Chapter 1769: Chapter 1068: Blood Pond, Blood Gate_2

Sui Yi walked closer and, at the entrance of the Blood Pond, found that the huge door was made entirely of blood qi. But the blood qi was too thick, rich enough to condense into substance, swirling and shifting as if it were human faces, or dragon heads with phoenix tails, or all kinds of Devils and Exotic Beasts, making people afraid to look too closely…

“Hey, kid, you crazy or what! Don’t stare at the Blood Gate! It’ll mess with your mind!”

Right in front of Sui Yi, a man was slapped awake by his companion beside him, only then snapping out of that bewitched expression.

“I… I don’t know, I just had a nightmare, saw someone trying to kill me…”

He had almost drawn his sword to kill the brothers right beside him.

Too terrifying.

The group all felt a lingering dread.

Sui Yi glanced at that man, then her gaze fell on the Blood Gate. Even without using Magnetic Sensation, she sensed the terrifying power and will inside that Blood Gate.

Beyond Heavenly Venerate.

Maybe already comparable to those Primordial Spirit Level beings of back then…

Sui Yi was inwardly shocked, and her curiosity toward the Blood Refining Stele at the core of the Outer Domain Battlefield grew even stronger.

Maybe only after passing through that door could one know what the Blood Pond really looked like.

There were many people both ahead and behind.

When it was Sui Yi’s turn, the registrar glanced at the Cloud Ascendant Level aura floating around Sui Yi’s body, “Pretty boy, what’s your name?”

In truth Sui Yi didn’t have Yi Duojun’s kind of stunning looks; he was just clean and neat, features proper enough, but his skin was pale, and at first glance he really did look like a pretty boy.

Pretty boy Sui Yi wasn’t annoyed, just said blandly: “Sacrificial Wine.”

Among rituals there’s a form called Sacrificial Wine, also a kind of Ritual Master.

Sui Yi’s mind turned and he picked that name. The registrar didn’t care, wrote it down, then counted the heads, “We’ve got about enough. Baldie, take this batch over.”

Beside him a burly bald man lazily stood up, his gleaming head bright like a bulb. He patted the dust off his clothes, swept his eyes over the hundred people before him, then waved and shouted: “You rookie brats, follow grandpa! If you dawdle and make us miss the Shichen Chinese Time at the East Gate entrance, I’ll flay your hides!”

He really wasn’t polite. Some people were full of anger, but were tugged back by companions, because they’d seen the spot where that man had just been sitting. Below was an imprint, and the ground here was a huge slab of Hard Wedge Stone. Though this stone wasn’t as rare and powerful as Heaven Devouring Stone, it was second only to it. For that man to sit cross-legged and cultivate until he’d left a sunken imprint showed he’d already cultivated there who knows how many times, how long, for the overflowing aura to carve such a mark into the ground.

That meant his cultivation level was at least Cloud Ascendant peak.

How could he be comparable to people like them, who had only just stepped into Cloud Ascendant.

Baldie couldn’t be bothered to pay them any mind, and led the crowd to the Blood Gate entrance.

Sui Yi, however, sensed that there seemed to be more than one Gate here; this was the East Gate, so maybe there were also East, West, South, and North.

“Stay close, follow my bloody footprints. Don’t get lost on the blood road, or we won’t even be able to find your corpses when you die.”

Baldie said, and when he reached the door, it was interesting—there was a young girl with a Wanzi bun sitting cross-legged on the ground. Piled beside her were lots of materials. Her palms flew, and those materials turned into one lantern after another. Seeing Baldie come over, she didn’t even lift her head, “Grab one and go, and don’t you dawdle.”

Baldie nodded and bowed: “Lantern Sister says so, I’ll be off right away. Aiyo, hard work, Lantern Sister, you…”

The Lantern Girl lifted her eyes and swept a glance over him, her gaze cold. Baldie shivered instantly, sheepishly picked up a lantern, dripped his own blood on it, lit the flame, and the lantern immediately shone.

Red light.

This blood-red lantern made everyone’s pores tighten. They didn’t dare say another word.

But it was strange too—once that red lantern’s light flared up, the dense blood qi of the Blood Gate automatically dispersed, revealing a hole.

“Keep up!!”

Everyone followed. As soon as they stepped in, they all shuddered. It was too cold, a kind of cold that chilled the soul. And ahead there was only a single path. As the little road appeared within the light opened by Baldie’s red lantern, he walked slowly, the crowd followed slowly, the speed so slow it made their hearts grow uneasy.

Finally someone couldn’t stand it, shivering: “Hey, Bald Lord, how much longer is this gonna take? We’re gonna freeze to death, it’s so damn cold.”

They rubbed their arms desperately, yet there was no frost on their sleeves, but their faces were deathly pale, looking frail and frozen to the extreme.

“Quit whining! Can’t even handle this bit of road, your souls are pathetic. You lot won’t last a month before you croak! But damn it, this blood road’s getting nastier and nastier…”

Baldie cursed under his breath.

The crowd muttered more and more as well.

Sui Yi was among the few who stayed quiet. Walking along the road, as she went, she suddenly heard someone ahead yell: “What the hell! Who touched me!”

“Bullshit, who touched you!”

“Whose hand is this!”

The youth who’d been touched scowled, and suddenly yanked out a white, delicate, and dainty hand. The people before and behind were startled—damn, one look and you could tell this hand wasn’t theirs.

It was a woman’s.

“Holy shit! A Female Ghost!”

Sui Yi was right behind. Seeing this, her brows twitched, a bit surprised and a bit amused.

This hand wasn’t some Female Ghost. That hand was…

Suddenly, the hand moved, shockingly fast and vicious. It tore free of the young man’s grip—smack!

A slap landed straight across his face, and with it came an angry scolding: “You dogshit! Why are you grabbing my hand! Keep your paths away from ours!”

Eh?

So there was a parallel route?

Could it be that people from some other South or North Gate had opened a path right beside theirs?
