers, they couldn’t close the enormous gap created by that one stat.

It was a classic case of brute stats overwhelming clever mechanics.

[You and your friend, Xia Shuran, have been fighting using Ancient Martial Arts for over one hour]

[Current Points: 11]

’Nice. Another point in True Martial Arts Dao, and my body got stronger again.’

A satisfied smile spread across Gu Qing’s face as he read the text prompts.

Just then, the phone in his Storage Pouch began vibrating frantically.

Gu Qing dismissed the text prompts and, with a thought, retrieved his phone.

He glanced at the screen and saw a flood of messages from Lin Tianyang on WeChat.

They were all about Hai City University.
