I'm Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten
Chapter 186 Flustered Jiang Xueli
Chapter 186: Chapter 156: Flustered Jiang Xueli
Seeing Lin Zhengran giving a one-on-one coaching session, Jiang Jingshi and Pan Lin slowed their steps to avoid disturbing him.
Wang Lan walked over to greet them. "President Jiang, you’re back."
Jiang Jingshi nodded and raised her hand. Wang Lan immediately understood what she meant, and the three of them watched Lin Zhengran, listening as he imparted his techniques to a company employee.
During a moment when Lin Zhengran paused to drink some water, Pan Lin commented admiringly, "President Lin is truly a rare prodigy. If he ever wanted to take the stage himself, I feel like no one else would stand a chance."
Pan Lin’s words were a bit of an exaggeration, but they reflected what Wang Lan and Jiang Jingshi were thinking at that moment. None of them had ever seen a sixteen-year-old genius who could so completely master complex theories. Not only that, but he could also teach others, tailoring his advice to correct each person’s specific weaknesses.
Seeing Jiang Jingshi still standing, Wang Lan quietly reminded her, "President Jiang, you should sit. President Lin will probably be a while."
Jiang Jingshi replied that she was fine. A moment later, Lin Zhengran happened to look back and see her. He smiled and pointed to the sofa nearby.
Only then did Jiang Jingshi nod back at Lin Zhengran.
The three of them then sat on the sofa to wait.
Finally, around four o’clock, Lin Zhengran’s one-on-one coaching session ended. He stood up, and Jiang Jingshi and the others walked over.
"Zhengran, you really are a great teacher. I was just listening in, and even I learned a lot."
Lin Zhengran didn’t boast, just offered a few polite words. "Are you finished with your business, Jiang?"
"It was just a meeting. I came right back after it was over."
Wang Lan also chimed in with a few words before leaving temporarily for another matter.
Hearing the remaining two start to chat, Pan Lin figured that President Jiang and President Lin probably wouldn’t sit down for a long talk today, as it was already getting late.
She glanced at Jiang Jingshi’s earrings, wondering how she could remind President Lin about them.
But just then, Jiang Xueli, having finished her MV shoot for the day and changed her clothes, walked over from a distance.
"Zhengran!"
Pan Lin’s heart sank. ’With Jiang Xueli here, this probably isn’t going to happen...’
Who would have thought that Lin Zhengran would suddenly bring it up himself in the middle of their conversation? "Oh, right, Jiang. I forgot to ask this morning. Are those the earrings from the picture you sent me last time? They look really good."
Jiang Jingshi froze for a second, and Pan Lin watched them intently. Hearing his words, Jiang Jingshi gently touched the artistic earrings. Their design resembled stars falling from the sky—delicate and elegant, understated yet exquisite.
"Yes, they’re the ones. You said this style would look good on me, so I bought them."
Lin Zhengran praised, "These delicate earrings are truly beautiful on you, Jiang. They really complement your disposition."
A faint blush appeared on Jiang Jingshi’s cheeks. Being complimented by someone you care about is a completely different feeling from being complimented by just anyone. Her expression clearly brightened at this small detail. "Is that so?"
"Mm, it’s true."
Seeing Jiang Jingshi so happy, Pan Lin also smiled happily. ’President Jiang finally got her wish,’ she thought.
Jiang Xueli walked over, greeted Jiang Jingshi, and mentioned that she had finished recording her MV.
Lin Zhengran then said his goodbyes to Jiang Jingshi. "Well, Jiang, if there’s nothing else for the evening, I should be heading back. Lili has been shooting all day and needs to rest, otherwise tomorrow’s outdoor shoot will be difficult."
Pan Lin asked, "President Lin, are you taking Lili home?"
Her words carried a hidden meaning. Although he was still a student, it was nighttime. Lin Zhengran was no ordinary student, and in this day and age, a young man and woman alone together...
Fortunately, Lin Zhengran’s answer was: "Yes, I’m taking her home."
Only then did Pan Lin breathe a sigh of relief.
Jiang Jingshi also said politely, "Then you two should head back and get some rest. Should I have someone drive you?"
"No need, Jiang. We can just grab a cab. We’ll be going now. Don’t forget to get some rest yourself."
Jiang Xueli also bid a polite farewell. "Goodbye, President Jiang."
The four said their goodbyes. Lin Zhengran and Jiang Xueli left Zhengshi Music, while Jiang Jingshi and Pan Lin remained in the lobby, watching their departing figures.
Jiang Jingshi recalled the compliment he had just given her.
She couldn’t help but touch her earring again, a happy smile playing on her lips as she gave Pan Lin an instruction. "Pan Lin, didn’t I recently order some medium-sized earrings?"
"Yes, there were a few pairs you’ve been wanting to buy. You said you really liked them," she responded.
Jiang Jingshi didn’t hesitate. "Change them all to the delicate style. I don’t want the medium-sized ones anymore."
Pan Lin thought, ’All because of that one thing President Lin just said...’
"Alright, I understand. I’ll contact the shops tonight and have them switch out all the medium styles."
After speaking, she followed Jiang Jingshi’s gaze and looked again in the direction Lin Zhengran had left, watching as he seemed to be laughing and chatting with Jiang Xueli.
She didn’t want to admit it.
But some things that seemed easiest to obtain were, in fact, the most difficult for President Jiang to get—like President Lin himself.
After leaving Zhengshi Company, Lin Zhengran and Jiang Xueli hailed a cab back to the city.
In the car, Jiang Xueli was full of energy, clenching her small fists as she tirelessly told Lin Zhengran about all the interesting things that happened during the MV shoot that afternoon.
For example, she described the mistakes she made during filming, or the times she couldn’t help but laugh despite being nervous.
She wondered what the finished product would look like.
She also brought up the matter of the team. "Zhengran, if I get a team, will I have to perform as part of a group from now on whenever I sing?"
Lin Zhengran explained:
"Of course not. We’re putting together a team for you, but in reality, ninety percent of your performances will still be solo. The purpose of the team is just so that when you participate in certain group programs, you can give some of our company’s other members a chance to shine."
