Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Blades of the Azure Dragon

Grand Marshal Vane’s voice cut through the arena’s restless energy.

"Match Eleven. Sky Sword Manor versus Blazing Sun Valley."

The crowd stirred with interest.

Two sword sects.

Direct confrontation.

Damon leaned forward in the dugout, his golden eyes fixed on the arena floor.

Selene sat to his left, her posture rigid, her frosty gaze locked on the entrance tunnels.

Seraphina sat to his right, her emerald eyes sharp, her hand resting on the Tempest Azure Blade at her hip.

Ariel, Mio, Mia, Flare, Alena, and Lumina filled the remaining seats, their attention split between the match and the tunnels where the Hounds of Eclipse had vanished.

But for now, Damon focused on the swords.

Sky Sword Manor entered first.

Seven cultivators, each carrying a standard longsword, their robes pristine white with silver trim.

They moved in perfect synchronization, their steps measured, their breathing controlled.

Orthodox sword masters.

The kind who spent decades mastering the basics before touching a single technique.

Their leader, a man in his late twenties with sharp features and calm eyes, raised his blade. The other six followed.

Sword Qi bloomed around them.

But it wasn’t wild or chaotic.

It was precise.

Geometric.

Lines of sharp energy formed in the air, intersecting at perfect angles, creating a lattice of cutting force that surrounded the seven fighters like a living cage.

Damon’s Incubus Celestial Eyes recorded every detail.

’Interesting. They’re not just projecting sword Qi outward. They’re weaving it into formations. Defensive and offensive at the same time.’

The Blazing Sun Valley disciples stepped onto the arena floor.

Seven more cultivators, their robes orange and gold, their blades already glowing with solar fire.

Heat radiated from them in waves, distorting the air around their bodies.

Their leader, a stocky man with a scarred face and blazing eyes, grinned.

"Sky Sword Manor. I’ve heard your swords are sharp. Let’s see how they handle fire."

He drew his blade.

Flame erupted along the steel, coating it in a layer of white-hot energy.

The other six followed suit.

The temperature in the arena rose by several degrees.

Grand Marshal Vane raised his hand.

"Begin."

The Blazing Sun disciples charged first.

They moved aggressively, their fire-coated blades swinging in wide arcs, trying to overwhelm the Sky Sword formation with raw heat and pressure.

But the Sky Sword masters didn’t flinch.

Their leader stepped forward, and the geometric lattice shifted.

Lines of sword Qi rotated, angled, and intercepted the incoming flames.

Steel met steel.

Fire met sharp energy.

The first exchange was a blur of sparks and heat.

Damon watched closely, his eyes tracking every movement, every technique, every flaw.

Selene’s voice cut through the noise.

"Relying too much on the fire element."

Damon turned slightly, his golden eyes meeting her frosty gaze.

"They’re coating their blades in solar fire, but their sword intent is hollow. They’re using the element to compensate for weak fundamentals."

Selene’s voice was cold, analytical.

"One true Sword Aura strike would shatter all seven of them."

Seraphina nodded beside her, her emerald eyes fixed on the arena.

"She’s right. Look at their footwork. They’re overextending on every swing. Their balance is compromised."

Damon observed the Blazing Sun disciples more closely.

Seraphina was correct.

Each swing was powerful, but it left the user exposed for a full second afterward. A skilled swordsman would exploit that gap.

The Sky Sword masters did exactly that.

The geometric lattice shifted again, and three lines of sword Qi shot forward, targeting the exposed Blazing Sun disciples mid-swing.

Two of them took hits to their shoulders and thighs.

They stumbled, their flames flickering.

Seraphina’s hand drifted to her Tempest Azure Blade, her fingers tracing the hilt.

"I could cut through their fire arcs in a single stroke. The Tempest Azure Blade’s wind affinity would disperse the flames before they even reached me."

Damon smiled slightly.

"Confident?"

Seraphina met his gaze, her emerald eyes steady.

"Not confident. Certain."

The match continued.

The Blazing Sun disciples regrouped, their flames intensifying. They formed a tighter formation, their fire arcs overlapping to create a wall of heat.

But the Sky Sword masters adapted.

Their leader raised his blade, and the geometric lattice compressed.

Instead of spreading out, the sword Qi condensed into a single, razor-thin line.

It shot forward with a piercing whistle, the razor-thin line of condensed sword Qi slicing through the air like a silver thread of death.

It cut through the Blazing Sun’s roaring fire wall as if the flames were mere illusion, the heat parting harmlessly around the concentrated energy.

It struck the Blazing Sun leader’s blade dead center.

The steel shattered into a dozen glittering fragments that rained down around his feet like metallic tears.

The fire died instantly, extinguished by the sheer force of the Sky Sword’s technique.

The leader stared at his broken sword, his face pale as ash, his hands trembling with shock.

The Sky Sword masters advanced in perfect unison, their blades angled for the next strike.

Three more exchanges followed, swift and decisive.

Three more Blazing Sun disciples found their weapons knocked from their hands, their flames sputtering out as they knelt in defeat.

The match ended with a clean 7-3 victory for Sky Sword Manor.

The crowd erupted into thunderous applause, the sound echoing off the ancient stone walls of the arena.

Grand Marshal Vane’s voice boomed through the arena, cutting through the noise.

"Sky Sword Manor advances to the Top 16!"

The Sky Sword leader bowed to the crowd, his expression calm, his blade sheathed.

Damon watched him leave the arena, his golden eyes thoughtful.

’Orthodox sword masters. Clean technique. Strong fundamentals. But no Sword Intent. No Sword Aura.’

He turned to Selene.

"What do you think?"

Selene’s frosty gaze remained fixed on the arena floor.

"They’re disciplined. Well-trained. But they lack the spark. They’ve mastered the form, but not the essence."

Damon nodded.

"And the Blazing Sun?"

Selene’s lips curled into a faint, cold smile.

"Amateurs who thought fire could replace skill."

Seraphina stood, her hand still resting on her blade.

"The tournament is getting more interesting. But none of them have what we have."

Damon looked at her.

"And what’s that?"

Seraphina met his gaze, her emerald eyes burning with quiet intensity.

"Sword Aura. And the will to use it."

Damon smiled.

’She’s not wrong.’

He turned back to the arena, his mind already calculating the next match, the next opponent, the next step toward victory.

The tournament continued.

And Damon Arcknight was ready for whatever came next.
