Immortal Sword Master
Chapter 611: Myriad Swords Array Reappears
Since time immemorial, the Human Race and the Demon Race have been as incompatible as fire and water, locked in a feud of absolute hatred. But to Ning Jiang, whether one was of the Human Race or the Demon Race was unimportant. What mattered was their heart, their actions.
He had seen demons who were kind-hearted, who did everything in their power to stop the war and hoped for peace when the Demon Race invaded the Great Thousand Realms. He had also seen humans who were selfish and committed acts more vicious than any demon.
“In this world, there is no absolute human, nor any absolute demon. A demon can be kinder than a human, and a human can be crueler than a demon.”
Ning Jiang glanced at Xuanyuan Bi’an and said coolly, “Worrying about whether you are human or demon is just you tormenting yourself for no reason. Your bloodline is fundamentally unimportant. What truly matters is what is in your heart.”
These words struck Xuanyuan Bi’an like a sudden enlightenment. He was an intelligent man and naturally understood Ning Jiang’s meaning.
“My bloodline isn’t important. You’re right!” A look of understanding dawned in Xuanyuan Bi’an’s eyes. “Who I am is ultimately determined by my own heart.”
“Then, do you wish to become a demon, or a man?”
Ning Jiang’s eyes narrowed, a sharp glint slowly gathering within their depths.
“I don’t know.”
Xuanyuan Bi’an closed his eyes, giving no answer.
His parents had been hounded to their deaths by the people of the Great Thousand Realms. Linglong Saint Monarch had also been pressured by the other Saint Monarchs, forced to fight his way into the Demon Realm, his fate unknown. As for Linglong Saint Monarch’s other children, they had all died at the hands of the Human Race in the Great Thousand Realms.
Under these circumstances, he naturally held no goodwill toward the Human Race.
In fact, after hearing everything the Artifact Spirit had said, a fierce fire of hatred ignited in his heart. He wanted to be like a demon and slaughter everyone.
For Xuanyuan Bi’an, the choice between becoming a man or a demon was not one he could make easily.
“Whether to become a demon or a man… think it over carefully.”
Ning Jiang said, word by word, “If you choose to become a demon, I will kill you the next time we meet. If you choose to become a man, perhaps we can be friends. I have said my piece. Artifact Spirit, send me out.”
A black hole materialized in the space before him. Paying no mind to Xuanyuan Bi’an’s reaction, Ning Jiang stepped through and returned to the outside world.
The crowd of Martial Artists had not yet dispersed; they were all curiously discussing what might have happened inside the Linglong Tower.
“Why did only Ning Jiang come out?”
Everyone’s eyes quickly turned to Ning Jiang.
Within those many gazes, there was a shared sense of awe.
Having defeated Xuanyuan Bi’an, Ning Jiang had now ascended to the position of number one among the younger generation of the East Sea. It was an absolute status no one could challenge.
Even someone as powerful as Xuanyuan Bi’an, who had entered the Heaven-Reaching Realm, was no match for Ning Jiang. Across the entire East Sea, was there any other member of the younger generation who could rival him?
An opponent for Ning Jiang could likely only be found in the vast and boundless Celestial Domain.
‘With this boy’s talent, if he is allowed to live, none of us will ever know a moment’s peace. We must find a way to kill him! Otherwise, given time, he might even surpass the legendary Golden Cicada and Undying Celestial King!’
The Flood Dragon King was filled with shocked fury, his eyes as cold as ice.
Bai Wuxue and the others from the Other Shore shared his thoughts. Bai Wuxue’s eyes were frigid. ‘This boy’s potential might be even greater than Golden Cicada’s. I will not allow a second Golden Cicada to appear in this world!’
As their minds raced with different schemes, Ning Jiang’s gaze swept over them, as sharp as a blade.
Neither faction had any intention of lingering. With a cold snort, they prepared to depart.
Suddenly, Ning Jiang’s voice rang out.
“Chaos Alliance. Other Shore Divine Sect. Since you’re already here, what’s the rush to leave?”
His words shocked everyone present.
“What does he mean? Is Ning Jiang going to challenge both great powers?”
“A month ago, Ning Jiang defeated the Chaos Alliance single-handedly, but now the Other Shore Divine Sect is here too. Is he trying to provoke both of these behemoths?”
The crowd murmured in shock.
Everyone knew the Other Shore Divine Sect was even stronger than the Chaos Alliance. Could Ning Jiang possibly think he could fight so many Kings all by himself?
“Junior, did no one ever teach you to show respect to your elders? What is the meaning of this tone?”
Bai Wuxue’s gaze turned cold as he stared at Ning Jiang.
“Respect? Forget respect. I have only one thing to say today.” Ning Jiang took a step forward, his aura surging. “Release Celestial Treasure King and everyone you’ve captured from the Dragon God Celestial Palace. Otherwise, no one leaves here today!”
Although the Dragon God Celestial Palace had been destroyed, many of its members had been captured and imprisoned.
Now, Ning Jiang was demanding that these two great powers release them all.
“A mere junior with an awfully big mouth. Do you really think you alone can contend with all of us Kings?” Bai Wuxue sneered.
“I alone can fight an army of thousands!”
Ning Jiang’s voice was like thunder, rolling across the void.
“You’re not afraid of biting your tongue with such boasts? It seems we’ll have to teach you a lesson today and knock some sense into you.”
Killing intent flashed in Bai Wuxue’s eyes, and the many Kings of the Other Shore with him glared menacingly.
‘This is the perfect chance to kill him.’ At this thought, the Flood Dragon King also stepped forward and declared righteously, “Since you’re seeking death, we will oblige you.”
“A bunch of worthless rabble. I’ll let you witness what I’m truly capable of.”
Ning Jiang’s gaze was imperious, his domineering aura boundless.
SWISH SWISH SWISH SWISH…
Streaks of azure sword light shot out, thirty-six in all, and hovered in the air. It was the Thirty-Six Heavenly Gang Sword Formation.
“Is this Sword Array all you’re relying on? It’s indeed impressive, but it’s not enough to deal with us.”
A trace of disdain appeared in Bai Wuxue’s eyes. This time, the Other Shore had brought over forty Kings. Adding the thirty-plus Kings from the Chaos Alliance, the two powers combined had around eighty Kings.
Furthermore, they had also brought hundreds of subordinates, all of them experts at the Heaven-Reaching Realm.
A lineup like this was more than enough to face Ning Jiang without fear.
“Regarding this Sword Array, you have only seen the tip of the iceberg,” Ning Jiang sneered. “Myriad Swords Array, arise!”
As his voice fell.
Suddenly, an incomparably sharp aura erupted from below, soaring into the sky. All eyes turned in astonishment toward the sea, from which the ringing cries of swords began to echo.
Immediately, the sound of tearing air filled their ears as Spirit Swords shot out from the sea like lightning, assembling around Ning Jiang.
Five hundred swords, a thousand, two thousand…
The Spirit Swords appeared in an endless stream until, finally, a full three thousand—no more, no less—stood poised in the void. Their resonant hums, accompanied by an overwhelming, sharp aura, enveloped the entire area.
The Myriad Swords Array. Ning Jiang had deployed this Sword Array once before, back when he was still in the Six Eastern Provinces, to deal with the Top Grade Sect, the Evil Spirit Sect.
However, at that time, he had only used five hundred swords, and their quality was not high—they were merely Middle Grade Spirit Swords.
But now, he commanded a full three thousand Upper Grade Spiritual Swords!
At that moment, every single person was utterly stunned.
