Chapter 525: Chapter 520: A Shocking Change, Experts from All Sides

"Let’s go in."

After the great door opened, the two figures flickered and entered.

The moment they stepped inside, the entire atmosphere of the space changed abruptly.

The interior was a scene of utter ruin. Magnificent buildings stood tilted and askew, while in some places, the ground had caved in to reveal bottomless pits roiling with black gas.

The entire place gave off a deathly, stagnant feeling, leaving one to wonder just what had happened here.

Ning Jiang extended his Primordial Spirit to investigate the area, but as soon as his Primordial Spirit Power spread out, a wave of Yin Evil Qi tried to corrode his Primordial Spirit.

In this place, Primordial Spirit Power was rendered completely useless.

"This place is bizarre. The Evil Qi is too dense. I’m afraid something calamitous happened here," Ning Jiang said slowly.

Generally, places with such dense Evil Qi are the result of an immense number of living beings having died there.

The space beneath the ancient well back in Cyan Cloud Country had also been filled with a similar, incredibly dense Evil Qi. This was the second time he had encountered such a thing.

The Evil Qi here was just as strong as that place, if not stronger.

"I noticed it too. From the outside, you couldn’t tell anything was wrong, but the moment I stepped in, I felt completely uneasy." A hint of gravity appeared in Gu Huaying’s beautiful eyes.

"Well, since we’re here, we may as well see it through. Let’s go and get a good look at this place."

The two picked a direction and were just about to head forward.

BOOM!

Suddenly, the ground shook violently.

Then, a tyrannical wave of Energy erupted.

The two quickly turned to look, only to see brilliant white lights soaring into the sky. The source was none other than the White Jade Pillar Group they had passed through earlier.

"That’s the place we just came through. Strange, what’s going on?"

Gu Huaying froze. Reflected in her beautiful eyes, colossal pillars of light shot skyward, a truly astonishing sight.

"With a commotion like this, we won’t be the only ones to discover these Ancient Ruins."

Ning Jiang’s gaze tightened slightly. He knew such a massive disturbance would inevitably attract other Martial Artists, but that wasn’t what concerned him.

What he truly worried about was this inexplicable, sudden change!

’Ao Lie and Ao Fengfeng wouldn’t have deliberately caused such a commotion; there’s no benefit in it for them. As for the external Array acting up on its own, that’s also unlikely.’

As Ning Jiang spoke, a sharp glint gradually appeared in his dark eyes. "What I fear is that some other, unknown entity deliberately triggered this change to lure people here!"

"You mean, there’s someone else inside these Ancient Ruins?"

Gu Huaying was startled. She was a sharp woman, and after a moment’s thought, she realized the current situation was indeed very strange.

These Ancient Ruins were far too bizarre, completely different from any other ruins she had explored before.

...

Over the vast ocean surface, pillar after pillar of white light shot into the heavens, blasting a massive hole through the clouds.

"Huh? Something’s happening!"

The first to spot these pillars of light were a pair of similar-looking men. Their faces were bronze, their skin had a metallic texture, and their eyes shone brightly, like two glittering black gems.

They were a pair of twins.

"Hahaha, the heavens are smiling upon us! A phenomenon like this most likely means a Treasure is emerging. Let’s go!"

The two brothers laughed heartily and rushed over at once.

A hundred miles away, atop a cliff, sat an old man in a straw raincoat. He was short, with a small mustache, small eyes, and a high forehead. He sat cross-legged, holding a fishing rod. At its tip was a line thinner than a strand of hair.

At that very moment, the fishing line was pulled taut. If one looked closely, they would see a mountain-sized shadow in the water below, struggling frantically to escape the line.

But the old man sat there, his fishing rod as steady as a mountain, not moving an inch.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, the old man’s gaze focused as he looked at the white pillars of light shooting into the sky in the distance.

"Interesting."

He stood up and gave the fishing rod a gentle lift. A monstrous, mountain-sized fish was hoisted into the air. The monster twisted its body mid-air, opened its great maw, and tried to swallow the old man whole.

The old man’s expression didn’t change. He simply gave his wrist a slight flick, and the fishing line in his hand quivered a few times.

SPLTCH.

The next moment, the monster’s body dissolved into thousands upon thousands of chunks of flesh, every single piece identical in size.

Blood rained from the sky!

But the old man in the straw raincoat had already vanished, transforming into an afterimage as he sped forward.

「Elsewhere.」

"Ah! Lady Black Scorpion, what will it take for you to let us go?"

A group of people was fleeing frantically. Their faces were filled with terror, their clothes were tattered, and their bodies were covered in needle marks.

Chasing them was a voluptuous, middle-aged beauty. She wore a tight-fitting black outfit that accentuated her full figure, and her purple lips gave her a demonic allure.

"Hee hee, weren’t you the ones who wanted to have your way with me earlier? Why are you running now?"

The beautiful woman known as Lady Black Scorpion let out a seductive laugh that could ignite desire in any who heard it. Yet, within her laughter was an icy chill. As she spoke, she flicked her fingers lightly.

SWISH SWISH SWISH...

Invisible, transparent needles shot out, piercing the bodies of the fleeing group.

"Aaargh!"

The men immediately screamed in agony.

Lady Black Scorpion had no intention of killing them. The needles all avoided vital points, posing no threat to their lives, but inflicting immense pain.

"We were blind fools for not recognizing you! We know we were wrong, please spare us!"

"Oh, men. So heartless. One moment you’re begging to have your way with me, the next you’re begging me to let you go? You’re breaking my heart."

Lady Black Scorpion followed behind them, her pace unhurried. Her eyes held a mocking expression, the kind one has when looking at a toy!

It seemed that in her eyes, this group of men was nothing more than playthings for her amusement.

"Lady Black Scorpion, you crazy bitch! You’ve already chased us for a thousand miles, haven’t you tortured us enough?"

"Hee hee, but I was planning to chase you to the ends of the earth." Just as Lady Black Scorpion’s words faded, she suddenly noticed the white pillars of light shooting into the sky in the distance.

"Oh? Looks like I can’t play with you anymore."

A cold glint flashed in her eyes. The next moment, several black needles shot from her hand.

THWIP.

In the same instant, every man was pierced between the eyebrows. Not even the Primordial Spirits within their seas of consciousness were spared. A black spot spread rapidly from each needle hole, and in the blink of an eye, their bodies melted into pools of pus.

The black needles were coated in a deadly poison!

「Meanwhile.」

Far away in the sky, a large man carrying a greatsword on his back appeared. His eye sockets were completely empty!
