Chapter 565: Chapter 560: Celestial Eye Divine Techniques

Nocturnal City, a giant city located deep beneath the sea.

After leaving Mist Island, Ning Jiang and Little Dragon Girl had made their way here. They walked among the crowd, their wide black robes concealing their faces.

Ning Jiang had returned to rendezvous with Gu Huaying.

However, not long after entering the city, he sensed an unusual atmosphere. People were buzzing with discussion, and it seemed something major had occurred.

"Have you heard? Members of the Chaos Alliance have arrived in Nocturnal City. It seems they went to see the Pearl King."

"The Chaos Alliance is looking for the Pearl King? What could they want? The Pearl King and the Chaos Alliance aren’t enemies, are they?"

Hearing their conversation, Ning Jiang frowned, keenly sensing that something was amiss.

"Let’s hurry. We need to find Gu Huaying first," he said.

He and Gu Huaying had arranged to meet at a teahouse, so he immediately quickened his pace and headed toward it.

...

In the center of Nocturnal City stood a sprawling complex of magnificent halls. This was the residence of the Pearl King.

At this very moment, several tyrannical auras filled the reception hall. The pressure was so intense that even an expert of the Heaven-Reaching Realm would feel suffocated upon entering.

There were four figures in the hall.

One man sat on the main throne. He was tall, and his skin was like a pearl, emitting a lustrous glow. It was so flawless that not a single pore could be seen, perfectly smooth all over.

This was none other than the master of Nocturnal City, the Pearl King.

Seated below him were three other figures. All three possessed terrifying auras; they were all Celestial Martial Realm Kings. One of them in particular, a man with white hair and a white beard, had a naturally authoritative gaze. The aura emanating from him was the most powerful of the three.

"You have all traveled a long way to be here. Your presence brings great honor to Nocturnal City," the Pearl King said from his throne, cupping his hands in a formal greeting.

"You’re too kind, Pearl King," the white-haired elder replied. "We have come uninvited, so please forgive the intrusion."

"Not at all, Grand Elder Ao, you overstate things," the Pearl King said courteously. This elder had an extraordinary background. He was Ao Wubian, the Grand Elder of the Flood Dragon Clan. His power had reached the level of a Six-Stars King, second only to the Flood Dragon King himself.

The other two were the Grand Elders of the Three-headed Snake Clan and the Blood Shark Clan. Though slightly less powerful, they were still Four-Stars Kings.

Any one of these three was stronger than he was. The Pearl King himself was only a Three-Stars King. Under such circumstances, he had no choice but to receive them with the utmost caution.

"May I ask what brings you three esteemed guests all this way?" the Pearl King asked.

’People don’t make a trip like this without a reason,’ he thought. He certainly didn’t believe they were here just for a friendly chat.

"Since you’ve asked, Pearl King, I won’t beat around the bush," Ao Wubian said, getting straight to the point. "I am here on the orders of my Clan Leader—the leader of our alliance—to formally invite you, Pearl King, to join our Chaos Alliance."

Upon hearing this, a flicker of gravity crossed the Pearl King’s eyes.

The current leader of the Chaos Alliance was the Flood Dragon King. ’An invitation to join the Chaos Alliance is no small matter,’ he thought.

"I am grateful to the Flood Dragon King for his high regard. However, this is a matter I must consider carefully before giving an answer," the Pearl King said, trying to stall.

"Consider?" Ao Wubian snorted, his eyes showing his displeasure. "Is it because you are acquainted with the Celestial Treasure King that you look down on our Chaos Alliance?"

"Of course not, Grand Elder Ao. You overstate things."

The Pearl King would never admit it, of course. ’The Chaos Alliance is a formidable power, and they’ve come here aggressively,’ he thought. ’They’re clearly trying to force me to pick a side. I know that one careless misstep could give them the very excuse they need to deal with me!’

"Fine. If you don’t wish to join the Chaos Alliance, that’s your choice," Ao Wubian said, his tone shifting. "However, there is one favor that I must ask you not to refuse."

The Pearl King’s brow twitched. He knew this would be difficult to refuse and could only say, "If it is within my power, I will certainly do my best."

"Haha, your words put my mind at ease, Pearl King," Ao Wubian laughed heartily. "It’s quite simple, really. We want you to perform your Innate Divine Technique once to help us find the Celestial Treasure King’s daughter, Gu Huaying!"

"What? Perform my Innate Divine Technique?"

At these words, the Pearl King’s expression darkened instantly.

His true form was a pearl oyster. He had cultivated for thousands of years to become a King. Like most members of the Demon Race, he possessed his own Innate Divine Technique.

His Innate Divine Technique involved using the pearl within his body to cast a kind of Celestial Eye art. It wasn’t an offensive Divine Technique, but rather one used for locating people.

He could find almost anyone, as long as he had met them before.

Of course, performing such an Innate Divine Technique was not without a cost. Each use would shave off a hundred years of his lifespan.

Furthermore, he couldn’t locate anyone whose power surpassed his own.

"I trust you won’t try to claim you’ve never met Gu Huaying? I know for a fact that the Celestial Treasure King has brought his daughter to visit Nocturnal City on several occasions."

When the Pearl King remained silent, Ao Wubian’s expression soured. "I’m sure the Pearl King understands that it’s better to have another friend than another enemy!"

"Using this Divine Technique costs a hundred years of my life each time. Isn’t that asking too much, Grand Elder Ao?" the Pearl King said.

"Rest assured, we would never ask you to sacrifice your lifespan for nothing. As compensation, we will gift you a wealth of precious treasures," Ao Wubian said nonchalantly.

The Pearl King was left speechless. ’They’ve clearly come prepared,’ he thought, ’and won’t give me any chance to refuse.’

"It’s time to make your position clear, Pearl King," the Grand Elder of the Three-headed Snake Clan said coldly. "Nocturnal City wasn’t built easily. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see it destroyed, would you?"

"Pearl King, now that we are here, we will not be returning empty-handed!" the Grand Elder of the Blood Shark Clan added threateningly.

Ao Wubian simply stood with his hands clasped behind his back, silently awaiting the Pearl King’s response.

Though furious at their aggressive posturing, the Pearl King felt utterly helpless. If these three were to attack him now, he would be lucky to escape with his life.

And behind them stood the immense power of the Chaos Alliance, an entity he could not possibly afford to offend.

"Fine! Fine! I’ll do it!"

No matter how reluctant he was, the Pearl King had no choice but to agree. The situation was beyond his control; he had to bow to their demands.

"Hahahaha! A wise man knows when to yield. I have long heard of the fame of your Celestial Eye Divine Technique, Pearl King. Today, I finally get to witness it myself. Please, begin."

Ao Wubian boomed with laughter.

The Pearl King suppressed his inner fury, opened his mouth, and spat out a pearl. Its light was blazing, even brighter than the Treasure Pearl that hung high above Nocturnal City.

Even an expert of the Heaven-Reaching Realm would be blinded if they stared directly into its light.

"By Heaven and Earth, across the eight wastes and six harmonies! Celestial Eye Divine Technique, let nothing hide! Appear!"
