Chapter 318: Chapter 318: The Bloody Message

The sixth Earth Fang disciple fell with a wet gurgle, Kai’s clawed hand buried in his throat.

Kai ripped his hand free, the sound of tearing flesh and snapping sinew echoing across the silent arena.

The body crumpled to the blood-slicked stone, a puppet with its strings cut.

Seven down. Zero wins. The Earth Fang Sect was eliminated, their disciples nothing more than cooling corpses.

But Kai wasn’t done.

His eyes, burning with unholy light, scanned the remaining sects, searching for his next prey. The slaughter had only just begun.

He turned, his eyes locking onto the Earth Fang captain, a grizzled warrior named Thorne Ironhide who had watched his entire sect fall apart in minutes.

Thorne stood at the edge of the barrier, his fists clenched, tears streaming down his face.

"You monster," Thorne spat, his voice cracking. "You absolute monster."

Kai tilted his head, a grotesque smile spreading across his blood-stained lips.

"Monster?" Kai repeated, the word rolling off his tongue like honey. "No, no, no. I’m something far worse."

Kai’s arm melted.

The demonic grafts shifted, the flesh bubbling and reforming, transforming into a long, jagged blade of molten demonic steel that pulsed with a sickly red light.

He raised the blade-arm, the molten demonic steel dripping with gore, pointing it directly at Thorne.

The sickly red light pulsed along the jagged edge, casting a hellish glow across the arena floor.

"I’m your end."

Thorne charged.

He was brave. He was loyal.

He was everything a sect captain should be.

His fists blazed with Earth Qi, his feet pounding against the stone as he screamed a battle cry that died in his throat.

And he died in two seconds.

Kai’s blade-arm lashed out, a blur of crimson steel, carving through Thorne’s Qi shield like paper.

The blade punched through his chest, erupting from his back in a shower of blood and bone fragments.

Thorne’s scream never came. His body simply went limp, impaled on the demonic blade, his eyes already glassy and empty.

Kai’s molten blade-arm punched through Thorne’s chest, the metal sizzling as it passed through flesh and bone.

Thorne gasped, his eyes wide, his hands reaching out, trying to grab Kai, trying to hold on.

Kai lifted him off the ground, impaled on the blade-arm, and held him up like a trophy.

The crowd was silent.

Kai turned, slowly, deliberately, making sure every single spectator saw the dying man on his arm.

Then he threw.

Thorne’s body sailed across the arena, crashing into the barrier, sliding down to the floor in a heap.

Dead before he hit the ground.

The Earth Fang Sect was finished.

Grand Marshal Vane descended from his floating position, landing on the arena floor with a heavy thump of boots on stone.

His footsteps echoed across the stone.

Vane’s halberd materialized in his hand, the blade pressing against Kai’s throat, stopping him mid-laugh.

Kai froze.

"Crimson Eclipse advances," Vane said, his voice flat, emotionless, carrying the weight of absolute authority. "Disciple Kai, one more unauthorized strike after an opponent yields and I will sever your head on this platform."

Kai’s smile didn’t waver.

He just stared at Vane, his eyes empty, his demonic grafts still pulsing.

"I understand, Grand Marshal," Kai said, his voice dripping with mock respect.

"I will behave."

Vane held the halberd there for a long moment, his cold eyes searching Kai’s face.

Then he withdrew, stepping back, his halberd vanishing into his storage ring.

"The match is concluded," Vane announced, his voice echoing through the arena.

"Crimson Eclipse Sect advances to the Top 16. Next match will be announced after the intermission."

The crowd began to stir, whispers spreading through the stands like wildfire.

But Kai didn’t leave.

He stood in the center of the arena, surrounded by the blood of seven dead men, and he turned.

He turned toward the Azure Dragon dugout.

Toward Damon.

Kai raised his hand, his claws still dripping with crimson, and he licked them clean.

Slowly. Deliberately.

His tongue traced each claw with unhurried precision, savoring every crimson drop as if it were fine wine.

His eyes, cold and empty, never left Damon’s.

Then he raised his bloodied hand and pointed.

First at Ariel, the Sea Princess.

Then at Mio, the archer.

Then at Mia, the shadow.

Each gesture a promise of death.

His lips moved, forming words that carried across the silent arena through spiritual transmission, a whisper that only Damon and his women could hear.

"You’re watching them die next."

The words hit like a physical blow.

Mio’s hand snapped to her bow, the Voidpiercer materializing in her grip, a void arrow already nocked, her aura flaring with murderous intent.

"I’ll kill him," she snarled, her voice raw. "I’ll kill him right now."

Seraphina’s hand moved to her Tempest Azure Blade, the blade sliding an inch out of its sheath, wind and lightning crackling around her fingers.

"Let me end this," she said, her voice cold, controlled, but sharp.

Flare’s flames sparked around her fists, her Phoenix Bloodline roaring to life, her eyes glowing with orange fire.

"I’ll burn him to ash," she growled. "I’ll—"

"Stop."

Damon’s voice cut through the chaos like a blade through silk.

He held his hand up, palm facing them, his expression calm, his golden eyes fixed on Kai’s retreating form.

The women froze.

Mio’s arrow wavered, then dissipated.

Seraphina’s blade slid back into its sheath.

Flare’s flames died down, her fists still clenched, her body trembling with barely contained rage.

Damon didn’t move.

He just watched.

Watched as Kai turned, his laughter echoing through the arena, his demonic grafts still pulsing with stolen life.

Watched as Kai walked back to the Crimson Eclipse dugout, his disciples parting before him like frightened animals.

Watched as Kai took his seat, his eyes still locked on Damon, a smirk on his blood-stained lips.

The crowd was silent.

The entire arena was silent.

And in that silence, Damon’s voice was a whisper, low and cold, carrying only to the women around him.

"Tomorrow."

Damon’s golden eyes glowed with icy, sovereign malice.

"I will dismantle him piece by piece."
