Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 605: Pinnacle Showdown

  • Next Chapter

Under the night sky, two peerless figures stood facing each other from a distance.

One, with white hair and white robes, had an otherworldly aura, like that of an immortal. The other, in an ink-black robe, had the air of a fiend or a demon. They were two starkly different individuals, yet both left a deep impression at first glance.

“The moonlight is truly beautiful.”

A bright moon hung high in the night sky.

“As the bright moon rises over the sea, we share this moment, though worlds apart.”

Ning Jiang gazed at the bright moon, a smile gracing his face. It was a smile of joy, of loneliness, of relief—like a wanderer, away for many years, who had finally returned home.

On the eve of this great battle, when everyone else was fraught with tension, his thoughts turned to Ning Yu’an and Ye Chenyu.

‘Are they, at this very moment, looking at the same moon and thinking of me?’

‘Once this is all over, I’ll go back and see Sister An.’

Ning Jiang put those thoughts aside and focused on the man before him.

They were surrounded by powerful figures—the Flood Dragon King, the Vice Sect Leader of the Other Shore Divine Sect, the great Kings of the East Sea—nearly all had gathered. But at this moment, none of them were more important than the man standing before him.

The night wind rustled, causing their sleeves to flutter.

“You’ve become even more like a demon than you were a month ago.”

Ning Jiang’s tone was perfectly serene, like the gentle flow of a clear spring.

“Human or demon—does it matter? Today, there is no Human or Demon!” Xuanyuan Bi’an strode forward three steps. “There is only victory and defeat.”

“Let’s fight, Ning Jiang! With heaven and earth as our witness, we will settle this!”

Xuanyuan Bi’an’s aura surged, rising ceaselessly. In his eyes, there was only heaven and earth; the vast sea of people around them might as well have not existed.

For that sea of people was not worthy of witnessing his battle with Ning Jiang. Only heaven and earth were qualified.

BOOM!

The air shuddered as Xuanyuan Bi’an strode toward Ning Jiang.

“I won’t be holding back in this fight. I hope you make it worth my while!”

As Ning Jiang spoke, his eyes snapped open, and his entire aura changed in an instant. Before, he had been unassuming and tranquil; no one would have guessed there was anything special about him.

But now, his power was fully unleashed. He was like a raging ocean, churning up monstrous waves to destroy everything in their path.

The two men strode forward, closing the distance between them.

The atmosphere of the entire area changed in an instant.

The spectators all felt the air become suffocatingly heavy, a spiritual pressure so oppressive they could hardly breathe. It was a purely mental assault. The life forces of the two combatants flared, intensifying and expanding to their absolute limits.

“Such a powerful aura!”

Even the great Kings felt the pressure. As for the ordinary experts at the Earth Martial Realm Peak, they found that in the face of this aura, they couldn’t summon even a shred of the will to fight.

They were like mice before a cat, left with nothing but fear.

“Within the Earth Martial Realm, they have both reached the absolute pinnacle of power,” someone said, their voice trembling.

SWOOSH!

Xuanyuan Bi’an was the first to strike. His arm shot out, straight and fast, as he threw a punch at Ning Jiang. His entire fist had turned pitch-black.

In contrast, Ning Jiang’s fist blazed with dazzling Thunderbolt. When their fists collided, the air seemed to ripple out from them, sweeping in every direction.

“It really is the Dark Attribute.”

Someone cried out in alarm.

Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth are the most common attributes. Wind, Thunder, Light, and Dark are much rarer, with Dark Power being especially scarce. Xuanyuan Bi’an was clearly a cultivator of Dark Power.

Within his attacks, one could sense loneliness, gloom, deathly stillness, and withering decay…

“None of the nine attributes is inherently stronger or weaker than another. The crucial factor is the Martial Artist’s own strength. Still, a duel between Thunder Power and Dark Power is quite a rare sight.”

The attributes are not superior or inferior; only the people who wield them are.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

They began with the most straightforward exchange: a brutal, head-on clash of fists. It was a blood-pumping, visually stunning type of combat.

But those in the know understood that such a confrontation was a pure contest of Physical Power. The one with the weaker body would lose in an instant.

“To think Xuanyuan Bi’an’s Physical Power can actually match Ning Jiang’s.”

Gu Huaying was astonished.

Of the younger generation, Ning Jiang had the strongest physique she had ever seen; even members of the Flood Dragon Clan were far his inferior. It was no exaggeration to say that with his Physical Power alone, Ning Jiang could dominate the Earth Martial Realm without ever meeting his match.

Until now, she had never seen anyone who could physically contend with Ning Jiang. Xuanyuan Bi’an was the first.

“This Xuanyuan Bi’an is very strong.”

The Little Dragon Girl’s expression was grim as she gave her assessment.

At that moment, a great rumbling echoed from within Xuanyuan Bi’an’s body. It was the sound of his blood surging, as if mighty rivers flowed through his veins.

Furthermore, the power of his blood and qi shot straight into the sky like a column of beacon smoke.

Across from him, Ning Jiang’s own blood and qi radiated outwards. This energy had a golden hue, making him shine like a small sun, dazzling all who looked upon him.

BOOM!

With another clash, the air violently shuddered, and both men were forced back.

“Dark Sky Curtain.”

Xuanyuan Bi’an spat out three words. Endless Dark Power surged from his body, forming a canopy of darkness that instantly enveloped Ning Jiang.

“Break.”

Ning Jiang threw a punch. Rampant Thunder Power surged out, shattering the canopy and freeing him.

“Dark Chain.”

The shattered Dark Sky Curtain reformed, coalescing into black chains that slithered like snakes, attempting to bind Ning Jiang.

“Petty tricks.”

An immortal, indestructible golden light radiated from Ning Jiang. He was like a War God, impervious to the Myriad Techniques. He threw a punch, its immense power rippling through the void.

The chains shattered inch by inch before they could even reach him.

“Coffin of Darkness!”

Xuanyuan Bi’an once again spat out three words.

Instantly, Ning Jiang felt a tremendous force surge from all directions, pressing in on him like mountains, trying to pin him in place. At the same time, darkness rushed toward him, taking the shape of a coffin that sought to entomb him.

“Break!”

Ning Jiang let out a ferocious roar, stretching his entire body. His bones cracked and popped as immense Power erupted from every inch of his flesh.

At that moment, he was like a True Dragon, possessed of infinite power. Even if a mountain were to fall upon him, he would send it flying.

BANG.

With a loud crash, the Black Coffin shattered.

“Black Abyss.”

It was another deadly technique, giving Ning Jiang no time to breathe.

Xuanyuan Bi’an clapped his hands together, then pulled them apart. Instantly, a pitch-black Abyss ripped open between his palms and shot toward Ning Jiang.

The Power of this Black Abyss, once unleashed, was enough to instantly split ten great mountains in two.

“Thunder Dragon Fist.”

Ning Jiang’s expression remained unchanged as he threw an earth-shattering punch. A roaring Thunder Dragon, formed from pure Thunderbolt, collided with the Black Abyss. The Thunder Dragon collapsed and disintegrated, and the Black Abyss vanished along with it.

“Xuanyuan Bi’an, the warm-up is over. Show me your true strength.”

Ning Jiang drew his Thunder Dragon Sword. With the blade in hand, his entire aura grew even sharper, and it seemed as if countless motes of Sword Aura were darting through the air!
