Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Supernova Dive

The arena fell silent.

Fania stood alone in the center of the broken battlefield, her chest heaving, her hands trembling. Blood dripped from her nose and stained her crimson robes. Her flames had dimmed to almost nothing.

Shen faced her from across the cracked stone.

The Black Tortoise captain’s shell was fractured, but he was still standing. His Qi was low, but he had enough left for one more strike.

Fania knew it.

Damon saw it in her eyes.

She was out of options.

The crowd held its breath. The Vermilion Bird disciples in the medical bay watched with desperate hope. The Black Tortoise sect members chanted for victory.

Fania closed her eyes.

And then she did something reckless.

She reached deep into her dantian, past the empty chambers, past the scorched meridians, into the very core of her being where the last ember of her Vermilion Bird bloodline flickered.

She grabbed it.

And she pulled.

Fire erupted from her body.

Not the controlled flames of a disciplined cultivator. This was raw, primal, the desperate blaze of a dying star refusing to go dark. Her robes ignited. Her hair lifted in a corona of golden light. Her skin glowed red from within.

The crowd gasped.

Damon’s eyes narrowed.

’She’s burning her foundation,’ he realized. ’She’s sacrificing her future for this one moment.’

Fania’s voice cut through the roar of her own flames, raw and defiant.

"VERMILION BIRD... SUPERNOVA DIVE!"

She launched herself upward.

A pillar of fire shot into the sky, carrying her higher and higher until she was nothing but a speck of light against the clouds. The arena tilted upward, every face following her ascent.

Shen’s eyes widened. He slammed his hands together, pouring every last drop of his Qi into the shell. The blue-black dome thickened, pulsed, hardened into a crystalline barrier.

"BRACE!" he shouted.

His disciples obeyed.

Fania stopped rising.

For one breath, she hung in the air, a burning star suspended against the heavens.

Then she dove.

She fell like a meteor, like a sun collapsing into itself, like the wrath of a god made flesh.

The air screamed around her. The stone below her cracked from the pressure alone.

Her flames compressed into a single point of blinding white light at her center.

The arena went silent.

No sound existed except the roar of her descent.

Damon watched.

His Incubus Celestial Eyes tracked every detail. The way her Qi spiraled around her body. The way her meridians fractured under the strain. The way her bloodline screamed in protest.

’She’ll destroy herself,’ he thought.

But he didn’t look away.

Fania hit the dome.

The impact was cataclysmic.

A shockwave of fire and force exploded outward, shattering the barrier around the arena, sending spectators flying backward. The Black Tortoise shell buckled, cracked, splintered under the sheer weight of her descent.

Shen screamed.

His Qi broke.

The dome shattered into a thousand shards of blue-black light.

Fania’s fire punched through the center, a lance of pure destruction that slammed into the stone floor and detonated.

The arena shook violently, stone groaning under the cataclysmic impact.

Dust and smoke choked the air, blinding the stunned crowd.

A silence fell, the weight of destruction pressing down on every chest.

Grand Marshal Vane raised his hand, his voice cutting through the haze.

"MATCH OVER!"

The dust settled, revealing a crater where the combatants lay unmoving, their bodies broken.

Fania lay in the center of a crater, her robes burned to ash, her body smoking, her eyes half-lidded and unfocused.

Her chest rose and fell in shallow, ragged breaths.

Shen lay twenty feet away, unconscious, his body thrown out of bounds by the blast.

Grand Marshal Vane’s voice echoed across the arena.

"VERMILION BIRD SECT ADVANCES! SEVEN TO SIX!"

The Vermilion Bird side erupted in cheers.

But Fania didn’t move.

Medical teams rushed onto the stone, their hands glowing with healing Qi. They lifted her onto a stretcher, their faces grim as they assessed her injuries.

Damon watched from the Azure Dragon dugout.

His golden eyes tracked every movement of the medics, every flicker of their healing light, every grim shake of their heads.

’Her meridians are shredded,’ he thought, golden eyes narrowing as the medics’ healing light flickered and dimmed against wounds too deep to easily mend.

’Her dantian is cracked. She won’t recover in time for the Semifinals.’

Ariel drifted to his side, her dark blue hair catching the dusty arena light, her soft voice barely above a whisper.

"She’s badly hurt. I can feel it from here — her Qi is completely scattered."

Damon gave a single, measured nod, his gaze never leaving the stretcher.

"She burned everything she had. Down to the last ember."

Mio crossed her arms over her chest, her deep purple ponytail swaying as she turned, her bright eyes hardening as the medics carried Fania past the dugout entrance. "Will she even recover from something like that?"

Damon’s golden eyes tracked Fania’s unconscious form — the ashen skin, the hollow rise and fall of her chest, the faint wisps of smoke still curling from her ruined robes.

"Not in three days," he said quietly. "Not even close."

Flare stepped forward from beside him, her fiery red hair catching the light like a low-burning torch. Her voice was tight, clipped, stripped of its usual arrogance.

"She used a forbidden technique. The Supernova Dive doesn’t just burn Qi — it burns the bloodline itself to fuel the strike. The body becomes the fuel." She paused, jaw set.

"If she survives, her cultivation foundation may never fully recover. Some who attempt it never cultivate again."

A heavy silence settled over the group.

Damon said nothing for a long moment, watching until the stretcher disappeared behind the treatment tent’s curtain.

Then, quietly, he spoke.

"She won."

Flare turned her sharp orange eyes toward him.

"At what cost?"

Damon finally looked away from the tent, his expression calm and unreadable, the weight behind his golden gaze telling a different story entirely.

"The cost of her future."

He turned and walked toward the dugout exit without another word, his black robes settling around him with each measured step, his voice carrying back to the group — low, steady, and final.

"Let’s go. We have a Semifinal to prepare for."

Ariel, Mio, Mia, Seraphina, Flare, Alena, and Selene followed.

Behind them, the medical team carried Fania into the treatment tent, her body wracked with severe internal burns.

The Vermilion Bird Sect had won.

But the price was already paid.

Damon didn’t look back.

The tournament was far from over.
