Big Chapter )

Far away somewhere on the continent at the foot of the mountain in the human domain.

Sword Venerable Qingyun stood quietly at the foot of the seemingly mortal mountain. To the eyes of ordinary people, this was just a lush, green peak with a big stone path. But to Qingyun’s eyes, which seems pierce into the depths, this mountain was currently shrouded in an impenetrable, swirling mist of blue light and residual Dao runes same as from the heavenly phenomenon.

He slowly raised his right hand. His long, slender fingers, which had severed the heads of countless demonic cultivators, were now glowing with a faint, ethereal sword light. He was about to gently touch the mountain’s concealing barrier to part the mists and meet the that man as this was the whole purpose of his trip.

Just as his fingertips were an inch away from the invisible barrier—

“ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!”

suddenly a earth shattering roar exploded from the sky above!

The sound was just too loud, it carried a terrifying, primal suppression. The clouds for thousands of miles were instantly blown apart, and the very space around the mountain violently rippled like water. The surrounding trees groaned, their leaves turning yellow and falling in an instant under the sheer pressure of this aura.

Qingyun’s hand paused. He didn’t look up, but a faint, helpless sigh escaped his lips. “You old lizard, you really never know how to make an entrance.”

High above, the sky had turned a deep black in color. A colossal, unimaginably massive creature was tearing through the void.

Its body was over three thousand feet long, covered in scales the size of shields that flashed with blinding light. Two massive horns, like ancient divine branches, protruded from its head, and its vertical pupils burned with tyrannical, sun like flames. Just its physical presence caused the heaven and earth spiritual energy to scream in terror.

With a flash of golden light, the massive dragon rapidly shrank. In a few breaths, it landed heavily on the ground a hundred meters away from Qingyun, transforming into the tall, muscular, skinned man with golden horns on his forehead.

It was none other Patriarch Ao Huang of the True Dragon Clan.

Ao Huang crossed his arms, his eyes glared at Qingyun. “Old man Qingyun! Why are you lurking around this seemingly mortal mountain? Don’t tell me your Heavenly Origin Sword Sect has fallen so low that you are coveting a mortal mountain? Or did your sect’s treasury run dry, and you came to beg for spiritual stones?”

Qingyun slowly retracted his hand, turning around to face the Ao Huang. His expression was as calm as a still lake, not a single ripple of anger appeared in his eyes.

“Ao Huang,” Qingyun said, his voice was gentle but it carried an undeniable sharpness. “This is my human domain. What I do here is none of your business. If you have nothing better to do, then go back to your muddy swamp and sleep for another few centuries. Don’t disturb my peace.”

“None of my business?!” Ao Huang let out a loud mocking laugh. “Hah! The Heavens showered golden lotuses right in this continent! The fluctuations of it’s still lingering here! You think I, Ao Huang, would just watch you old turtle monopolize this heaven defying genius? I am here to recruit him to my True Dragon Clan! With his talent, he deserves to sit in my ancestral hall, not in your dusty, boring sword pavilion!”

“Recruit him?” Qingyun’s eyes flashed with a cold light. “A dragon cannot comprehend the true meaning of the sword. His Dao must be as aggresive and sharper as the sword, not as rigid and arrogant as your beastly bloodline. You would only ruin his future.”

“Ruin his future? Beastly Bloodline? You arrogant old human!” Ao Huang’s temper instantly flared. The golden horns on his forehead glowed fiercely. “You sword cultivators are all the same, so narrow minded and stubborn! Today, I will teach you what true power is!”

“Words are useless with a beast,” Qingyun replied calmly, his white robes fluttered slightly even though there was no wind. “If you want to fight, then come.”

“You are asking for it!”

Ao Huang roared, his patience snapping completely. He didn’t use any weapons, his body was the ultimate divine artifact.

BOOOM!

The ground beneath Ao Huang’s feet instantly collapsed into a massive crater. His figure vanished, reappearing directly in front of Qingyun in a fraction of a second. His right hand had transformed into a massive, golden dragon claw, tearing through the air with five streaks of blinding, golden light.

This was the ultimate physical strike of the True Dragon Clan, the Primordial Dragon Heaven Shattering Claw. The space around his claws literally shattered into black fragments, and the sheer wind pressure accompayning it turned the air into razor sharp blades.

Qingyun’s eyes narrowed slightly. He didn’t dodge. He simply raised two fingers, forming a sword seal.

Chiii!

A formless, invisible sword intent shot out from his fingertips. It was so sharp, so pure, that it didn’t made a single sound. It collided directly with the golden dragon claw.

CLANG!

A deafening metallic ring echoed across the sky. The invisible sword intent sliced through the golden light, but Ao Huang’s physical body was just too terrifying. The dragon claw merely paused for a microsecond before continuing its downward strike.

Qingyun was forced to take a half step back, his white sleeve was sliced open by the residual claw wind.

Ao Huang took the upper hand in this first exchange.

“Hah! Old man, your sword is getting dull!” Ao Huang laughed wildly, pressing his advantage. He unleashed a flurry of claw strikes, each one carrying the weight of a mountain, turning the sky above into a silver net of death. He was like a storm, completely suppressing the Sword Venerable.

But Qingyun’s face remained completely unchanged. As he retreated, his eyes suddenly shone with a binding light.

“You rely too much on your bloodline, Ao Huang.”

Qingyun’s right hand suddenly grasped the empty air.

WENG!

The heaven and earth spiritual energy violently boiled. A translucent, ethereal longsword condensed in his hand. This was not a physical sword, but the manifestation of his Sword Dao.

“One Sword Severs the Void.”

Qingyun swung the sword. It was a very slow and a very simple horizontal slash.

But as the sword light expanded, the golden storm of Ao Huang’s claw strikes was instantly frozen. The slash didn’t target Ao Huang’s body, it targeted the space and the connection of his attack.

Crack!

The golden claw light shattered like glass. The ethereal sword light passed through Ao Huang’s chest without cutting his flesh, but it severed the spiritual energy circulation in his meridians for a split second.

“Ugh!” Ao Huang let out a muffled groan, his face turned slightly pale. A drop of golden, blood like liquid seeped from the corner of his mouth. He was forced to leap backward, crashing into a nearby peak and reducing it to rubble.

The upper hand instantly shifted to Qingyun.

“You… you used the Law of Severing?!” Ao Huang wiped the golden blood from his mouth, his eyes now completely bloodshot with fury. “Good! Very good! What an scheming old man. Qingyun, you actually used the Law when I didn’t and forced me to bleed! You have successfully provoked this Primordial True Dragon!”

Ao Huang tilted his head back and let out a long roar. Just then invisible fluctuations began to spread from his body.

“Primordial Dragon Domain—Devour the Heavens!”

The fluctuations instantly expanded, transforming into a massive, Ten Thousand foot long dragon phantom in the sky. The dragon phantom opened its massive jaws, and a terrifying suction force erupted. It wasn’t just absorbing spiritual energy, it was absorbing the very laws of the surrounding space! The sky turned dark, and Qingyun felt his own sword intent being dragged toward the dragon’s maw.

This was the ultimate domain technique of a Half step Divine Lord. In this domain, Ao Huang was practically invincible. The dragon phantom’s jaws closed down, aiming to swallow Qingyun whole.

Qingyun was trapped in the domain, his white robes whipped violently. But instead of panic, a rare, excited smile appeared on his face.

“Finally, a move worth seeing.”

Qingyun threw his ethereal sword high into the air. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his pupils had turned completely silver.

“Heavenly Origin Sword Domain—Myriad Swords Return to the Origin!”

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Millions of tiny, silver sword lights erupted from Qingyun’s body. They didn’t fly outward but they swirled around him, forming a massive, inverted sword lotus.

The sword lotus spun at an incomprehensible speed, creating an absolute defense and an absolute offense.

The giant dragon phantom bit down on the sword lotus.

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

A very huge explosion erupted from the attracks after colliding. The collision of these two Half step Divine Lord domains created a terrifying shockwave. The surrounding mountains for a hundred miles were instantly flattened into dust. The sky was torn into a chaotic mess of black spatial rifts and sword lights.

But miraculously, where the ordinary mountain was located remained completely untouched. The two monsters, despite fighting with world destroying power, had perfectly controlled their energy leakage to avoid damaging the mountain.

The explosion lasted for a full ten seconds before the light and sound finally faded.

The dust slowly cleared.

A hundred meters apart, the two figures stood facing each other.

Ao Huang’s skin had several deep, bleeding sword marks, and his robes were completely torn, revealing his muscular, dragon scaled chest. He was breathing heavily, his golden eyes stared fiercely ahead.

Qingyun stood quietly in place. His white robes were stained with a few drops of golden dragon blood, and his hair was slightly disheveled. A thin line of silver blood trickled from the corner of his lips, but his posture was still as straight as a sword.

Neither of them had been defeated but neither of them had won either.

It was a tie.

Ao Huang spat a mouthful of blood on the ground. He looked at Qingyun, the fury in his eyes slowly turned into a respectful light. “Old man Qingyun… your sword is still as annoying as ever.”

Qingyun wiped the blood from his lip, his calm demeanor returning instantly. “Your habits are still as reckless as a wild beast, Ao Huang. If we continue, we will only end up destroying ourselves, and the genius whom were going to recruit will likely be disgusted by our lack of refinement.”

Ao Huang let out a breath, crossing his arms again. “Hmph. Fine. Since we can’t take him by force, we will see who they chooses when we finally get his identity. But I warn you, old man, the True Dragon Clan’s offer will be much more attractive than your boring sect!”

“We shall see,” Qingyun replied faintly, turning his gaze back to the ordinary mountain once again.

But neither of them noticed that high above the clouds, hidden in the shadows of the void, a pair of eyes had been watching their entire fight.

The Abyssal Domain’s “Autumn Frost Wind” had already arrived.
