Chapter 576 - 571: Battling Little Divine Leg Li Shaoyou
Chapter 576: Chapter 571: Battling Little Divine Leg Li Shaoyou
The fifth floor. This was the limit for experts of the Earth Martial Realm.
This was a peculiar space. Before him lay a series of winding, twisting corridors leading to unknown destinations.
A maze.
Ning Jiang wasn’t particularly surprised. Before coming, Gu Huaying had already told him that the outermost area of the fifth floor was a maze.
But now, both Gu Huaying and Little Dragon Girl were nowhere to be seen, leaving Ning Jiang all alone. This was the fifth floor’s peculiarity: upon entry, a Martial Artist would be randomly teleported by Space Power, ensuring that no two people ever appeared together.
’Since I’m here, I’ll take it as it comes.’
Ning Jiang was unperturbed.
As for Gu Huaying’s and Little Dragon Girl’s safety, he wasn’t worried. The two were prodigies on the Hidden Dragon List with considerable strength, so they were unlikely to face any life-threatening danger.
Picking a passage at random, Ning Jiang headed inside.
He tried to spread his Primordial Spirit Power to scout the maze, but it was heavily suppressed, only able to cover a range of several yards around him.
BOOM!
Clenching his hand into a fist, Ning Jiang struck the wall beside him. A Fist Seal appeared on its surface, but it soon began to heal, vanishing bit by bit.
Ning Jiang shook his head. ’Looks like breaking through the walls is out of the question.’
That punch had used about seventy percent of his power, but he could feel that it would be very difficult to destroy this wall even at full strength. Moreover, the wall could automatically recover; attacking it was just a waste of Spiritual Qi.
After walking for a few hundred feet, passages appeared on his left and right. Without overthinking it, Ning Jiang chose the right and continued on, but it wasn’t long before he came to another fork in the path.
「Meanwhile.」
A well-built young man was making his way through the maze.
"This damn maze is nothing but corridors."
The youth was rather handsome, but his most striking feature was his legs. They were remarkably long and slender—far longer than an average person’s—and with each step he took, he maintained a perfectly uniform stride.
If anyone with enough experience were here, they would recognize him as the Hidden Dragon List prodigy, "Little Divine Leg" Li Shaoyou.
With the opening of the Myriad Treasures Exquisite Tower, not a single prodigy from the Hidden Dragon List was absent. Li Shaoyou had entered this place hoping to try his Luck, find some Treasures, and improve his own strength.
’He knew that among the prodigies on the Hidden Dragon List, his own ranking was relatively low, no match for the likes of Chu Xinghun, Ao Lie, and Little Dragon Girl. That was why this opportunity was so important to him.’
’If he had a stroke of fortune, he might just make a breakthrough and rise to become one of the top figures on the Hidden Dragon List.’
"Hm?"
After turning a few corners, Li Shaoyou’s gaze sharpened. He saw a door on the wall, clearly leading to a room.
’I hope there’s something worthwhile in here.’
A look of anticipation flashed in Li Shaoyou’s eyes as he quickened his pace and headed over.
But just as he neared the room, the sound of footsteps reached his ears.
’Not good. Someone’s here.’
Li Shaoyou’s brows furrowed. He looked up and saw a young figure emerge from the corner ahead.
The newcomer was Ning Jiang himself. He had been navigating the maze purely on instinct, wandering wherever it took him, only to run into someone else.
"You’re Ning Jiang, right?" Li Shaoyou glanced at Ning Jiang, having recognized him.
The Other Shore had put a bounty on Ning Jiang’s head, so his portrait had been seen by nearly every Martial Artist in the East Sea. Li Shaoyou was no exception, especially since Ning Jiang was also on the Hidden Dragon List. It was only natural for him to take notice.
"I found this first. You can leave," Li Shaoyou said.
But Ning Jiang showed no intention of leaving, saying coolly, "Just because you found it, doesn’t mean it’s yours."
At his words, Li Shaoyou’s eyes narrowed, his expression turning hostile. "So you’re saying you want to make an enemy of me? Ning Jiang, I advise you to think carefully. You’ve already made plenty of enemies!"
"Why so much nonsense? In the world of Martial Artists, strength is what speaks." Ning Jiang’s attitude was cold. A few mere words were hardly enough to intimidate a man like him.
"Hmph, I gave you a chance. Since you insist on making an enemy of me, I’ll have to test your skills!"
Li Shaoyou wasted no more time on words. Standing dozens of yards away, he raised his right leg and kicked toward Ning Jiang.
BOOM!
The air trembled violently. A brilliant light erupted from his foot as it swept towards Ning Jiang.
Li Shaoyou was known as Little Divine Leg, and all of his cultivation power was focused in his legs. A single kick from him was enough to pulverize a mountain.
"You’ll have to do better than that."
Ning Jiang shook his head. Forming a sword-finger, he swiped through the air and instantly neutralized Li Shaoyou’s attack. Ning Jiang stood there, not even the hem of his clothes stirring.
’Not bad.’
Li Shaoyou’s face darkened. He realized Ning Jiang was a tough opponent, but he didn’t pay it too much mind.
In his eyes, Ning Jiang was just a rookie on the Hidden Dragon List, whereas he had been ranked for years. There was no way Ning Jiang could be his match.
Of course, this was because some of Ning Jiang’s greatest battles were not public knowledge.
For example, his fight with Ao Lie at the entrance to the Ancient Ruins was only known to those directly involved. Furthermore, few people knew about his battle against the three Kings in Nocturnal City.
If Li Shaoyou had known any of this, he would never have underestimated Ning Jiang.
"Divine Wind Leg!"
Li Shaoyou crouched slightly as whirlwinds rapidly coiled around his legs.
SWISH.
With a single movement, he vanished, reappearing in front of Ning Jiang in the next instant.
"Take this!"
Li Shaoyou’s right leg glowed brilliantly, emanating an incredibly sharp-edged aura as it swept viciously toward Ning Jiang’s head. A single kick like this could mow down an army of thousands.
’Too obvious.’
Ning Jiang’s expression remained unchanged. He had already positioned his right hand to block, having seen right through Li Shaoyou’s attack.
BANG.
Li Shaoyou’s kick slammed into Ning Jiang’s arm with a tremendous sound, yet the arm didn’t move an inch. Li Shaoyou was horrified. ’What incredible Physical Power is this?!’
"My turn."
After blocking the attack, Ning Jiang clenched his fist and threw a seemingly casual punch.
Thunder Dragon Fist!
This technique was one of his signature killing moves, its might no less than that of his Sword Suppressing Sun and Moon. Blinding Thunderbolt coalesced into a lifelike Thunder Dragon that surged forward with Ning Jiang’s ferocious punch. Li Shaoyou immediately felt an immense pressure.
Facing this punch, he was overcome with a sense of its irresistible power.
At this critical moment, Li Shaoyou let out a long roar, all the Power in his body converging in his legs. In a mere instant, he unleashed a hundred kicks at Ning Jiang.
Each kick was incredibly ferocious, like the swing of a battle-axe, and they seemed to fill the entire corridor.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Yet before Ning Jiang’s single punch, all his attacks were rendered useless. They were shattered by the fist, and he himself was sent flying back several dozen yards by its raw, tyrannical power.
"Ning Jiang, I’ll remember this."
Though unwilling to concede defeat, Li Shaoyou knew he was no match for Ning Jiang. His figure quickly retreated into the distance.
