Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Taking Out the Healing Blood Grapes to Solve the Disease Problem

Forrest Sterling had since changed out of his previously disheveled attire.

Though a trace of indelible sorrow still lingered in his eyes, his gaze was once again firm and resolute.

He was using his Ability to try and maintain contact with the Central Base and receive any information about possible aid.

Clearly, he had recovered from the devastating blow of losing his brother.

He understood that indulging in grief was meaningless. Only by pulling himself together, completing the migration, and protecting more people could he best honor his brother’s memory.

Seeing Seraphina Sullivan approach, Justin Brooks stopped his conversation with Forrest Sterling and came to greet her, his face etched with exhaustion and worry. "Seraphina Sullivan, you’re here. What is it?"

"Yes," Seraphina nodded, getting straight to the point.

"I’m here to solve the problem of the sick."

She opened her palm, revealing two strange seeds glowing faintly within it, like a pair of rubies.

The eyes of Justin Brooks and the nearby Forrest Sterling were immediately drawn to them.

They could sense these seeds were anything but ordinary.

"These are...?" Justin Brooks asked, puzzled.

"[Healing Blood Grape Seeds], a special spirit plant."

Seraphina explained succinctly, "When planted, the fruit they bear can effectively treat common illnesses like colds, fevers, and bacterial infections."

Justin Brooks’s eyes shot wide open, his breathing quickening. "What did you say?! Fruit from a spirit plant that can cure diseases?!"

This news was like a sudden beacon in the darkness, instantly giving him a glimmer of hope!

"That’s right," Seraphina affirmed.

"I can provide the seeds, but they need to be planted and cultivated as soon as possible. We can’t afford to wait for a normal growth cycle."

She looked at Justin Brooks, her gaze shifting to Jasper Drake in the distance. He was helping maintain order, a faint, earthy-yellow glow flowing around him.

"Jasper Drake’s Ability is controlling plant growth, isn’t it?"

Justin Brooks immediately understood what Seraphina was getting at and nodded excitedly. "Yes! His Ability can accelerate plant growth, and it’s remarkably effective!

He’s the one who force-grew some of our emergency vegetables back in the Vorlag Safe Zone!"

"That’s good." Seraphina handed the two seeds to Justin Brooks.

"Give these seeds to him. Have him find a suitable, relatively safe spot with fertile soil, and focus all his efforts on growing these two [Healing Blood Grapes] plants.

Tell him these are for saving lives, so the sooner they bear fruit, the better.

Once the fruit ripens, they should be given first to the patients with the most severe symptoms."

Justin Brooks carefully took the two precious seeds as if he were holding a priceless treasure and gave a firm nod. "I understand! I’ll go find Jasper Drake right now! Seraphina, thank you! If this really works, you’ll have saved the entire convoy!"

He wasted no more time, immediately turning and hurrying toward Jasper Drake. Even his retreating figure seemed to radiate a renewed sense of purpose and hope, something not seen in a long time.

Forrest Sterling also looked at Seraphina and said solemnly, "Thank you."

Seraphina shook her head. She gazed at the people in the camp tormented by illness and said softly, "I hope they grow quickly."

Between the promise of the Healing Blood Grapes and the possibility of limited aid from the Central Base, there was finally a glimmer of hope for resolving the epidemic threatening the convoy.

And so, Seraphina had once again injected a crucial spark of life into the struggling group.

Feeling a little more at ease, Seraphina looked up at the still-gray sky, then glanced around the convoy, shrouded in sickness.

’I hope... these Blood Grapes can truly work a healing miracle.’

Seraphina muttered to herself and returned to her room to collect her thoughts while also checking the rewards from last night’s Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams instance.

Specifically, the [Flash Candy] that a Nightmare Kin had turned into, and the [Wish Treasure Box].

Of course, for Seraphina, neither the experience points nor the [Wish Treasure Box] from the defense mission in the Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams instance were the most important reward.

The mountain of dazzling and assorted delicacies and desserts piled high in her Scavenger’s Farm Space was what truly put her at ease.

Thanks to her heaven-defying Talent, [Magic Cuisine], she had long ago achieved "food freedom" on a personal level.

No matter what desperate situation she was in, as long as she had suitable ingredients, she could transform them into delicious, energy-rich cuisine.

For her, hunger had become a distant concept.

However, on Azure Star, in this apocalyptic era, hunger and scarcity remained the Sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of most survivors.

Forget their own struggling convoy. Back in the Vorlag Safe Zone, if she hadn’t provided the Growth Potatoes—of which a single bite could sate one’s hunger—the food shortage would have likely led to widespread starvation and a much more brutal internal conflict.

Seraphina’s fundamental nature was one of egoism, with self-preservation at its absolute core.

She was by no means a "saint" or "savior" in the traditional sense.

She was willing to help others, just as she had been with the precious potato seeds, but only so long as it was within her means and didn’t compromise her own core interests.

But that was all predicated on one thing: she herself had to be fed, warm, and safe first.

’If I can’t even guarantee my own survival, what spare compassion would I have to care whether others live or die?’

This was the unabashed survival logic rooted deep in her heart.

Her so-called kindness was less an innate quality and more a product of having a great abundance of resources—a mix of rational calculation and some lingering shred of human compassion.

It was only because she now had a complete surplus of food—so much that her Space was nearly full—that she was willing to show a bit of kindness and consider using her resources to solve some of the survival problems for the convoy, and perhaps even for people beyond it.

’It’s a good thing we have Jasper Drake, a Player who can accelerate plant growth,’ Seraphina mused, organizing her plans.

’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have so easily given out something like Growth Potatoes that requires a growing period.

The ready-made desserts and food I brought back from the Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams can’t be distributed directly. It’s too conspicuous, the source is impossible to explain, and it would just create dependency.’

She already had a vague plan in mind:

’In the future, if I encounter more special seeds or seedlings like Healing Blood Grapes and Growth Potatoes—things that can fundamentally solve food or medical problems—I’ll find a way to get more of them.

Then I’ll have Jasper Drake focus his energy on maturing a batch quickly.

That way, we’ll see fast results, but we can also keep the seeds or plants for sustainable production.

It’s far more effective than just handing out finished food, and it makes it easier to conceal my own resources.’

With her mind made up, Seraphina returned to her RV.

The RV was empty.

Flora Sullivan and Crystal Lynn had taken Flora’s Four Seasons Deer Alpha to the edge of the camp to "cultivate a relationship" with the more docile, ordinary Four Seasons Deer.
