Chapter 354: Chapter 354: Three Realms Compass, Sneak Attack

Dustin Sullivan spoke up, explaining why they didn’t want to make an enemy of Solomon Ennis.

"Our main priority right now is to complete the system’s requirements. We shouldn’t stir up unnecessary trouble, especially not by getting tangled up with a dangerous madman like him."

He turned to Trevor Tanner and instructed, "Trevor, from now on, one of your key tasks is to maintain constant awareness of our surroundings, especially for Solomon Ennis’s unique, violent killing intent.

"The moment you sense any sign of him approaching, give us an immediate warning so we can evade him ahead of time."

Trevor Tanner nodded gravely. "Got it! I’ll keep a close watch!"

Julian Shaw also composed himself and summarized:

"It’s only the second day of the dungeon, and we’ve already run into trouble like Solomon Ennis. Who knows what other crap we’ll have to deal with later. ℯ

"We should focus our energy on completing the system’s survival and kill quests first.

"Let’s not overthink anything else for now. We’ll take it one step at a time."

After speaking, his gaze drifted involuntarily to Seraphina Sullivan.

His eyes held an undisguised curiosity.

The new Ability Seraphina Sullivan had just displayed.

That uniquely shaped, terrifyingly powerful black sniper rifle.

And those incredible, defense-ignoring Space Cutting Bullets.

It was completely different from her previous combat style in the Dark Apocalypse Dungeon, which had leaned more toward close combat and support Abilities.

’In such a short time, has her power taken another quantum leap?’

Dustin Sullivan was equally shaken.

He revised his assessment of Seraphina Sullivan’s strength upward once again.

Every time they met, his estimation of her power grew.

He was eager to learn more.

But now was clearly not a good time to pry into someone’s secrets.

Especially since she had just helped them out of a bind.

For a while after that, the group began clearing out regular zombies in relatively safe areas to advance their quest progress.

However, a new problem soon emerged.

"This isn’t working. Our efficiency is a problem."

Seraphina Sullivan shook her head and spoke up, watching as another speed-type special zombie that had just appeared was instantly killed from a distance by one of her [Space Bullet] shots.

"With so many of us gathered together, our efficiency at killing regular zombies is high, but when we encounter a ’special zombie,’ distribution becomes an issue."

She was being blunt.

With her ultra-long-range, high-damage [Universal Sniper Rifle], Dustin Sullivan and the others basically had no chance to get involved once she spotted and locked onto a special zombie.

After a few shots, the kill and the sample would likely be hers.

It was fine for a short while, but over time, some people would inevitably feel it was unfair, especially since special zombies were tied to important quest progress.

Rather than wait for friction to develop, it was better to split up beforehand.

Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw exchanged a look, each seeing the same thought in the other’s eyes.

They had indeed been feeling the pressure.

The team formed by Seraphina Sullivan, Sean Chandler, and the mysterious Flora Sullivan was clearly a cut above them in terms of strength.

Sticking together certainly offered a higher degree of safety.

Their relationship was good now, so no one would say much, but who could say what friction might arise in the future.

It was better to separate.

"You have a point."

Dustin Sullivan quickly made a decision.

"In that case, let’s split up for now and look for our own opportunities. If we run into any danger we can’t handle, or a situation that requires cooperation, we can contact each other via our communicators. Otherwise... we can agree on a time to meet up on the roof of the skyscraper where we first met to exchange intel and supplies."

"Alright." Seraphina Sullivan had no objections.

Soon, the two teams parted ways on a relatively safe street.

Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw led Trevor Tanner and Coco Sullivan to explore in another direction.

After they had gone some distance, Julian Shaw finally breathed a true sigh of relief and said to Dustin Sullivan in a low voice, "They’re... too strong. Especially that Seraphina Sullivan. She feels even more unfathomable than she did during the Dark Apocalypse. Thankfully, we’re not enemies."

Dustin Sullivan’s gaze was profound. "Tell me about it. That rifle... it’s highly unusual. Splitting up is for the best, for both of us."

...

On the other side, after parting with Dustin Sullivan’s group, Seraphina Sullivan didn’t immediately go searching for new zombie clusters.

She gestured for Sean Chandler and Flora Sullivan to wait a moment.

Then, from her personal storage space, she took out an ancient-looking brass compass, its surface covered in complex engravings.

[Three Realms Compass].

Seraphina Sullivan’s fingers brushed lightly over the cool surface of the Compass, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes.

"We should also go... take care of someone."

she muttered to herself, her voice calm yet carrying an unquestionable resolve.

When she heard that Solomon Ennis possessed that bizarrely effective weapon called the [Slave Whip],

besides feeling disgusted, an indescribable "interest" had also welled up inside Seraphina Sullivan.

The [Black Python Poison Whip] she had used before was destroyed in a previous dungeon battle.

She had been looking for a similar, powerful whip-type weapon or a suitable replacement.

And now, hadn’t someone come to "deliver equipment" right to her doorstep?

’As for him being a Beloved of the God of Slaughter?’

’Perfect. I’ll use him for target practice and collect his belongings afterward. Perfectly reasonable.’

With a flicker of her will, the [Three Realms Compass] activated.

The needle first spun aimlessly a few times.

Then, an invisible wave spread out, seeming to grasp for some faint connection in the ether.

Soon, in the central area of the Compass, the [Life Mark] function activated.

A faint red dot, saturated with a violent killing intent, appeared on the edge of the Compass and began to move slowly.

It was Solomon Ennis.

"Found you." A cold smile played on Seraphina Sullivan’s lips.

’The hunt is only just beginning.’

’Only this time, the roles of hunter and prey are about to be reversed.’

Seraphina Sullivan silently made her way in the direction indicated by the [Three Realms Compass].

The Compass needle’s light pointed steadily southeast, showing that the distance to the target was closing.

Meanwhile, just as Seraphina Sullivan had expected, Solomon Ennis hadn’t fled far. Instead, he was in a relatively open plaza, ventingly clearing out regular zombies.

Apparently, even he couldn’t completely ignore the system’s quest to kill 30,000 zombies.

He swung his massive fists, each blow pulverizing several zombies into meat paste.

His efficiency was quite high, but the violent frustration from having his kill "stolen" and being threatened by Seraphina Sullivan still lingered on his face.

Seraphina Sullivan didn’t approach rashly.

She knew full well that at Level 3, a madman like Solomon Ennis—with his rich combat experience and sharp instincts—would be extremely sensitive to being watched or targeted with killing intent from close range.

But this was precisely where the advantage of the [Sniper] Profession lay.

She quickly found a partially collapsed office building about two kilometers away from the plaza where Solomon Ennis was.

Climbing more than ten stories up, she found a window with a wide field of view and good cover, then set up her [Universal Sniper Rifle].

Through the high-powered scope, Solomon Ennis’s every move was crystal clear.
