Incubus Lord: Lust Harem System
Chapter 314: The Warning
Chapter 314: Chapter 314: The Warning
Damon sat in the dugout, his eyes still fixed on the spot where Kael had disappeared.
The silence around him felt heavy. Ariel’s hand found his shoulder. Mio and Mia pressed against his arms. Their warmth grounded him, but his mind was elsewhere.
Then the Chaos Devourer vibrated.
Not in his spatial inventory. Not physically.
It vibrated in his soul.
A pulse of ancient energy rippled through his spiritual sea, and a voice cut through his thoughts.
Sharp. Female. Ancient.
’Master.’
Damon’s breath caught.
The voice was cold, sharp as a blade’s edge, and carried the weight of eons.
"That boy carries the scent of the Void Abyss. Do not let his blade nick your flesh."
Damon’s eyes narrowed. He focused on the connection with the sword, feeling its ego pulse like a second heartbeat inside his own.
’Explain.’ he thought back.
The sword’s ego hummed, a sound like grinding stone.
’The Entropic Void Bloodline. A cursed legacy from beyond the Mortal Heaven. It feeds on the decay of living worlds.’
Damon’s jaw tightened.
’Where did it come from?’
’The Void Abyss. A place between realms. A wound in reality itself. Those who carry this bloodline are not born. They are chosen. By the Abyss. For the Abyss.’
The sword’s voice grew darker.
’They consume worlds. Slowly. Quietly. Like rot spreading through fruit. They do not fight to win. They fight to feed. Every wound they inflict spreads the decay. Every drop of blood they spill becomes their meal.’
Damon’s eyes drifted to the arena floor where the Stone Heart disciples had fallen.
Their cultivation was still rotting.
Their bodies were still leaking.
And Kael had barely touched them.
’If he cuts you,’ the sword continued, ’the decay will enter your channels. It will feed on your yang qi. It will spread through your dantian. Even your Incubus Lord bloodline will struggle to purge it.’
Damon’s smirk cut through his concentration.
’Perfect.’
The sword’s ego paused.
’Master?’
’You said it feeds on decay. On worlds that are already dying.’
’Yes.’
’Then what happens when it meets something that doesn’t decay?’
Silence.
’The Chaos Devourer is not of this world,’ Damon continued.
’It predates creation itself. It devours everything. Space. Time. Reality. Even the Void.’
The sword’s ego hummed again, but this time there was something different in its tone.
Interest.
’You wish to test the Chaos Edge Technique against him.’
Damon’s smile widened.
’I want to see if his decay can rot something that has never lived. I want to see if the Abyss can consume the Void.’
He cracked his neck.
’And I want to see his face when he realizes he’s not the predator.’
The sword’s ego fell silent.
But Damon felt its approval.
Ariel’s fingers dug into his shoulder.
"You’re doing that thing again," she said softly.
Damon turned to her. "What thing?"
"That thing where you smile like you’re planning something dangerous."
Mio leaned her head against his arm.
"I know that smile. It means someone’s about to get wrecked."
Mia pressed closer from the other side.
"It’s the same smile you had before you killed Jack."
Damon let out a low chuckle.
"Kael’s not like Jack," he said.
"He’s something else entirely."
Ariel’s hands moved from his shoulders to his neck, working the tension out of his muscles.
"Should we be worried?"
Damon’s eyes drifted back to the arena.
"No," he said. "I’ve got it handled."
The lie tasted bitter on his tongue.
But he needed them focused. He needed them sharp. He couldn’t have them worrying about a threat they couldn’t face.
Not yet.
The arena arrays lit up.
Golden light and purple smoke swirled across the projection surface, forming the next match announcement.
Match 8: Golden Lion Sect vs. Thousand Poison Pavilion
The crowd stirred back to life, eager for the next spectacle.
Damon watched as the two teams took their positions.
The Golden Lion Sect was a classic powerhouse. Seven cultivators, all wearing bright gold armor, their auras blazing like miniature suns. Their captain carried a massive broadsword, its edge glowing with condensed light qi.
The Thousand Poison Pavilion was their opposite.
Dark robes. Hooded faces.
Weapons coated in viscous, shimmering liquid.
Their captain held a curved dagger, its blade dripping with something that sizzled when it hit the stone floor.
Grand Marshal Vane struck the gong.
The match began.
The Golden Lion captain charged forward, his broadsword swinging in a wide arc that sent a crescent of light screaming across the arena.
The Thousand Poison captain dodged, rolling through the blast, and threw a handful of powder into the air.
The powder spread like a plague.
The Golden Lion disciples coughed, their armor tarnishing, their cultivation flickering.
The Thousand Poison disciples moved in.
Daggers flashed. Poison coated wounds. Golden blood sprayed across the stone.
It was ugly.
It was brutal.
And it was exactly what Damon needed to see.
He watched every move. Every poison application. Every counter the Golden Lions tried to mount.
He cataloged it all.
The Thousand Poison Pavilion fought like assassins, not warriors. They didn’t engage in direct combat. They poisoned the air, the ground, the weapons. They let their enemies weaken before striking.
Smart.
But limited.
If Damon’s group faced them, it would be over in seconds.
The match dragged on for an hour.
The Golden Lions lost three members before their captain finally broke through the poison cloud and bisected the Thousand Poison captain.
The remaining Thousand Poison disciples yielded.
Golden Lion Sect advanced to the Top 16.
The crowd cheered.
Damon barely heard them.
His mind was still on Kael.
On the Void Abyss.
On the Entropic Void Bloodline.
On the perfect test for his Chaos Edge Technique.
He smiled.
Ariel’s hands tightened on his shoulders.
"Damon."
"Yeah?"
"Whatever you’re planning, just promise me you’ll come back."
Damon reached up and covered her hand with his.
"I always do."
Mio and Mia pressed closer, their warmth spreading through his arms.
He let them comfort him.
He let them believe everything was fine.
Because soon, it would be.
One way or another.
